US law enforcement officials travel regularly to Israel to receive training

US Police and the IDF

As the death toll near the border in Gaza continues to grow, and Israeli military snipers shoot and kill innocent women and children, journalists, and nurses rendering aid to wounded victims, Americans should consider the influence Israeli forces are having on police in the United States, given the extensive training select law enforcement officials receive during seminars in Israel that have been ongoing for years.

It may sound like a “conspiracy theory,” but the close relationship between the U.S. and Israel-which costs American taxpayers nearly $4 billion a year-has extended to the training of law enforcement, and dozens of American officials are sent to Israel to train with Israeli law enforcement each year.

In September 2017, the Jerusalem Post reported that 52 American police officers from 12 states made a special trip to Israel “to train in counterterrorism techniques and attend an annual 9/11 memorial service outside Jerusalem” with the Police Unity Tour, which was established in 1997. During the trip, the delegation of officers was based at the Beit Shemesh police academy where they participated in counterterrorism drills and received training from Israeli military and police before they concluded on Sept. 11 with a 9/11 memorial service.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told the Post that he believes the “ongoing security threats” in Israel present the perfect situation for officers from around the world to receive training that will shape the way they view their jobs at home.

“In terms of counterterrorism tactics that have been used and implemented at numerous scenes across the country, where unfortunately terrorist attacks have taken place, the Israeli police have used those tactics to minimize injuries, as well as find rapid solutions,” Rosenfeld said.

The National Counter-Terrorism Seminar included training on topics such as “leadership in a time of terror” and “balancing the fight against crime and terrorism.” More than 200 law enforcement executives from over 100 departments in the United States-including immigration officials and campus police-have participated in the program since it launched in 2004, according to a report from The Intercept:

“In the aftermath of 9/11, Israel seized on its decades-long experience as an occupying force to brand itself as a world leader in counterterrorism. U.S. law enforcement agencies took the Jewish state upon its expertise by participating in exchange programs sponsored by an array of pro-Israel groups, like the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs, and the Anti-Defamation League. Over the past decade and a half, scores of top federal, state, and local police officers from dozens of departments from across the U.S. have gone to Israel to learn about its terrorism-focused policing.”

The training sessions began happening regularly after 9/11, and the Jewish Virtual Library noted that they have been presented as a way to show that “American police and law enforcement officials are taking advantage of Israel’s expertise in various facets of counter-terrorism and first response to better protect the American people.” A timeline from the Library highlighted how the program has developed over the years:

  • 2002 – Los Angeles Police Department Detective Ralph Morten visited Israel to receive training and advice on preparing security arrangements for large public gatherings.
  • 2003 – 33 senior U.S. law enforcement officials from cities including Washington, Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia, traveled to Israel to attend a meeting on “Law Enforcement in the Era of Global Terror.”
  • 2003 – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security established a special Office of International Affairs to institutionalize the relationship between Israeli and American security officials.
  • 2011 – A delegation of American police commanders, security experts and FBI agents, traveled to Israel for a joint training seminar with Israeli counter-terrorism officials, sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League.
  • 2012 – The New York Police Department opened an Israeli branch at the Sharon District Police Headquarters in the Israeli coastal city of Kfar Saba.
  • 2013 – A special team of bomb squad members from cities along the U.S.-Mexico border traveled to Israel to improve techniques and tactics for dealing with illegal immigration.

When David Grosso, a city council member in Washington D.C., learned that D.C. Metropolitan Police Commander Morgan Kane was a member of the 2017 trip, he wrote a letter to the department’s chief of police arguing that no matter where the training was taking place, the last thing the U.S. needs is more militarization among local police when what is actually needed is a community-based approach.

“I am concerned that we are not doing enough to prevent the militarization of law enforcement in the District of Columbia,”Grosso wrote. “Learning from military advisors is not what local law enforcement needs.”

Given the fact that police in the United States already have easy access to military equipment-in fact, a police department with only eight officers obtained $3 million worth of military vehicles, weapons, and equipment-the idea that departments are receiving extensive military training should raise major red flags.

The training seminars are also incredibly troubling because of the fact that American law enforcement officials are working alongside a military that openly promotes the idea that it is acceptable to shoot and kill both peaceful protesters and innocent women, children, journalists and medics who pose no threat to them whatsoever. Each police officer in the United States who adopts the mentality that such cruel and inhumane killings are justified will start to apply the same mindset to his fellow citizens, and he can no longer claim that his true intent is “to serve and protect.”

Trump to receive letter from Kim Jong-un, hopes to have summit on June 12

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Trump said that the North Korean delegates would be coming to Washington on Friday, bringing with them a personal letter from Kim to Trump. The president tweeted afterwards that meetings with the delegates had been going well so far.

