NFL Advertisers to NBC: Stop Showing Players’ Protests

The unease among advertisers over falling National Football League TV ratings is starting to boil over.

One of the league’s major sponsors is considering pulling the plug on its NFL advertising next year, and, according to Business Insider’s Mike Shields, other “brands are threatening to pull ads from NFL coverage if NBC keeps covering players’ national-anthem protests.” If those ad dollars go away, technological shifts may cause advertisers to decide not to return.

Shields cited NBC because an NBCUniversal executive was willing to talk about the situation publicly:

  • NBCUniversal says that marketers want the league to stop covering the players’ national-anthem protests or they will pull their ads.
  • An executive at the media company thinks the controversy around the protests has hurt ratings.

Marketers have put NBCUniversal on notice: Stop covering NFL players’ national-anthem protests, or we’ll pull our ads.

That’s according to Linda Yaccarino, the chairman of advertising sales at NBCUniversal, who spoke during a keynote interview at an event held Friday in New York at the ad agency RGA.

… “Marketers have said, ‘We will not be part of the NFL if you continue covering it,'” Yaccarino said.

… Going forward, marketers want more of the focus on games and less on the protests. Yaccarino said the NFL’s broadcast partners had not always aired the national anthem for each game — that is, until the protests gained steam.

It would seem likely that CBS and Fox, which broadcast weekly regional games, and ESPN, which has Monday Night Football, have heard similar threats.

What’s puzzling here is the stunning naiveté of the “advertisers” and “marketers.” They’re acting as if it’s the 1980s, and that no one has a smartphone or internet connection.

If NBC and the other networks simply stop covering the Anthem and the incidents of disrespect which seem destined to continue, it’s overwhelmingly likely that some fans at these games will simply post video of whatever protests occur themselves, and that word of what happened will spread from there. Even passing on the news of protests via Facebook or Twitter without video will still keep wide circles of friends and acquaintances informed concerning what happened.

Surely Shields, the Business Insider reporter, recognizes this likelihood. Why didn’t he note it?

Rather than demanding that the NFL clean up its act and requiring players to stand for the Anthem under threat of moving their promotional dollars elsewhere, the ad people are simply hoping against hope that news of continued protests won’t gain traction if they’re not shown on live TV. Good luck with that — and just wait until the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons of the world find out that protesting players are being “muzzled” by Big Business and Madison Avenue.

Earlier this week, the founder and CEO of Papa John’s complained that the pizza chain’s sales were suffering as a result of the NFL player protests during the National Anthem. On Friday, the Wall Street Journal reported that the company, while using polite language, is considering pulling the plug next year.

Note that the company’s response does not involve finding alternative TV outlets:

Papa John’s Says It’s Evaluating NFL Sponsorship
Consumers’ shift to digital channels leading pizza chain executives to completely rethink the way they advertise

Papa John’s International Inc. is evaluating its National Football League sponsorship in the wake of declining television football viewership, which the company has blamed in part on the national anthem protests that have roiled the league this season.

Top executives at the pizza chain said they are in weekly discussions with the NFL about the returns their advertising dollars are generating and that they will see how the rest of the football season plays out before making any big decisions. But they say consumers’ shift to digital channels is leading them to completely rethink the way they advertise.

“We have to evaluate our reliance on partnerships that are TV-focused, like the NFL,” Papa John’s Chief Marketing Officer Brandon Rhoten said in an interview on Friday …

“If the viewership decline continues, we will need to shift into things that work more effectively for us,” said Papa John’s President and Chief Operating Officer Steve Ritchie.

It is unclear how much impact football players’ national anthem protests have had on viewership, but Papa John’s says that issue needs to be resolved.

In a related move covered separately by Business Insider’s Shields on Friday, NBCUniversal’s Yaccarino sharply criticized the big ad agencies for not being ready to move into the digital realm:

The head of sales as NBCUniversal just issued a stark warning to the ad industry

  • NBCU’s sales boss says that ad agencies are holding up the TV business from competing with tech giants like Google and Facebook.
  • The executive hinted that the media giant is planning an aggressive shake up of the legacy TV ad model next year.
  • “We transact the way we transact…because of the limits of the holding companies,” said Yaccarino, referring to the ad agency giants like WPP and Publicis.

