Viral ‘grad with rifle’ image continues to cause a stir as Jim Carrey joins the debate

Carrey, best known for comedies such as ‘The Mask’ and ‘Bruce Almighty,’ is also a prolific painter. His politically charged art often mocks conservative politicians, such as President Donald Trump and Senator Marco Rubio. On Friday, he took a jab at Bennett by depicting her with a deformed face, standing alongside a demon-like figure. “Thanks a bunch Goldilocks. Enjoy the show in Santa Fe tomorrow. Someday, real soon, I’ll have you for dinner,” the actor wrote on Twitter, apparently referencing the recent high school shooting in Texas, which claimed 10 lives.

Carrey’s stunt received a mixed reaction on social media. Some praised his message, commending the Hollywood star for speaking out against guns and promoting the call for tighter gun control.

Others voiced disappointment with the actor’s actions, accusing him of bullying, and defending Bennett’s right to bear arms.

Bennett herself was quick to respond to Carrey’s attack. “Jim you should be the one in this picture with this caption,” the 22-year-old wrote. “You’re the one that supports gun control policies that let these kids die. Is this what you have to do because you’ve become irrelevant? Disgusting.”

Bennett became a media sensation a week ago, when she donned a white dress with an AR-10 semi-automatic rifle strapped to her back, while graduating from Kent State University in Ohio. As she posed for photographs, she had “come and take it” written on her graduation cap. It was a protest against the university’s gun rules, the young woman explained. Kent State allows guests to carry firearms on campus, but not students or staff. Bennett considers the policy “insulting” and insists it makes students less safe.

The photo went viral. As of May 20, it got 28,000 “likes” and was retweeted more than 6,800 times. Bennett was met with cheers for standing up for gun rights. The image also sparked controversy for its gun-friendly nature, as it was posted several months after the deadly Parkland school shooting in February. As a result, Bennett – who was a conservative activist on campus and now holds a biology degree – received death threats. The ensuing backlash led to the right-wing group the Oath Keepers offering her free protection.

Waffle House Customer Hailed A Hero After Wrestling Rifle Away From Shooter

A 29-year-old man is being hailed as a hero after he single-handedly disarmed a gunman inside of a Tennessee Waffle House Sunday morning during a deadly attack that left four people dead and two others injured.

James Shaw Jr. said he was dining at the restaurant near Nashville with a friend when suspected gunman Travis Reinking, armed with an AR-15, opened fire at people outside and then inside the establishment just before 3:30 a.m.

Shaw said he jumped behind a nearby door and suffered a minor gunshot wound to his arm in the process. As he waited to see if he would live or die, Reinking’s gun appeared to jam, giving him a chance to charge.

“It was about that time that I made up my mind ― because there was no way to lock that door ― that if it was going to come down to it, he was going to have to work to kill me,” Shaw said at a press conference. “I rushed him and it actually worked out to my favor.”

Shaw tackled Reinking and grabbed the gun’s barrel with his bare hand, an act that badly burned him in the process.

Shaw said he didn’t feel the metal’s scorching heat on his skin. Instead, he continued to grip the firearm before tossing it over a counter. He then proceeded to physically remove Reinking out of the restaurant. Reinking disappeared on foot and remained at large as of late Sunday afternoon.

Asked by reporters if he had any military training or background, Shaw said no, but joked that he fights his 4-year-old daughter “every night, trying to get her to bed.”

“I’m not a hero, I’m just a regular person, and I think anybody could have done what I did if they were just put into that kind of cage,” he said. “I just wanted to live. I didn’t really fight that man to save everybody else. I know that may not be a really popular thing but I’m going to be honest.”

Nashville Police Chief Steve Anderson heard Shaw out but disagreed with his humble self-assessment.

“A real definition of a hero is someone that knows the danger that they’re facing and yet takes that action and certainly James did,” Anderson said.

Many others agree with Anderson, including Nashville Mayor David Briley.

“He saved lives, that is certain, and we are all thankful to him for his bravery,” Briley said at the press conference.

Waffle House CEO Walt Ehmer also praised Shaw.

“You don’t get to meet too many heroes in life Mr. Shaw, but you are a hero. You’re my hero,” Ehmer told him at the press conference. “You saved people’s lives, and I talked to some of those people you saved today, and they will think of you for the rest of their days, as will I. We are forever in your debt.”