A North Korean delegation is currently in the US as both countries scramble to restart plans for a historic summit between Trump and Kim. The summit had originally been planned for June 12 in Singapore, but was abruptly cancelled by Trump last week, in response to “tremendous anger and open hostility” from the Kim regime.

On Wednesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with North Korea’s Vice Chairman Kim Yong-chol to discuss reviving the summit. The pair met for dinner in New York, ahead of a full day of meetings on Thursday.

Passengers On Deadly Southwest Flight Receive $5,000 Checks

At least some passengers aboard a deadly Southwest Airlines flight have received $5,000 checks with “sincere apologies” from the carrier.

The airline issued the payments after a Tuesday flight from New York City to Dallas was rocked by an engine explosion in midair, killing one passenger. The crippled jet made an emergency landing in Philadelphia.

In a letter accompanying the checks, Southwest said the payment was a goodwill gesture for the ordeal, CNN reported.

“We value you as our customer and hope you will allow us another opportunity to restore your confidence in Southwest as the airline you can count on for your travel needs,” the letter said, according to recipient Kamau Siwatu. “In this spirit, we are sending you a check in the amount of $5,000 to cover any of your immediate financial needs.”

Siwatu was among three aboard the flight to confirm receiving the letter. They also got a $1,000 voucher for travel on Southwest.

The company verified the report, telling HuffPost in an email on Friday: “Ours is a company and culture built on relationships. Many of the Customers on that flight have flown with us before. We can confirm the communication and gesture are authentic and heartfelt.” The airline declined further comment.

Aviation attorneys told USA Today on Thursday that passengers could likely collect millions of dollars in legal damages from Southwest.

Metal fatigue on a fan blade that snapped in the engine is suspected to be the culprit. Broken parts smashed into the fuselage, breaking a window, and a passenger who was partially sucked through the opening died from blunt impact.

Southwest had previously balked at the engine manufacturer’s recommendation for quicker inspections of the fan blades, The Associated Press reported.

This article has been updated to include comment from Southwest.

‘Lucky’ Larry Silverstein Set to Receive Another $95 Million in New 9/11 Settlement

New York, NY – Notorious New York City businessman, and World Trade Center developer Larry Silverstein, scored another post 9/11 windfall this week, after Silverstein properties reached a $95 million dollar settlement in a civil litigation suit against American Airlines and United Continental Holdings.

The settlement, filed Tuesday with the U.S. District Court in Manhattan, comes after 13 years of ‘hard fought’ litigation. In an email to Reuters, Silverstein properties’ spokesman Bud Perrone said,

“We are pleased to have finally reached a resolution to this piece of post-9/11 litigation,”

Silverstein, who signed a 99 year lease on the World Trade Center just 2 months prior to the attack, has received Over 4.5 Billion dollars stemming from post 9/11 lawsuits. In May of 2007, CBS Moneywatch reported:

“The state and seven insurers have reached a settlement that secures more than $4.5 billion in funding to rebuild ground zero.

About $2.55 billion has already been paid out by two dozen insurers since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that destroyed the twin towers. The remaining insurers agreed to pay $2 billion and drop several court battles over how much they owe in insurance to replace the trade center.”

Despite reports of financial trouble, Silverstein opened the rebuilt World Trade Center One in 2014 after reaching out to the New York Port Authority for financial assistance.

While there are hundreds of ‘conspiracy theories’ surrounding Larry Silverstein and the 9/11 attacks, there are certain inconsistencies in the ‘official story’ that remain unanswered over a decade after that tragic day.

Here are six hard-hitting facts that the mainstream media and the political powers have relentlessly attempted to keep hidden from the public.

Fact 1:

Coming in at number 1 is perhaps one of the most perplexing of all the facts. Amazingly enough, some folks still believe that only two towers fell that day. The fact that Tower 7, a 47-story building, collapsed, was but a small blip in the media. Since 9/11, World Trade Center Tower 7 is rarely, if at all mentioned in the mainstream media.

Insanely enough, when tower 7 is mentioned to some people, they think that it’s a conspiracy theory that it fell.

However, Tower 7, which was not hit by a plane, in fact, collapsed into its own footprint at free fall speed.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology, (the government agency assigned to investigate the building collapse in the video above) attributes the collapse to the failure of a single column, in a complex scenario involving thermal expansion of beams supporting the column, caused by office furniture burning; a theory that is largely disputed by many experts.

BBC, CNN, FOX, and MSNBC reported the collapse of WTC 7 — well before it happened.

Fact 3:

The 911 commission was railroaded. Not only were the commissioners given extremely limited funds to conduct their investigation, but they were also met with dead ends in almost every direction.

For starters, only $15 million was given to investigate 9/11. Compare that to the over $60 million that was spent investigating Clinton’s affairs with Monica and the travesty becomes greater. This was the largest act of murder in recent US history, and more money was spent investigating a philandering president!