NBCUniversal’s sales chief Linda Yaccarino thinks ad agencies are moving way too slow in embracing data and technology. She’s not going to wait for them to get their act together.

… Yaccarino said that she wants to push the TV ad industry to embrace more elements of digital advertising – using software, algorithms and reams of data to improve ad targeting.

But given the pressure everyone in advertising is feeling from the escalating power of Google and Facebook (and increasingly Amazon), NBCU needs to up its ‘programmatic’ ad game. That means eventually delivering ads to consumers in a much more targeted, precise fashion.

Yet Yaccarino said Madison Avenue is simply not ready.

Here’s how all of this ties in:

  • If the Anthem protests weren’t taking place, much if not most of the TV ratings decline and the hit to Papa John’s sales would not be occurring.
  • But because of these drops, and because they have been so steep, everyone involved feels compelled to look into rolling out digital advertising alternatives sooner than they otherwise would have been.
  • In other words, the NFL, its protesting players, and the sports reporters who gleefully cheer them on are chasing customers away and, it would appear, on the verge of chasing advertisers away.
  • Meanwhile, the sudden TV vs. digital rethink occurring at the networks and among advertisers is working to ensure that those advertising dollars won’t come back.

This does not bode well for the NFL.

Pittsburg Police Release Body Camera Video Showing Officer Applying Fatal Neck Hold

PITTSBURG — A Bay Point man who died in police custody was put in a neck hold for at least 50 seconds after he ran from officers, according to body camera videos released last week.

The footage, released to this newspaper in response to a records request, shows officers chasing Humberto Martinez, 32, into a Pittsburg home, struggling to handcuff him, employing a neck hold as Martinez screams, then administering CPR and other medical assistance after they realize he’d stopped breathing.

Martinez’s July 2016 death has become the subject of a federal civil lawsuit, filed by his family, against the city of Pittsburg and several officers. The Martinez family’s attorney called the footage “sickening” and likened it to the high-profile death of Eric Garner, who died after NYPD employed a controversial chokehold on him.

By contrast, Pittsburg police released a two-page statement saying the footage corroborated officers’ accounts that Martinez violently resisted arrest and that his death was a tragic accident. They also released a report from Contra Costa deputy district attorney Barry Groves — who investigates matters involving police — that says officers used “lawful, non-deadly” force in attempting to detain Martinez.

Martinez died on July 26, 2016, after officers attempted to pull him over for an expired tag, following him in a circle until he stopped and ran into a garage on the 4200 block of Hillview Drive. Police say they were in the area to investigate “suspicious narcotics activity.”

The footage shows multiple angles of officers chasing Martinez into the home, and attempting to handcuff him in the kitchen while he is on the floor. They’re heard yelling commands to stop resisting, and at one point an officer yells, “He’s still trying to (expletive) bite me.”

Americans are already showing signs of maxing out on debt

How can the following two things be true at the same time?

  1. Household debt — in aggregate — is above levels last seen just before the economic calamity that hit America a decade ago.
  2. Everything is fine.

That’s a line you’ll hear from Wall Street economists, who are noticing the high debt but also telling their clients it won’t hurt.

The explanation is wealthy people.

US economic growth has become so skewed toward the wealthiest households that data showing healthy consumer balance sheets masks underlying troubles facing middle-class and poor Americans.

Deutsche Bank’s economists tried to wrestle with this issue in a recent note. They note that, overall, things look OK — households are earning enough to pay back debt that now totals $12.84 trillion — about two-thirds of gross domestic product.

But that big picture is skewed by the booming incomes of the wealthy, and “underneath the surface, there may be incipient cracks forming,” the bank’s economists say.

“Some measures of income growth have slowed; the saving rate has fallen to near record-low-levels; measures of consumer credit demand and credit growth have weakened, and balance sheets have become more fragile for the lower part of the income distribution.”

The rich will be fine

Since the crisis, the economy has recovered at a slow but steady pace, allowing the unemployment rate to fall sharply to 4.4% from a peak of 10% during the Great Recession, which lasted from December 2007 to the summer of 2009. The expansion has helped some Americans bolster their finances, but that progress is highly uneven.