Man Had 'AR-15-Styled Rifle,' Bump Stock Outside Indianapolis Hotel Before Women's March: Report

A 22-year-old man living in the U.S. illegally has been charged with a federal crime after police in Indianapolis, Indiana, found him in possession of guns on two occasions in January, The Indianapolis Star reported Sunday.

Police responding to a Jan. 20 call from security at the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Indianapolis saw Ahmed Alaklouk was in possession of a firearm described by the Star as “an AR-15-styled rifle,” which he reportedly told police was “fully tricked out.”

Alaklouk, described as as a Tunisian native and Saudi Arabian citizen in federal court documents obtained by the Star, had been renting a room at the Hyatt when hotel security contacted the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department around 3 a.m. after they saw several weapons in his parked truck. There were six handguns in the backseat and an assault-style rifle in the front seat, according to the Star.

Police reportedly told Alaklouk to keep his firearms in a hotel safe and out of sight in his truck to avoid a potential break-in. Officers said the rifle had been modified to function like an AR-15 and was equipped with a scope, bipod and bump stock, reported the Star.

Federal law prohibits people in the U.S. illegally from possessing guns and ammunition, prompting federal prosecutors to file a federal gun charge against Alaklouk on Wednesday. U.S. Department of Homeland Security placed an immigration detainer in Marion County Jail for Alaklouk so he may be held in custody while federal agents obtain a warrant to begin deportation proceedings, the Star reported.

Hotel security reportedly contacted police a second time around 7:45 a.m. when they found Alaklouk’s rifle in the front seat of his truck again and were concerned about his hotel room overlooking the area where thousands of Women’s March participants were expected to gather hours later.

Police and hotel security then removed Alaklouk and two other unidentified men from the hotel, according to the Star.

AR-15-style rifles are often the weapon of choice for mass shooters, including the suspected gunman in last month’s deadly shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida.

Bump stocks are a type of gun modification that allow semi-automatic weapons to fire like automatic weapons. Stephen Paddock had outfitted his rifle with a bump stock, which enabled him to fire hundreds of rounds into a crowd of concertgoers at a music festival in Las Vegas last year.

The hotel’s general manager, Joe Pinto, confirmed the incident Monday in a statement emailed to HuffPost.

“At Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, the safety of our guests and colleagues is a top priority,” Pinto wrote. “On January 20, hotel security was alerted to firearms in a vehicle parked in the garage. The police department was in touch with the vehicle owner to notify him of the policy violation, which requires firearms to be unloaded and stored in a locked container, and the guest left the property soon after.”

A week later, police responded to another firearm-related incident involving Alaklouk roughly four miles west of the hotel. A woman called 911 after Alaklouk pointed his rifle at her and her father and threatened to kill them over a business disagreement at Alaklouk’s store, Medo Tire Shop, according to the Star.

Charges were filed against Alaklouk on behalf of the state on Jan. 31 in Marion Superior Court in Indianapolis. He is being charged with two felony counts of criminal confinement, two felony counts of intimidation, one felony count of unlawful possession of a firearm and a battery misdemeanor.

A representative for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed Alaklouk was arrested, but did not provide additional comment. Jennifer Lukemeyer, Alaklouk’s attorney in the criminal case, declined to comment.

13yo Ohio student sneaks rifle into school & fatally shoots himself in bathroom

school shooting

A 13-year-old student has died after shooting himself in the restroom of an Ohio middle school. The teen managed to take a large-caliber rifle unnoticed all the way to school just days after a horrific school shooting in Florida.

Seventh grade student Keith Simons died on Wednesday, the day after he had shot himself inside the bathroom of Jackson Memorial Middle School.

“I have a student who shot himself in the bathroom. He has a strong pulse but I need an ambulance,” a person seeming to be a school official told the 911 operator right after the incident, according to a recording circulating in local media. The 13-year-old took the 22-caliber long rifle from his mother’s house and smuggled it into school by concealing it beneath his clothes, according to police. The student took a school bus, but no one noticed the gun despite the boy having multiple conversations on the way.