Also, Senator Max Cleland, who resigned from the 9/11 Commission after calling it a “national scandal,” stated in a 2003 PBS interview,

“I’m saying that’s deliberate. I am saying that the delay in relating this information to the American public out of a hearing… series of hearings, that several members of Congress knew eight or ten months ago, including Bob Graham and others, that was deliberately slow walked… the 9/11 Commission was deliberately slow walked, because the Administration’s policy was, and its priority was, we’re gonna take Saddam Hussein out.”

In 2006, the Washington Post reported that several members of the 9/11 Commission suspected deception on part of the Pentagon. As reported,

“Some staff members and commissioners of the Sept. 11 panel concluded that the Pentagon’s initial story of how it reacted to the 2001 terrorist attacks may have been part of a deliberate effort to mislead the commission and the public rather than a reflection of the fog of events on that day, according to sources involved in the debate.”

Fact 4:

Staying on the topic of the 9/11 commission, in 2004, President George Bush and VP Dick Cheney told the commission that they would not be formally interviewed in relation to the attacks on September 11.

On April 27, 2004 the White House released a statement saying there would be no recording or formal transcription of the interview. The duo also demanded to be interviewed together, against the wishes of the commissioners.

According to the New York Times,

Under a pact with the White House that allowed all its 10 members in the interview, the commission is permitted to take a note taker, but not a recording device. The panel said it did not press for a formal transcription of the session, letting the White House decide.

Fact 5:

After the myriad of holes began to form in the official narrative, several dedicated engineers and architects took to their own investigation. Today, there are over 2,300 architects and engineers who’ve signed on to the initiative, all declaring the official story to be false.

Fact 6:

The US government admitted they covered up the fact that the Saudi Arabian government supported the hijackers.

“I had to stop every couple pages and…try to rearrange my understanding of history. It challenges you to rethink everything.” – Congressman Thomas Massie describing his experience reading the 28 pages in March 2014.

“The 28 Pages” – part of an 838-page Joint Inquiry into Intelligence Community Activities Before and After the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001 – have been kept almost entirely classified since 2002.

Former Sen. Bob Graham, a co-chairman of the investigation committee and strong advocate of declassifying the information, said, “The 28 pages primarily relate to who financed 9/11 and they point a very strong finger at Saudi Arabia as being the principal financier.

In July, the 28 pages were finally released, although many parts are still redacted. They show that Graham was right—several figures in the Saudi Arabian government provided assistance to the 9-11 hijackers from within the U.S.

There is information, primarily from FBI sources, that at least two of those individuals were alleged by some to be Saudi intelligence officers,” reads the first of 28 pages. “The Joint Inquiry’s review confirmed that the Intelligence Community also has information, much of which has yet to be independently verified, indicating that individuals associated with the Saudi Government in the United States may have other ties to al-Qa’ida and other terrorist groups.

‘I’d receive 200 messages threatening rape every day’: Online abuse of women laid bare in new report

An Amnesty poll asked 504 women aged 18 to 55 in the UK about their experiences of online abuse to “investigate this emerging violation of … human rights.” It found that one in five women said they had experienced abuse or harassment through social media.

Young women aged between 18 and 24 are particularly affected, Amnesty says, with more than one in three (37 percent) saying that they had experienced online abuse. One-third (36 percent) felt their physical safety had been threatened, while more than half (55 percent) suffered stress, anxiety or panic attacks as a result of the abuse.

Barbara Ntumy, race campaigner and executive of pro-choice charity Abortion Rights, says she has received numerous messages harassing her online. She added that she has also been abused on live TV for saying Britain should open its borders to refugees. Former British National Party (BNP) member Jack Buckby told her: “Take in a Syrian refugee. I hope you don’t get raped.”

“[The interaction with Jack Bucky on Channel 4 in February] proceeded with several tweets for several weeks implying I was too ugly as a black woman to be raped,” Ntumy told RT. She added that as a Jeremy Corbyn supporter, “that too has come with lots of online abuses along racist and sexist lines.”

Laura Bates, founder of the Everyday Sexism Project, said when she started the project – before it had become particularly high profile – she was receiving around 200 abusive messages a day. She said those messages would include detailed, graphic and explicit descriptions of rape and domestic violence. She added that in some cases, they would post as her online and post very explicit, sexual stories.

“I found it difficult not to be scared about my safety initially. When people started talking about how they would track me down using the IP address of Everyday Sexism Project, my partner and I actually moved out of our flat for a short time. I also received a number of [threatening] messages about snipers and found it difficult to walk around the city with tall buildings without looking over my shoulder,” Bates told Amnesty.

She added that young women and teenage girls are experiencing online harassment as a normal part of their existence online. “Girls who dare to express opinions about politics or current events often experience a very swift, misogynistic backlash. This might be rape threats or comments telling them to get back in the kitchen. It’s an invisible issue right now, but it might be having a major impact on the future political participation of those girls and young women.”

