Israel Terror-Bombs Syrian Military Target

Israel Terror-Bombs Syrian Military Target

by Stephen Lendman ( – Home – Stephen Lendman)

Washington and Israel want endless war and regime change in Syria – overnight Israeli terror-bombing of a Syrian military target a clear step toward escalating conflict, aiming to prevent diplomatic resolution.

According to reports, Israeli warplanes fired air-to-ground missiles from Lebanese airspace. Israel uses it regularly like its own, illegally without Lebanese permission.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), “(t)he army’s air defense at midnight confronted an Israeli attack with ground-to-ground missiles (GGM) on one of the military sites in Damascus countryside.”

“Informed sources told SANA Saturday that the Israeli enemy launched at 12:30 am (local time) a number of GGM against one of the military sites in Damascus countryside, adding that the Syrian air defense intercepted them and destroyed two of them.”

“The Israeli aggression caused material damage to the site, according to the sources.”

Israel “is closely linked to the terrorist organizations in Syria. The army has repeatedly found Israeli weapons inside the terrorists’ hideouts, particularly in Jub al-Jarrah, al-Mayadeen and Khan al-Sheeh areas.”

Reportedly, a Syrian army ammunition depot was struck in the Damascus countryside, southwest of the city.

Claims of an Iranian military base in Syria were fabricated, reported by the BBC weeks earlier, saying Iran’s military “established a compound at a site used by the Syrian army outside El-Kiswah, 14 km (8 miles) south of Damascus,” citing an unnamed “Western intelligence source.”

Days earlier, Israeli defense minister Avigdor Lieberman said “(t)here are no (Iranians) in Syria, contrary to what is being said.”

“Yes, there is a pool of experts, advisers…Iran has not been present in Syria so far and our main goal is to prevent (it) from being present as a real military force.”

Separately, Netanyahu lied claiming Iran’s goal is “using Syria as a base from which to destroy Israel.”

The overnight attack came after Syrian and allied forces liberated more areas near Golan from US/Israeli supported terrorists. Territory west of Damascus was cleared.

A US/Israeli-supported terrorist assault on Golan’s Bardaiya Hills was foiled. Maqtoul mountain and Mudawwar hill were captured, al-Nusra terrorists eliminated from the areas.

Other advances were made. Israel likely struck Syria overnight to try slowing its liberating efforts, along with escalating conflict, aiming to prevent resolution.

Separately, Syria’s chief negotiator in Geneva Bashar al-Jaafari condemned a so-called Riyadh-2 communique, demanding Assad’s resignation and exclusion from governing during a transition period.

“As long as the other side sticks to (this demand), there will be no progress” in talks, Jaafari stressed, adding:

“(P)rovocative and irresponsible” Riyadh-2 language “contravenes UN Security Council Resolution 2254,” aiming to undermine conflict resolution.

On Saturday, Syrian delegates left Geneva, undecided on if they’ll return, given the futility of eight rounds of talks over the past five years, several days of current ones accomplishing nothing.

Focus is largely on continuing Astana talks and a Russian sponsored Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi at dates to be announced.

A Final Comment

Perhaps in retaliation for Israel’s overnight terror-bombing attack, Syrian and allied forces launched an offensive against Mount Hermon’s Beij Jinn pocket, controlled by al-Nusra terrorists – around four km from Israeli positions in the area.

The offensive began shortly after Israel’s latest assault on Syrian territory.

Anti-Terror Unit NYPD Cop Charged With Trying to Traffic Three Kilos of Heroin

A crooked NYPD cop assigned to an anti-terror unit tried to bring 3 kilograms of heroin into the city as part of a “shocking crime spree” involving credit card fraud and counterfeit cash, authorities charged Thursday.

Reynaldo Lopez, 26, was arrested after agreeing to deliver what he believed was a hefty quantity of heroin to a drug dealer in the Bronx, authorities said. He’d been duped by an undercover police officer who handed off “three keys” in a black bag during a meetup in a New Jersey parking lot, according to a criminal complaint.

Lopez, who is assigned to the NYPD Transit Bureau’s anti-terror unit, was allegedly carrying his personal Glock handgun during the Wednesday drug deal.