BREAKING: FBI Releases Docs On Sandy Hook Showing Feds Visited Shooter BEFORE Massacre

sandy hooksandy hook

Newtown, CT — On December 14, 2012, the world watched the news with horror as they heard the story of 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shooting 20 children between six and seven years old, as well as six staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Since that fateful day, conspiracy theories have abounded from whether or not the shooting actually took place to what Lanza’s motive was.

Adam Lanza is believed to have shot his mother, Nancy Lanza, in the head at her home in Newtown, Connecticut, around 9 a.m. on December 14, before taking her car and driving approximately five miles to the Sandy Hook Elementary School, where he would slaughter the children and teachers.

According to reports, most of the shooting occurred in two of the school’s first-grade classrooms; 14 students in one classroom, and six in the other, were murdered. Only two of the victims who were shot by Lanza—both teachers—survived the attack.

Now, the documents which could lay to rest many of these conspiracy theories have been released by the FBI. At 10:00 AM EST, on Tuesday, the FBI, without any notice, took to Twitter to post the link to over 1,500 pages of documents from their investigation and subsequent findings.

“In general, the FBI does not comment on the content of the files released through [Freedom of Information Act], and lets the information contained in the files speak for itself,” said Charles Grady, a community outreach specialist for the FBI based in New Haven. “This is a routine FOIA release nothing more, nothing less.”

While we would expect that the names, addresses, and contact information be redacted throughout the documents, it appears that entire pages were wiped out.

Just as Americans thought they may be getting some answers as to why this 20-year-old went on a shooting rampage, killing innocent children, it appears we may now have more questions than answers.

One such question that arises from our brief combing of the documents is how Lanza, who only weighed 85 lbs, according to the report, was able to carry such heavy weaponry and ammo and shoot with such deadly accuracy.

sandy hook

According to police, Lanza had in his possession, a Bushmaster XM15 .223 caliber rifle, a Glock 10mm handgun and was also in possession of a loaded 9mm Sig Sauer P226 handgun. After he’d already fired 154 rounds, Lanza also had more ammunition for the weapons he had on his person as well as three 30-round magazines for the Bushmaster, each of them containing 30 rounds.

Lanza was carrying weapons which nearly weighed more than he did.

Also, as the NY Daily News just reported, according to portions of the documents, Lanza was also visited by federal agents before the shooting—who offered him a job.

The FBI documents reveal a visit to the home he shared with his mother by federal agents after he hacked into a government computer.

“The authorities told her that if her son was that smart, he could have a job with them someday,” according to one of the heavily-redacted reports, as reported by the NY Daily News.

As the News reports, Lanza, at that point in the ninth grade, landed on investigator’s radar after hacking his way into an unidentified agency’s computer. The teen made it through two levels of security before his efforts were thwarted, the documents showed.

“Nancy had to convince the authorities that her son was just very intelligent and was challenging himself to see if he could hack (his way in),” the report said of Lanza’s mother.

This revelation about Lanza being visited by federal agents several years before the shooting, leads to so many more questions and opens the floodgates for more conspiracy theories.

Another question on the minds of Americans is why this 20-year-old kid, with no history of violent behavior, would ever do such a thing. Investigators even noted in their reports that Lanza was never violent, but often required special tools to avoid hurting himself by accident.

To this day, Americans are still asking themselves why anyone would do such a thing. Nearly five years later, and we still have no motive and no clear cause as to what made this person snap.

The Free Thought Project will continue to dig into the heavily redacted documents and we will issue updates as appropriate.

Cop Who Killed Unarmed Dad Begging for His Life Claims Showing Jury Body Cam is “Unfair”

body cambody cam

Phoenix, AZ —  In March of 2016, Mesa Police Officer Philip Brailsford was charged with second-degree murder for gunning down Daniel Shaver, an innocent husband, and father of two. The shooting was captured on his body cam, part of which was released the following May.

Now, however, Brailsford’s defense is claiming that the prosecution showing the jury the body cam during opening statements would be unfair to the killer cop.

According to AZ Central, Brailsford, 26, is scheduled to stand trial starting Oct. 23 on a charge of second-degree murder. The trial is expected to last 16 days. In a memorandum filed in Maricopa County Superior Court on Monday, attorney Michael Piccarreta says prosecutor Susie Charbel plans to show an 18-minute police body- camera recording during her opening statement, scheduled for Oct. 25.