“I think it’s important to know that he was in contact with numerous people on his way to school. He did ride the school bus to school, and nobody noticed that he had anything with him,” Jackson Township Police Chief Mark Brink told reporters. He added that the case is not being treated as a suicide so far and the police are waiting for the autopsy results.

Apart from the rifle, Simons had additional items in his backpack such as “bottle rockets” and batteries. However, nothing indicates that the student had a bomb, the police chief stressed. The police still have no clear picture of how the events unfolded before the boy came to school on Tuesday morning, according to Brink. The investigation is still ongoing with the officers trying to understand Simons’ motives.

The incident comes less than a week after a 19-year-old former student opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, killing 17 people and injuring over a dozen more. In the wake of that shooting an Ohio sheriff offered to organize conceal-and-carry classes for teachers hoping that it would prevent such tragedies in the future.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump echoed the proposal during a ‘listening session’ at the White House, where some Florida survivors were present. Trump believes that teachers “adept at firearms” could quickly “end the attack,” though the controversial proposal is still up for discussion.

The Silent ‘Stealth’ Survival Rifle That’s Compact And Lightweight, Too

Air rifles have been around for quite some time. The Austrian army equipped some of its units with air rifles in the early 1800s, and the Lewis and Clark expedition carried one on its westward journey. Back then, a huge flaw of the air rifle’s design was that it was delicate and had to be pumped over 100 times to fill its air reservoir.

I fondly remember my 10th birthday. It was the day I opened up that beautifully wrapped box to find a Crossman pump action air rifle. The rifle was capable of not just firing your standard BB, but also .177 pellets in single shot mode. I was given a carton of BBs, and a box of wad cutter pellets.

For that glorious summer I was Wyatt Earp, or a big game hunter in the Yukon. Many mourning doves fell to my deadly aim, as did a great many tin cans and hornet’s nests. The rifle was joined that winter by a pellet pistol and now I was armed for whatever situation boyhood could throw at me.

Be Prepared. Learn The Best Ways To Hide Your Guns.

Today, the pellet rifle is starting to come into its own among survivalists and hunters, and is seen as more than just a child’s tool before they own a real firearm – for a host of reasons.

The pellet rifle has proven itself to be a fine small game implement, and can feed a man lost in the woods on squirrel, grouse and rabbit. The pellet rifle is compact, and can allow the carrying of more ammunition than even a .22 long rifle, especially if it is pump-operated and does not employ C02 cartridges. And a pneumatic air rifle can deliver velocities within a range equal to that of many big game rifles.

It is not uncommon to see Internet photographs of hunters who use air rifles posing with their big game kills such as a wild boar or deer. No, I don’t recommend you take even the most powerful air rifle with you on your next Alaskan brown bear hunt. But a proper air rifle is suited to most game found in the lower 48 states and much of Canada.

Legendary Kalashnikov assault rifle to make licensed video game debut

Many popular video games such as Call of Duty, Counter-Strike and GTA use images of the AK-47 without official permission from Kalashnikov. Creators of video games now have to pay to use the Kalashnikov brand after the Russian arms maker obtained a new class trademark for its AK-47 and AK-74.

The new game, named Caliber, has been developed by a Russian IT firm 1C and Belarusian game maker Wargaming. The developers worked with Kalashnikov to create the most realistic likeness of the AK-47.

It will be an online shooter, with gamers divided into teams of four using exact replicas of the equipment of the special forces from different countries (Russia, the United States, Germany, Poland and Belarus).

The models of modern rifles, machine guns, and pistols, produced by the Kalashnikov Concern, will be used in the game under a company license.

The weapons will resemble the originals to the smallest detail, like loading, the firing rate, and time to change the magazine.

“We are trying to find out from the developers of small arms the design features that could have been missed by us when creating the game model, as well as to learn from the gunsmiths what they wanted to do for the fighter and what is the main distinguishing feature of this or that weapon,” creative producer of Caliber Albert Zhiltsov told

The Kalashnikov Concern says the company worked closely to make the weapons in the game the most authentic.

“To achieve this, we communicated with the developers for a long time, shared design documentation, corrected the details right up to recording the sounds of real product shots – all to ensure maximum authenticity,” said Vladimir Dmitriev, marketing director at the Kalashnikov Concern.

The Russian special forces in the game will be equipped with various guns, dependent on the period of history they represent.