“Reynaldo Lopez, a police officer sworn to serve and protect his community, instead allegedly engaged in a shocking crime spree,” said acting Manhattan U.S. Attorney Joon Kim.

Lopez, of Brooklyn, showed up on authorities’ radar through a joint NYPD-FBI investigation of a counterfeit credit card ring that began this year, court papers say. He allegedly received stolen credit card information through an unidentified co-conspirator’s workplace, according to a complaint that did not identify the person.

Lopez also took stolen identities from an undercover officer who said he got the information through a car dealership where he worked, prosecutors said.

The alleged bad cop used bogus credit cards to spend $13,000 at luxury retail stores, the complaint said, adding that since May he allegedly splurged on movie tickets, gift cards, electronics and restaurants around New York and New Jersey.

On Nov. 10, Lopez showed off a fake $100 bill to an undercover in a “stack” of money that he said included other counterfeit currency, according to the complaint.

MSNBC Guest: Republicans Are ‘Domestic Terror Group,’ Should Be ‘Locked Up’

On Saturday’s AM Joy, the MSNBC show at one point looked like a caricature of itself as frequent guest Fernand Armandi actually made the incendiary claim that the Republican party is a “domestic terror group,” and then asserted that voters should not only vote them out, but “consider possibly afterwards locking them up.”

The Democratic pollster — known for making wildly over the top statements on the show — made his hyperbolic comments about locking up Republicans not in response to any sort of charges of legal wrongdoing, but instead in response to simply having a policy disagreement about how to handle the CHIP program.

The rest of the panel behaved as if the off the wall remarks were simply a normal conversation as no one commented on his absurdity, with even Republican panel member Katon Dawson just calmly responding that he believed the CHIP program would be renewed.

Host Joy Reid set up the discussion by recalling the debate over whether to renew CHIP. She then turned to Amandi and posed: “We know that Florida has a large abundance of people who are on CHIP. In a state like that, can the members of Congress from Florida afford not to renew CHIP? And why haven’t they pushed for it?”

The frequent liberal guest began his cartoonish analysis:

It’s an excellent question, Joy, You know, Florida and many other states would be decimated — Florida’s children, other children. And I think it leads to the question: Is it any surprise that the party that is pro-pay-for-play, pro-Putin, and now with Roy Moore, pro-pedophilia, the fact that they’re anti-children, is that any surprise? I don’t think it is. And I think, Joy, this is emblematic — this CHIP scenario where you mentioned nine million children — children — without health insurance.

He then added:

<<< Please support MRC’s NewsBusters team with a tax-deductible contribution today. >>>

I think if you take a step back, one has to ask themselves — and I think the American people should ask themselves the broader question: What has the Republican in the last 10 years done to help the American people? What have they done? This is not a political party — this is a domestic terror group. And I think what the American people should consider when they ask themselves that question — with a party that has done nothing to help the American people — is to vote them out and consider possibly afterwards locking them up, Joy.

Unfazed, host Reid turned to Dawson and posed:

You know, I’m going to go to Katon that. I’m sure Katon has thoughts on that. Katon, I know you’re not a fan of the Affordable Care Act, but can the part really, you know, get away with the idea of not renewing this program? It’s nine million kids.

Dawson seemed to barely notice the outlandish statement that he was reacting to as he calmly began his response:

I would predict to you that the party or the politicians will find a away to make this palatable and affordable. And the already have addressed it in the House. It’s pretty tough to leave nine million children behind, and that won’t happen

Washington’s Drug of Choice in the War on Terror

As you read today’s piece by historian and TomDispatch regular Alfred McCoy, author most recently of In the Shadows of the American Century: The Rise and Decline of U.S. Global Power, think of Afghanistan as the gateway drug for three Washington administrations. Within weeks of the 9/11 attacks, George W. Bush and his top officials had launched their invasion of that country and soon knocked off the Taliban (rather than simply going after Osama bin Laden and his followers). That “victory,” however ephemeral, acted as the policy equivalent of a drug high for the president and his crew of geopolitical dreamers who promptly turned their attention to Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and nailing down the rest of the oil heartlands of the planet. (And you know just how well that went in mission-accomplished terms.) In 2009-2010, Afghanistan (“the right war“) would prove the gateway drug for Barack Obama as he surged in 30,000 troops, along with mini-surges of contractors, CIA agents, Special Forces soldiers, and others. Before he was done, from Libya to Iraq, the Afghan War would be the least of his problems. And finally, of course, there’s Donald Trump, who, in the years leading up to his election victory, spoke or tweeted as if he might take a different approach to Afghanistan, but then surrounded himself with three generals from America’s losing wars and once again decided to do the usual Afghan thing. Now, he, too, is hooked and, from Niger to Somalia and beyond, the results are already coming in.