Seyi Akiwowo, a London councillor and founder of Glitch UK, which aims to end online violence against women, has also spoken out about abuse she has received. After a video of her speaking on the refugee crisis at the European Parliament went viral earlier this year, she was “caught up in a storm of abusive comments and mob-style harassment.”

She told Amnesty researchers: “I was called several variations of the N word, N*gger, Negros, N*ggeress. They told me to ‘f*ck off back to Africa and die there you useless parasite’ and … ‘Lol kill yourself.’ They also asked me: ‘Which STD will end your miserable life? And ‘what a giant gas chamber! When will it be commissioned?’

“They hoped for: ‘the nest Ebola outbreak,’ that I ‘get lynched you stupid nog,’ and that ‘if all whites agreed that the best course of action would be to exterminate blacks, we could do it in a week.’ Throughout this experience I learned a new word – ‘misogynoir.’ It is racialized misogyny that many black women face. This word perfectly captured by horrible experience.”

Amnesty has said that online abuse against women is not just an experience of gender. Women of color, religious or ethnic-minority women, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or intersex women, women with disabilities or non-binary individuals who do not conform to traditional gender norms of male and female will also experience online abuse.

SHOCKER: High rate of miscarriages among pregnant women who receive flu shots

If you were told that obediently getting your flu shot every year would give you a 40 to 60 percent shot at avoiding the flu (or zero, if the experts get it wrong that year), but would double your chances of having a miscarriage one day, would you find those odds acceptable? Many women would be appalled if that were true, and would avoid getting the flu shot at all costs. Well, a recent study, published in the journal Vaccine, has reached exactly that conclusion (though everyone seems to be doing their level best to deny the study’s results).

It is incredibly important to note right at the outset that this study was funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – the very body that determines the country’s annual vaccination schedule, and the biggest vaccine pusher out there. (Related: Flu facts they don’t want you to know about.)

The Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP), which is pro-vaccines, recently reported:

A study published today in Vaccine suggests a strong association between receiving repeated doses of the seasonal influenza vaccine and miscarriage. [Emphasis added]

This is an unambiguous warning about repeated doses of the flu vaccine for women planning to have a baby. Nonetheless, the article’s author very quickly tried to soften the blow and protect vaccine industry interests. (Related: Discover the truth at

Almost immediately, Stephanie Soucheray, who wrote the CIDRAP article, quoted the lead author of the study as saying that this is not a “causal relationship.” She then interpreted his comment, claiming that “the data don’t necessarily show that the flu vaccine causes miscarriages.”

This is a direct contradiction of her opening remarks, as quoted above.

The study, which was led by James Donahue, DVM, PhD, MPH, a senior epidemiologist at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin, was conducted over the 2010 to 2012 flu seasons, and compared 485 women who had experienced early miscarriage to a number of women who had carried babies to term (either born alive or stillborn).

The research team’s aim was to investigate whether miscarriage was more likely to occur within 28 days of a woman receiving the flu vaccine.

The results were startling.

For women who had not received a flu shot in the previous year, there was no increased risk of miscarriage. However, women who received back-to-back shots, one of which was the vaccine against the 2009 H1N1 virus, had an adjusted odds ratio (aOR) of 7.7 compared to an aOR of just 1.3 for women who had not been vaccinated during the previous flu season.

The CIDRAP propaganda piece went on to note, “The overall aOR in the 28-day window was 2.0, or double the risk,” but then went on to claim that these results were “not statistically significant.” [Emphasis added]

Soucheray then claimed that the study should essentially not be taken seriously because:

  1. Previous research into a correlation between the flu vaccine and miscarriage did not find the same link; and
  2. It’s likely that only women who would get the flu shot would report it if they had experienced a miscarriage. This, she claims, would skew the results towards an association that isn’t really there. i.e. If you don’t get the flu shot you’re likely ignorant and uneducated and unlikely to report something as massive as a miscarriage to your attending physician.

The CIDRAP article closed off neatly with an admonition to still get your flu shot, and stressed that there was “no change to recommendations.”

The thing is, even the CDC, which stresses the need for pregnant women to be vaccinated against the flu because of its myriad complications in pregnancy, only promises:

Studies in young healthy adults show that getting a flu shot reduces the risk of illness by 40% to 60% during seasons when the flu vaccine is well-matched to circulating viruses.

What that essentially means is that getting the flu shot gives a pregnant woman a 50/50 shot at preventing the virus, and then only if the vaccine is “well-matched to circulating viruses.”

Before every flu season, experts have to essentially guess which three flu strains are likely to dominate and create a vaccine accordingly. This process is random at best, and with only a 50/50 chance of success, but a 200 percent risk of increased miscarriage, it is something that those hoping to fall pregnant in the future need to weigh very carefully.