“For example, the special forces of 2016 will be armed with AK-12 or AK-15. Those from 2004 will fight with AK-74, Pecheneg or SVD. Thus, we want to show a retrospective of the development of small arms,” said Zhiltsov.

Before Caliber, Kalashnikov rifles were featured in many other video games.

It can be found in many games from the Call of Duty series.

It appeared in the Max Payne games, where it is represented by the Chinese model Type 56.

Kalashnikov is also depicted in GTA 3, 4 and 5 as well as GTA San Andreas. It is simply called an “assault rifle” in those games.

Perhaps the best-known appearance of the Kalashnikov is in Counter-Strike. It is impossible to imagine the game without it.

WATCH: Cops Mistake Man for Suspect, Grind Muzzle of Rifle Into His Head

Grand Rapids, MI — Dramatic body camera footage released this week shows a Grand Rapids Police Officer holding the muzzle of his AR-15 rifle to the head of an unarmed man who was subdued, in a seeming attempt to torment him. On Tuesday, after they investigated themselves, Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker said—in spite of the glaring violation of rights caught on video—no charges will be filed against the officer.

“Placing the barrel of a gun on the head of a suspect being arrested is completely inappropriate, offensive, and against any training protocol put out by the Grand Rapids Police Department or any other department in Kent County,” Becker said in a statement on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

However, despite the officer’s actions being all those things, he will not face any legal consequences.

The incident happened on August 19 and appeared to be a case of mistaken identity. That night, officers were responding to a call of an alleged armed robbery and when they showed up they saw a 28-year-old homeless man who fit the description.

According to the report, the man was drunk and refused to cooperate by lowering and raising his hands. So, Sgt. Neil Gomez then deployed his taser and the man was immediately brought to the ground.

From this point forward, it should’ve been a simple procedure: place him and handcuffs and determine that he is not the man they are looking for.

However, that is not what happened. Instead, Officer Kevin Penn—seemingly drunk on his sadistic authority—began digging the muzzle of his rifle into the suspects head, tormenting him physically and verbally.

“Former Officer Penn took it one step further,” Becker wrote. “He put the barrel of his gun to the suspect’s head. … He indicated to investigators when interviewed he felt he had to place the gun there for fear of possibly hitting the other officers due to close proximity if he did have to fire, and to try and control the individual’s head as he was not complying with commands. This once again is nothing police are trained in, nor something that an officer is supposed to do, but the behavior does not rise to the level of a criminal offense under this set of facts.”

When watching the video, the idea that this officer’s behavior does not rise to a criminal offense is as insulting as it is asinine.

“The suspect makes a crying noise, and states, ‘That hurts bro,’ and Officer Penn immediately responds with, ‘Yes it does,’” according to an Internal Affairs report, obtained by MLive under a Freedom of Information request.

“The muzzle is still pressed against the suspect’s head and Officer (James) Smith tells Officer Penn, ‘All right Kevin’ and pushes the rifle away from the suspect’s head with his head,” an Internal Affairs report said.

“As Officer Penn moves back, the suspect continues asking what he did and states, ‘Man, that hurted man. …’”

The report stated and the video confirmed that the muzzle of the rifle was used to force the suspect’s head down. Luckily Penn did not kill the otherwise entirely innocent man.

The suspect was then arrested on the standard ‘resisting arrest’ charges and later released on his own recognizance. Because he was drunk, the suspect did not remember the incident, which is likely the reason he never filed a complaint. However, after the release of this video, all that may change once an attorney sees the possibility of such an open and shut case.

“We do not condone the behavior of the officer, nor should this been seen as approval for this technique in the future,” Becker wrote. “It is simply under these specific facts we are not charging the former officer … .”

The silver lining to this incident is, although Penn was allowed to resign without charges, he was at least caught because good cops saw his actions and reported him.

Recordings Reveal FBI Gave Man a Rifle, Urged Him to Carry Out Mass Shooting to ‘Defend Islam’

It’s become a near-weekly occurrence. Somewhere in some state, the FBI will announce that they’ve foiled yet another terrorist plot and saved lives. However, as the data shows, the majority of these cases involve psychologically diminished patsies who’ve been entirely groomed, armed, and entrapped by FBI agents. Simply put, the FBI manufactures terror threats and then takes credit for stopping them.