Though seldom thought of that way (except perhaps by McCoy), Afghanistan is not just the longest war in American history but possibly the longest opium war in anyone’s history. And sixteen years later, here’s one thing we can take for granted about what’s likely to happen: in the end, it never goes well. If we know less than we should about how badly it’s going right now, part of that can be explained by the policies of those most deeply hooked on the war. When things go badly for them, they turn off the information spigot, as in 2015 when the American command in Afghanistan cut off all public release of material on “U.S.-taxpayer-funded efforts to build, train, equip, and sustain the Afghan National Security Forces.” That was, of course, at the point when almost $65 billion had already been poured into training and equipping those forces and they were failing nationwide. Since then, we know that Afghan police and military casualties have soared, desertions have risen, “ghost soldiers” fill many units (with their commanders and others skimming off their salaries), and the Taliban has gained control of ever more of the country. In response, the U.S. command there has again “classified and restricted once-public information regarding the state of Afghan security forces, including ‘casualties, personnel strength, attrition, capability assessments, and operational readiness of equipment.’”

And so it goes in America’s drug war in South Asia. Someday, the high will truly wear off and then who knows where we’ll be. In the meantime, read McCoy and think about what this repetitive version of war making means so many years later. ~ Tom

Into the Afghan Abyss (Again)
How a Failed Drug War Will Defeat Trump’s Afghan Adventure
By Alfred W. McCoy

After nine months of confusion, chaos, and cascading tweets, Donald Trump’s White House has finally made one thing crystal clear: the U.S. is staying in Afghanistan to fight and – so they insist – win. “The killers need to know they have nowhere to hide, that no place is beyond the reach of American might,” said the president in August, trumpeting his virtual declaration of war on the Taliban. Overturning Barack Obama’s planned (and stalled) drawdown in Afghanistan, Secretary of Defense James Mattis announced that the Pentagon would send 4,000 more soldiers to fight there, bringing American troop strength to nearly 15,000.

In October, as that new mini-escalation was ramping up, the CIA leaked to the New York Times news of a complementary covert surge with lethal drone strikes and “highly experienced” Agency paramilitary teams being dispatched to “hunt and kill” Taliban guerrillas, both ordinary fighters and top officials. “This is unforgiving, relentless,” intoned CIA Director Mike Pompeo, promising a wave of extrajudicial killings reminiscent of the Agency’s notorious Phoenix Program during the Vietnam War. CIA paramilitary officers, reported the Times, will lead Special Forces operatives, both Afghan and American, in expanded counterterrorism operations that, in the past, “have been accused of indiscriminately killing Afghan civilians.” In short, it’s game on in Afghanistan.

3 Ways The NYC Terrorist Attack Proves The ‘War on Terror’ is a Failure and Simply Propaganda

terrorist attackterrorist attack

A truck attack in New York City that killed eight people on Tuesday is now being hailed the “Deadliest Terrorist Attack in New York Since 9/11,” after the suspect reportedly pledged allegiance to ISIS and left a note at the scene. But there are a few glaring reminders that the War on Terror should have prevented the latest “lone-wolf” attack to be sensationalized by the mainstream media.

Here are 3 ways the NYC Attack proves that the War on Terror has failed:

1. The suspect was a legal immigrant from Uzbekistan—a country outside of the United States’ fear-mongering terrorist map

Within hours of the attack, police released the identity of the suspect as Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov, a 29-year-old from Uzbekistan who was living in the U.S. legally under a Diversity Visa. He was described by a close friend as “a very good guy” who is “very friendly.”

While the claims that Saipov emerged from his truck yelling “Allahu Akbar” and left a note apparently saying that he carried out a terrorist attack in support of the Islamic State, are textbook examples of everything the U.S. government wants Americans to associate with terrorism, the similarities end there.