Piccarreta says in the memo “that it is extremely unfair to the defense” to show the video during the opening statement because that wouldn’t allow the defense lawyer to immediately cross-examine any witnesses about the footage.

However, the playing of the video is in line with standards of opening statements allowing the prosecution to establish their credibility in this case. The video of Brailsford killing Shaver will undoubtedly be at the very center of the case so the defense’s claim of not being allowed to cross-examine any witness about the footage is unfounded.

Regardless of when the body camera video is shown, it will be the first time the full, unedited version will be played.

Last year, an Arizona judge announced that they would be releasing the body camera footage showing Brailsford murder Shaver. When they did release it, however, the city released two videos, both of which were clearly edited and portions redacted.

Police said Shaver, a 26-year-old from Texas staying at the La Quinta Inn & Suites on a business trip on Jan. 18, 2016, had invited a couple he met to his room for drinks. No one was in any danger and the entire incident was a misunderstanding. For the majority of the video, police appear to be in a standoff with people who simply can’t hear them.

“Occupants of room 5-0-2, this is the Mesa Police,” the officer is heard yelling on the video, to which he receives no response.

“Listen to my instructions or it’s going to become very uncomfortable for you,” the officer said. “The female is to step outside the room.”

When ‘the female’ does step out the room, she is escorted away by an officer as she tells him how scared she is.

“I’m so scared,” she told the officer, clearly in shock with the multiple officers in the hallway responding to a hotel in which no crime had been committed and innocent people were simply sharing drinks.

Below are the redacted versions of the police body cameras.

The videos above clearly illustrate the intentions behind only releasing a portion of the body camera footage. It is made to look like it was an intense standoff as well as make the police look like heroes as they comforted the woman.

However, as we pointed out, it was likely that there was no standoff and they simply did not hear the officers. Also, the woman was most likely not scared of the man who she voluntarily consented to have drinks with — she was scared of the multiple armed men pointing AR-15s at them. This will likely come out when the defense is allowed to cross-examine her.

When Laney Sweet, Shaver’s wife originally asked to see the footage, she was told that if she watched it, she would be forced to remain completely silent about its contents.

During an interview with Maricopa County attorney, Bill Montgomery, Sweet was given the ultimatum — watch the disturbing video and never speak of it, or don’t. The widow of an innocent man, killed by the government, was told that the video proves her husband did not deserve to die. However, Sweet will now have to wait until the city decides to release the unedited version of the video to get closure—this would have been over a year.

In a statement to the press, the county stated that Daniel Shaver was complying with officers, crawling on his hands and knees and begged not to be shot, just before Brailsford opened fire.

“Please don’t shoot me,” Shaver is quoted in the police report.

However, last year, Brailsford’s attorney denied Shaver begged not to shoot him while at the same time thanking Superior Court Judge Sam Myers for not releasing the entire video.

On January 18, Brailsford, along with several other officers, responded to a call about a suspect with a rifle in a hotel room. The ‘rifle’ was nothing more than a pellet gun that was used in Shaver’s business of pest control, and Shaver was not in possession of the pellet gun when he was murdered in cold blood by officer Brailsford.

According to KTAR, Brailsford told investigators that Shaver was ordered to crawl toward officers with his hands on the ground, but the officer believed Shaver’s move forward was an attempt to get “a better firing position on us.”

The officer said he could no longer see Shaver’s right hand and worried that Shaver could have easily drawn on officers, who were just feet away in a hallway outside his room. However, none of the other officers fired, illustrating the lack of danger.

“So that’s when I assessed the threat. I fired my weapon, uh, five times,” Brailsford said, adding that it was terrifying the first time Shaver reached back.

Charging an officer with murder in Arizona is an exceptionally rare incident, which speaks to the severity of what must be shown on the body camera. It also means that this coward officer was in no danger when he decided to pull the trigger — 5 times.

Brailsford was fired from the department in March of 2016 for multiple policy violations not associated with the murder of Shaver. After he was fired, we learned that he should have never had a badge that night he killed an innocent man.

Aside from his unsatisfactory performance, records released by Mesa Police revealed that Brailsford was accused of beating three people a few months before he killed Shaver. He also etched “You’re Fucked” into his AR-15 police rifle — illustrating his disregard for human life.

