With a successful sophomore album, a headlining arena tour and dates with two of the biggest rocks of all-time, The Lumineers are hitting a new level of success. Now, they’ve added a third hometown show to celebrate.
After quickly selling out their first two dates at Fiddler’s Green in Denver, The Lumineers have announced a third show at the outdoor amphitheater. The folk-rock trio will play Fiddler’s on Aug. 27 to complete their three-night, tour-closing run. Fan club presale for the new date begins tomorrow, March 21, at 10am MST, with general on sale beginning this Friday, March 24 at 10am local time. Click here to get your tickets on AXS.com.
As mentioned above, The Lumineers are currently in the midst of their first-ever headlining arena tour, with Kaleo and SUSTO opening in support (click here to check out our recent chat with SUSTO). In a recent interview with the Montreal Gazette about the band’s arena tour, the band’s guitarist and singer Wesley Schultz said that he’s “really happy with how it’s going.”
“You do a lot of things differently. I remember hearing an actor describe the difference between stage acting and acting on screen. When you’re on stage, you’re really animated because you’re trying to reach the guy all the way in the back and when you’re on the screen, it’s a lot more subtle. You’d look silly if you acted the same way (as on the stage). You can liken that to playing a small club and then trying to do something different on a bigger stage in an arena. So you have a screen to show people what we’re doing. And we’ve always tried to break down the wall between the audience and the band. So part of it is an attempt to create less of an enormous barrier between the audience and us. One of the ways we do this is we have this alternate stage that we play a few songs out on.”
In addition to their own headlining tour, the band is also scheduled to open for rock giants U2 and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers on select dates this summer, before wrapping their busy live schedule with the trio of Colorado shows.