Saipov was not a Syrian refugee, and he was not an illegal immigrant. If he did have connections to ISIS, then the elaborate billion-dollar mass surveillance industry used by the U.S. government to spy on innocent citizens should have picked up on the red flags.

Although the U.S. has restricted travel and attempted to place even stricter bans on countries such as Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia and Yemen—all nations where the U.S. has conducted illegal drone strikes and killed innocent civilians—it seems to have completely missed Uzbekistan.

2. The Attack was first reported as both a truck attack and a shooting—but it was not the typical kind of shooting

While it is no secret that as soon as news of a mass shooting is reported, there seems to be a team of politicians, celebrities and media pundits who take to social media to call for gun control before any of the actual details are released, this attack was different.

Initial reports from the scene claimed that both a truck attack and a shooting occurred in downtown Manhattan on Tuesday. However, that story had to be revised.

While there were reports of Saipov brandishing a weapon, it was later found to be a pellet gun and a paintball gun.” Both pellet and paintball guns are widely available to the public, and they are often used by children. While it appears that all of the fatal injuries from the attack were caused by the truck Saipov was driving, it remains to be seen how gun control advocates will choose to respond to this attack.

3. The War on Terror only comes into Play when it fits the narrative for U.S. Propaganda

When a shooter opened fire in Las Vegas on Oct. 1, killing nearly 60 people and injuring more than 500, the response from both law enforcement and the mainstream media was infuriating. The suspect was named “Stephen Paddock” and the first photo that was released featured a white man in a bar. In response, the FBI was quick to announce that it found no evidence to indicate terrorism in Las Vegas Shooting.”

When a suspect plowed a truck onto a bicycle path in New York City, killing eight people and injuring a dozen others, the attack was immediately labeled terrorism by both law enforcement and the media, and the hashtag “#NYCTerroristAttack” began trending on Twitter.

This is a reminder that the term “Terrorist Attack” only comes into play when it fits a narrative that justifies the United States’ foreign policy.

There are a number of ways in which the “War on Terror” has failed to keep Americans safe, no matter how much it actively infringes upon their freedoms. Every time an attack occurs, each of the government agencies who have increased their own power in the name of “freedom” should be held responsible.

In the case of the Central Intelligence Agency, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange noted, “If the CIA spent more time investigating terrorists and less time training and arming them we might not have had today’s truck attack in New York.”

Times of terror demand greater situational awareness (of the true source of terror)

You see the truck barreling toward you and bodies and bicycles flying through the air. You hear the screeching of metal on metal, and the shards of shattered glass tinkling to the pavement. You smell the diesel fumes, you feel the surge of adrenaline and taste dry copper on the dry roof of your mouth.

Time stands still. It’s a moment of truth. What do you do?

It’s a question that every one of us needs to be asking ourselves today, tomorrow and every single day in this perplexing and violent world.

Americans are tough. We show resilience. Americans know when to unite as one. It has been more than 16 years since the savage terrorist assaults of 9/11, and yet yesterday’s attack in New York and the recent Las Vegas massacre remind all of us how vulnerable we can feel at times.

Comment: Actually, Americans, in general, are not tough, and they’re not resilient. They’re extremely hystericizied. Which is something that those Americans who are paying attention need to remember at all times.

Nevertheless, it is at moments like these that we must find it within ourselves to come together and remember that our lives must not be dictated by those who commit acts of terror; those cowards who rely on fear and prey upon the innocent.

And yet carrying on with our lives and maintaining our daily activities post-attack is only one action that we should undertake right now. Another point of reflection should be dedicated to understanding the most effective way for each of us to react in the immediacy of such attacks.

In the heat of the moment, people often find themselves panicking, without having thought through the various options at our disposal. While it must be acknowledged that no type of simulation or practice environment can serve as an identical setting to a real-life crisis or attack scenario, using our minds to “run through” how we would respond in real-time is an effective way to prepare ourselves.

One of the most pressing things to consider is the need to stay as calm as possible and to react with decisiveness and determination during instances of chaos. It is paramount that people have their wits about them and know that reacting in a frenzied manner can often contribute to a worse outcome.