Two children and a wife will now live the rest of their lives without their loving father because of the actions of this public servant. The one thing that could help get this family closure is to see the man who stole the life of their dad and husband put behind bars. Hopefully, this case ends differently than the countless cases before which ended with killer cops walking free for needlessly killing other human beings.

The Free Thought Project will continue to cover the trial as it unfolds next week.

Evidence Emerges Showing FBI Was Behind 2015 ISIS Terror Attack in Texas

FBIFBI

While questions remain as to whether the Federal Bureau of Investigation had prior knowledge of the Las Vegas shooting, the victim of another terrorist attack on United States soil is speaking out, and attempting to hold the FBI accountable for the suffering he endured.

In May 2015, two men opened fire outside of a provocative “Draw Muhammad” event in Garland, Texas. While the suspects were ultimately the only casualties, the attack is notable in that it became the first ISIS-claimed attack on American soil. It is also notable, because of the close proximity between an FBI agent and one of the suspects—both before and during the attack.

Bruce Joiner, a security guard who was shot and wounded after Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi opened fire outside of the event, is now suing the FBI for $8 million. He has filed a lawsuit claiming that FBI agents “solicited, encouraged, directed and aided members of ISIS in planning and carrying out the May 3 attack.”

As the Washington Examiner noted, if Joiner does not reach a settlement with the Bureau, the case could shake loose hundreds of documents from both local and federal officials about what happened that day, and could answer the question of why an FBI agent was in a car directly behind the attackers and did nothing as the events unfolded.”

Simpson gained the FBI’s attention a few years before the attack, as a Muslim who they saw as vulnerable to radicalization. In fact, FBI agents were reportedly monitoring him in the weeks leading up to the attack, and there was even an agent in a car following him to the scene, who did nothing to prevent the crime.

According to a report from CBS News, court records revealed that the FBI agent who was in the car directly behind Simpson and Soofi during the attack had “texted Simpson just weeks before with the message, ‘Tear up Texas,’” and he was even “taking pictures of the car about 30 seconds before the first shots were fired.” As soon as the suspects opened fire, the agent fled the scene.

As The Free Thought Project reported, both local law enforcement and the FBI did not respond to warnings from a woman connected to Anonymous, who cautioned that there was going to be an ISIS-inspired attack at the event—just days before it happened.

“The FBI helped the terrorists obtain a weapon that was used in the attack by lifting a hold during a background check, incited the terrorist to attack the Garland event, and even sent an agent to accompany the terrorists as they carried out the attack,” the lawsuit states, according to a report from the Washington Examiner.

The lawsuit also calls out former FBI Director James Comey, claiming that he worked to cover up the Bureau’s prior knowledge of the threat posed by Simpson:

“In the aftermath of the attack, former FBI Director James Comey lied to the American people by claiming that Simpson was a needle in a haystack’ that was ‘invisible to us.’ Even after it had come to light that an undercover FBI agent had been communicating extensively with the terrorists during the week prior to the event and had accompanied them as they carried out the attack, the FBI continued to assert that ‘[t]here was no advance knowledge of a plot to attack the cartoon drawing contest.’”

The issues alleged in the lawsuit could be explosive if the FBI is forced to acknowledge and respond. In addition to the accusation that the Bureau’s agents encouraged and directed the attack, the claim that the agents lifted a hold during a background check, in order to help Simpson and Soofi obtain the firearms used in the attack, is incredibly important. It is a reminder that even if gun control measures requiring strict background checks become law, the FBI has the power to bypass them, in order to serve their agenda.

As WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange recently noted, “Almost all ‘terror’ plots are created by the FBI as part of its business model.” While his comments were in reference to the Las Vegas shooting, the underlying principle applies to a number of both foiled and deadly attacks.

RFK Jr. Issues Report Showing Strong Evidence of Ongoing Corruption & Scientific Fraud At The CDC

Next Story

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, September 18, 2017
Contact: Lyn Redwood, 202-810-1826, Email

Kennedy hopes new evidence and a fresh look at criminal misconduct will result in law enforcement action, rigorous and transparent vaccine safety science, and safer vaccines.

Washington, DC – In a new report released today, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and his team outlined various criminal acts on the part of employees and consultants for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) whose questionable ethics and scientific fraud have resulted in untrustworthy vaccine safety science.