But what happens when they take it too far? What happens if the FBI actually tells someone to conduct a mass shooting? Well, in Milwaukee, WI, we are seeing this unfold first hand.

A little over two years ago, Samy Mohamed Hamzeh, 25, found himself in the midst of an FBI sting. Little did he know that he was being groomed for terrorism by the same government who claims to fight terrorism.

Hamzeh was born in the U.S. but lived much of his childhood in Jordan before moving to Milwaukee when he was 19. For four years, Hamzeh lived an entirely normal life, until one day, he was contacted by people who wanted to radicalize him and give him weapons.

The group, entirely controlled by the FBI was plotting to shoot up the Humphrey Scottish Rite Masonic Center during an event.

In February of 2016, the FBI announced they had foiled a terror plot by a man who was planning to kill at least 30 people to “defend Islam.” Americans cheered, and everyone felt safer — the FBI had saved us from extremists once again.

However, that’s not how things actually happened.

For months, two corrupt FBI informants goaded Hamzeh into obtaining weapons. According to his attorneys, hundreds of hours of recorded conversations show the FBI pressed Hamzeh into getting these weapons and eventually began pushing him to carry out a mass shooting.

Despite the intense peer pressure from people pretending that they were mass murderers, Hamzeh resisted. He didn’t even want the guns. Now, his attorneys have filed a motion to get him released on bond because they say he’s been set up.

The informants, the motion states, “frequently lobbied Hamzeh to get a machine gun despite his repeated protests that all he wanted was a legal handgun to protect himself.”

In spite of the FBI claiming Hamzeh was going to carry out a mass shooting — they were attempting to force him to do — the recordings, according to his attorneys, show he resisted and adamantly refused to ever participate in violence.

Even after the FBI announced their foiled terror plot, they were unable to charge Hamzeh with anything other than possessing a machine gun and a silencer. And even these items had been essentially shoved into his lap by the FBI.

As the Journal-Sentinel reports, a psychiatrist who evaluated Hamzeh in jail concluded he does not fit a profile of someone who would kill strangers and “has a strong moral code with a very prominent conscience and empathy.”

“There is also no evidence that Hamzeh ever made any plans or was doing anything other than making empty boasts to express his resentment about Israel or to gain attention,” reads their brief in support of the bond motion.

Hamzeh has now been in jail for a year and a half because the FBI tried to make him carry out a mass shooting that he didn’t want to do. And, he could be there much longer as each of the charges for the weapons — that he also did not want — carry 10 years a piece.

If Hamzeh never had any intention of carrying out a terror attack and the weapons were forced on him by the FBI, why on Earth would this be on the news and touted as some foiled plot?

Well, the answer to that is simple.

Former FBI assistant director Thomas Fuentes actually reveals the answer as he defends the tactics used by the FBI to set up poverty-stricken men by offering them large sums of money and weapons to commit crimes.

After he defended the FBI’s role in bribing poor, mentally diminished people to get them to commit crimes, he let out a bombshell statement, confirming what many of us already know.

“If you’re submitting budget proposals for a law enforcement agency, for an intelligence agency, you’re not going to submit the proposal that ‘We won the war on terror and everything’s great,’ cause the first thing that’s gonna happen is your budget’s gonna be cut in half,” states Fuentes. “You know, it’s my opposite of Jesse Jackson’s ‘Keep Hope Alive’—it’s ‘Keep Fear Alive.’ Keep it alive.”

There you have it. The FBI puts Americans in danger by grooming otherwise entirely innocent people into doing harm — so they can keep fear alive.

But what would’ve happened if Hamzeh would’ve actually carried out this shooting that the FBI was trying to force on him? Would the FBI still claim they had informants attempting to groom him? Would they admit to forcing him to accept weapons?

David Steele, a 20-year Marine Corps intelligence officer, the second-highest-ranking civilian in the U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence, and former CIA clandestine services case officer, had this to say about these most unscrupulous operations:

“Most terrorists are false flag terrorists, or are created by our own security services. In the United States, every single terrorist incident we have had has been a false flag, or has been an informant pushed on by the FBI. In fact, we now have citizens taking out restraining orders against FBI informants that are trying to incite terrorism. We’ve become a lunatic asylum.”

Indeed, we’ve become a lunatic asylum.