While there are obviously situations that are far beyond our control no matter the degree of preparation or mental fortitude, there are concrete steps that each of us can take to increase chances of survival and to minimize the impact. Situational awareness is essential.

Personal defense trainers often preach the importance of situational awareness as the single most vital step to defusing challenging circumstances and increasing the chances of survival. Situational awareness means being aware of our surroundings, ever vigilant to threats that may arise. It means avoiding the temptation to bury our noses in our smartphones or encasing ourselves behind earphones that limit our ability to hear and see what is transpiring around us or may be about to take place.

As citizens living in dangerous times, we must assume an ever-increasing degree of responsibility for protecting ourselves. No matter how rapid the response of law enforcement, life or death is often dictated by mere seconds and not the minutes it may take for the police to arrive on the scene to help protect us.

Comment: Yes, you cannot rely on law enforcement to save you in the immediate circumstances, and you cannot rely on law enforcement to explain to you what actually happened afterwards.

Lastly, an issue that also deserves attention is remembering that hate knows no boundaries. Regardless of our race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, income-bracket, or education-level-an attack like the one in New York illustrates that terrorists often seek to kill and maim without discrimination. No memo went out in advance about the danger facing those on the bike path along the West Side Highway. While his target may have been Americans, this deranged man took the lives of six foreign nationals visiting our country.

Comment: The New York incident wasn’t a terror attack; it was a lone nut going postal. Las Vegas, on the other hand, was a terror attack, and it’s true nature is being covered up by the authorities, making them accomplices in the attack.

When we try to digest what transpired, it becomes very clear that nobody is immune from the cowardly crimes that stem from hate-filled individuals and groups. Recognizing this truth can hopefully allow us to move forward in a way that promotes unity and togetherness, not divisiveness and polarization-which is what we have grown accustomed to in this political climate.

Comment: Clearly, such attacks as Vegas have the opposite effect: they divide-and-rule. Because no proper account of them takes place, they foster divisiveness, which the US deep state then exploits to ‘unite’ all the divisions around a lie, the lie that Big Brother is there to protect them

It should not take such atrocities to underscore that we are not vastly different from one another and that at the end of the day we all bleed red and cry the same salty tears. These barbarisms are an assault on our values and a test of our strength. Moving forward, let us not forget to remain calm in the eye of terror and to prepare in advance, for only then can we overcome its challenges, and minimize the carnage and loss of life.

"Anti-Terror" Presence Preceded NYC Attack by Hours

In other words, all “Islamic terrorism” was borne of the Illuminati Freemasons, with the express purpose of fostering and creating the “Hegelian Dialect,” or “constant and opposing factions,” in order to poise one side against another, Christian against Jew, Jew against Muslim, Gay against Straight, Man against Woman, Black against White, so that each and every one of these different factions would scream out for protection and uniformity in the form of the ultimate Illuminati Freemasonic goal – a New World Order with its home base in the Middle East, headquartered in Jerusalem, no longer a home for the Jews, who are just being used to settle and clear the land, but to house and home the Illuminati Freemasons when their “work” is complete.

NYC Foreign Terror Suspect Entered U.S. with ‘Diversity Visa’ Trump Wants to End

Home » Breaking News, Multiculturalism, North America, Terrorism » NYC Foreign Terror Suspect Entered U.S. with ‘Diversity Visa’ Trump Wants to End

The suspected foreign national terrorist behind the New York City attack that has left at least eight individuals dead came to the United States years ago through the Diversity Visa Lottery, a program that President Trump and pro-American immigration reformers have demanded an end to.

According to ABC New York, 29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov — the man who allegedly mowed down pedestrians in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City — entered the U.S. in 2010 from Uzbekistan under the Diversity Visa Lottery before obtaining a Green Card.

The Diversity Visa Lottery gives out 50,000 visas every year to foreign nationals from a multitude of countries, including those with known terrorist problems – such as Afghanistan, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Syria, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Yemen, and Uzbekistan.

Trump, though, along with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Sen. David Perdue (R-GA), has been calling for an end to the Diversity Visa Lottery program since August. Under the RAISE Act, introduced in February and endorsed by Trump in August, the Diversity Visa Lottery would be eliminated altogether.