Among other information, Kennedy has found additional evidence of criminal activity by the CDC consultant, Poul Thorsen, the author and principal coordinator of multiple CDC studies exonerating the mercury-based preservative thimerosal in the development of autism.

The new evidence, recently uncovered by the World Mercury Project, shows that Thorsen and his collaborators did not obtain permission from an Institutional Review Board (IRB) to conduct their research, which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2002 and Pediatrics in 2003. In 2011, The Department of Justice indicted Thorsen on 22 counts of wire fraud and money laundering for stealing over $1 million in CDC grant money earmarked for autism research. The product of Thorsen’s work for CDC was a series of fraud-tainted articles on Danish autism rates that, today, form the backbone of the popular orthodoxy that vaccines don’t cause autism.

In 2009, when CDC discovered that Thorsen never applied for the IRB approvals, staff did not report the errors or retract the studies. Rather, FOIA documents show that CDC supervisors ignored the missteps and covered up the illegal activity.

This misconduct undermines the legitimacy of these studies which were used to refute vaccine injury claims in the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP). The studies were also used in the NVICP’s “Omnibus Proceeding” to dismiss 5000 petitions by families who claimed that their children had developed autism from vaccines. These claims, if settled in the claimants’ favor, would have resulted in payouts totaling an estimated $10 billion.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Chairman, stated, “World Mercury Project calls upon Attorney General Jeff Sessions to extradite Thorsen back to the U.S. to face prosecution. We also call upon Secretary of Health and Human Services Dr. Tom Price to retract the Thorsen-affiliated autism research papers that are the fruit of illegally conducted research.”

Evidence Showing The Germans Were Making “Flying Saucers” As Far Back As 1941

Next Story

“A German newspaper recently published an interview with George Klein, famous German engineer and aircraft expert, describing the experimental construction of ‘flying saucers’ carried out by him from 1941 to 1945.” (source)

Exotic technology has been around for a long time, and so have the agencies within the Department of Defense that use it. Just imagine what type of technology the NSA — an intelligence agency whose existence was denied until the mid-1960s — was using in the 1950s. Then there’s the National Reconnaissance Office, which was founded in 1960 but remained completely secret for 30 years. Secret technologies have been wrapped up in the Black Budget and Special Access Programs (SAPs) for years, and many of these SAPS remain unacknowledged by anybody within the government. They’re exempt from standard reporting requirements to Congress.

“It is ironic that the U.S. would begin a devastating war, allegedly in search of weapons of mass destruction, when the most worrisome developments in this field are occurring in your own backyard. It is ironic that the U.S. should be fighting monstrously expensive wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, allegedly to bring democracy to those countries, when it itself can no longer claim to be called a democracy, when trillions, and I mean thousands of billions of dollars have been spent on projects about which both the Congress and the Commander in Chief have been kept deliberately in the dark.”

– Former Canadian Defense Minister Paul Hellyer

When it comes to exotic aerial technology, there is no shortage of information. For examine, in the mid-1920s, Townsend Brown discovered that gravitational mass and electric charge are coupled. He found that when a capacitor is charged to a high voltage, it moves toward its positive pole. This became known as the “Biefeld-Brown” effect, which, like many new concepts today that challenge longheld belief systems (that then become scientific dogma), was opposed by conventional-minded physicists of his time.

As Theodore C. Loder, a Professor Emeritus of Earth Sciences at the University of New Hampshire, states:

The Pearl Harbor Demonstration. Around 1953, Brown conducted a demonstration for military top brass. He flew a pair of 3-foot diameter discs around a 50-foot course tethered to a central pole. Energized with 150,000 volts and emitting ions from their leading edge, they attained speeds of several hundred miles per hour. The subject was thereafter classified. Project Winterhaven. Brown submitted a proposal to the Pentagon for the development of a Mach 3 disc shaped electrogravitic fighter craft. Drawings of its basic design are shown in one of his patents. They are essentially large-scale versions of his tethered test discs.

German Flying Saucers

Here is an authentic image/story of a large UFO hovering over L.A., which was witnessed by 1 million people. Dubbed the “Battle of Los Angeles,” it was an event that showed us how the U.S. military was learning to lie about UFOs, five years prior to the Roswell Incident.

