Donna Brazile criticizes Barack Obama's 'titanic ego' in her new book

Former interim DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile said the Democratic party was “leeched of its vitality” by former President Barack Obama and others in the months leading up to the 2016 presidential campaign.

“We had three Democratic parties: The party of Barack Obama, the party of Hillary Clinton, and this weak little vestige of a party led by [Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz] that was doing a very poor job getting people who were not president elected,” Brazile wrote in her newly released 2016 campaign tell-all, titled  “Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House.”

Brazile accused the 44th president of caring “deeply about his image” and using the committee to act as a bank for his personal “political expenses.”

Obama “used the party to provide for political expenses like gifts to donors, and political travel,” Brazile wrote, adding that the politician also used DNC funds for “his pollster and focus groups” later into his second term although he couldn’t run for president again.

“This was not working to strengthen the party. He left it in debt. Hillary bailed it out so that she could control it, and Debbie went along with all of this because she liked the power and perks of being a chair but not the responsibilities,” Brazile wrote.

She added that although she believed Obama, Clinton and Schultz loved the Democratic Party dearly, they “leeched it of its vitality and were continuing to do so.”

“I knew that these three did not do this with malice. I knew if you woke any of them up in the middle of the night to ask them how they felt about the Democratic Party they would answer with sincerity that they loved this party and all it had done for the country and for them. Yet they had leeched it of its vitality and were continuing to do so,” Brazile wrote.

Brazile, who assumed the DNC role in the interim following Schultz’s resignation in 2016 after a trove of leaked emails showed the committee conspired to sabotage Senator Bernie Sanders’s campaign, has been facing heat for speaking critically against members in her own party in recent months.

“As I saw it, these three titanic egos–Barack, Hillary, and Debbie–had stripped the party to a shell for their own purposes,” Brazile wrote.

New York Magazine Compares Climate Agreement to the Titanic

Talk about a stretch! Or rather a streeeeeeeeetch!

Liberals have gotten so over the top melodramatic about the supposed dire consequences of the announcement by President Donald Trump that the United States is withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement that they have turned themselves into laughingstocks. One of the more hilarious examples is their comparison of the Marine Jazz Band playing on the White House lawn shortly before the announcment to the Titanic band playing “Nearer My God To Thee.”

Not only do the two bands have completely different sounds as we shall hear but where would you rather have been; On the White House lawn or the deck of the sinking Titanic? Hint: one group went back home and slept comfortably that night and the other group all drowned in the cold Atlantic.

However, that didn’t stop New York Magazine writer Madison Malone Kirchner from making the absurd comparison of the two situations. The very title of the June 1 article sets the silly tone of the story, A Band Played at the White House Before Trump’s Climate Announcement, and, Yes, It Was Just Like Titanic:

On Thursday afternoon, Donald Trump announced his decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate agreement. (The Paris Agreement was formally signed and enacted last year and endeavors to limit global warming. Including the United States, 195 nations signed it.) While waiting for Trump to take the microphone, a military band warmed up the crowd with some jazz music. Because nothing says “we’re not worried about melting ice caps and a disintegrating ozone layer” like a few smooth jazz tunes. Immediately, people on Twitter began comparing the scene to another moment in history when a band played to a crowd awaiting — quite literally in this case — their doom: The string orchestra that famously played on the deck on the sinking Titanic.

To see just how ridiculous the comparison is, let us take a look at the two bands. First the Marine band playing a jazzy tune as drama-queened by someone on Twitter:

And now the band playing as the ship sinks as depicted in the film “Titanic.”

This probably won’t be the last of the laughable liberal Chicken Little moments over the American withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement but at least it gives you an idea of how absurdly melodramatic they will be.