During World War Two, multiple strange sightings occurred, of disc-shaped objects travelling at incomprehensible speeds. When the Associated Press and New York Times covered the topic in 1945, they speculated the objects might be a new form of German weaponry.

There is no shortage of strange documents in the CIA’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) electronic reading room. Many reveal  the agency’s efforts to keep tabs on the technological developments of other countries, especially during and after World War II.

One document brings up a famous German engineer named Georg Klein, who, as the document states, expressed that “though many people believe the ‘flying saucers’ to be a postwar development, they were actually in the planning stage in German aircraft factories as early as 1941.”

The document then goes on to mention an experiment described by Klein:

“The “flying saucer” reached an altitude of 12,400 meters within 3 minutes and a speed of 2,200 kilometers per hour. Klein emphasized that in accordance with German plans, the speed of these “saucers” would reach 4,000 kilometers per hour. One difficulty, according to Klein, was the problem of obtaining the materials to be used for the construction of the “saucers,” but even this had been solved by German engineers toward the end of 1945, and construction on the objects was scheduled to begin, Klein added.

Three Different Models

According to Klein, by 1944 the Germans had already built three saucers for testing. Were these the “foo” fighters all of these American pilots were reporting?  The document describes the three disks:

One type actually had the shape of a disc, with an interior cabin, and was built at the (unidentified) factories, which had also built the V2 rockets. This model was 42 meters in diameter. The other model had the shape of a ring, with raised sides and a spherically shaped pilot’s cabin placed on the outside, in the center of the ring . . . [and] both models had the ability to take off vertically and to land in an extremely restricted area, like helicopters.

The engineers were ordered to destroy these saucers, including all of the plans for them. “The engineers at the Mite factories in Breslau, however, were not warned in sufficient time of the Soviet approach, and the Soviets, therefore, succeeded in seizing their material. Plans, as well as specialized personnel, were immediately sent directly to the Soviet Union under heavy guard.”

German Saucer Technology Has Been in the Lore for a Long Time

Aviation writer Nick Cook is one of many to have investigated this topic, and in 2002 he came to the conclusion that the Nazis had experimented “with a form of science the rest of the world had never remotely considered” and which continues to be suppressed today.

It makes you wonder what the United States received given that, through Operation Paperclip, a number of top German scientists were transported to the United States.

“[Italian researcher] Renato Vesco argued that Germans had developed antigravity. Disc-shaped and tubular craft were built and tested near the end of the Second World War, which, he argued, was the proper explanation of foo fighters. These concepts, he maintained, were developed by the Americans and Soviets and led directly to flying saucers.”

Another researcher Joseph P, Farrell, a professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkely, believes that some of the Nazi’s developments were

  • A means to tap into zero-point energy, or to phrase it differently, the energy of the physical medium of space-time itself
  • As a means to manipulate gravity itself, i.e. as an advanced prototypical field propulsion technology; and,
  • As a means to the ultimate, potentially planet-busting, weapons

Former head of the CIA Roscoe Hilenkoetter put it best in 1960 when he told the nation that “behind the scenes, high ranking air force officers are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense.” (source)

UFOs, Manmade or Extraterrestrial?

“Oh yes we discuss it at every conference that we had with the military, and they never were able to make me a concrete report on it. . . . There’s always things like that going on, flying saucers and they’ve had other things, you know.”

– President Harry Truman

I’ve been researching the UFO/extraterrestrial phenomenon for more than two decades now, and the more I do, the more I realize just how little I know, and how much information is out there that I have yet to examine. What I have learned, from documents like the one above, is that many of these crafts are most likely manmade, by our own agencies.

That being said, although UFOs are now officially verified, this wasn’t so just a few years ago. Just as there was evidence for the UFO phenomenon when it was ridiculed, so too does the extraterrestrial hypothesis have plenty of evidence to back it up, despite not being accepted by the mainstream yet.

I’ve covered why I believe so in many of my articles, most of which you can find in the exopolitics section of our website.

I’ll leave you with a couple of my favourite quotes.

“It is my thesis that flying saucers are real and that they are space ships from another solar system. I think that they possibly are manned by intelligent observers who are members of a race that may have been investigating our Earth for centuries.”

– Hermann Oberth , the founding father of rocketry and astronautics

There is abundant evidence that we are being contacted, that civilizations have been monitoring us for a very long time.”
