US will move embassy to Jerusalem next year – Vice President Pence

Pence’s remark was made during a visit to Jerusalem on Monday, which is part of his official visit to the Middle East.

“In the weeks ahead, our administration will advance its plan to open the US embassy in Jerusalem – and that United States embassy will open before the end of next year,” he said in a speech to the Israeli parliament in Jerusalem, as quoted by Reuters.

“Jerusalem is Israel’s capital – and, as such, President Trump has directed the State Department to begin initial preparations to move our embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem,” he added, declining to give an exact date of when the embassy would open.

It comes after US President Donald Trump officially recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in early December, prompting protests in the West Bank and around the world.

President Trump Drops NUCLEAR BOMB on Vaccine Mandates…

Wars are won by making political alliances.  If our side EVER wants to win we need to understand that simple fact.

By Kent Heckenlively, JD

It’s not the differences with your allies which should worry you, but the DESTRUCTION your common enemy has planned for everybody who is even remotely on your side.

With the establishment on Thursday of the Conscience and Religious Freedom Division in the Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights, Trump has laid the groundwork to smash every single vaccine mandate as well as turn BIG PHARMA into little pharma.

Don’t think this new division of Conscience and Religious Freedom at HHS is a big deal?

THINK AGAIN.  It gives many different groups a BIG TENT under which to fight.  I think it is time that Christians and Libertarians, and people of other religious faiths realize that we have a COMMON INTEREST in fighting against a FASCIST HEALTH ESTABLISHMENT.

Video Player

Yes, we should protect Catholic nuns who don’t want to buy an insurance plan that provides for birth control.  And we should protect nurses who don’t want to take part in abortions.  And we should protect those who do not want vaccines with aborted human tissue injected into their children, Muslims and Orthodox Jews who do not want vaccines with pig products, vegans who do not want  vaccines made with ANY animal products, or the conscientious parent who does their own research and comes to the conclusion that ALL VACCINES ARE A REALLY BAD IDEA.

Is it clear by this time I believe all of you are capable of coming to your own conclusions about vaccines?  I have my own opinion and I am happy to share, but I will not impose my will upon any other person.

Here’s why this is such a BIG DEAL.

The House Majority Leader, Kevin McCarthy (R – California) is one of the people who worked on this project.  Do you think he is unaware of the draconian mandatory vaccine law in California which took away religious and philosophical (conscience) exemptions?

This new division at HHS is a HOME RUN for all those who believe in HEALTH FREEDOM.

In a press release put out on Thursday by the HHS Office for Civil Rights, Director Roger Severino said,

“Law protecting religious freedom and conscience rights are just empty words on paper if they aren’t enforced.  No one should be forced to choose between helping sick people and living by one’s deepest moral or religious convictions, and the new division will help guarantee that victims of unlawful discrimination find justice.  For too long, governments big and small have treated conscience claims with hostility instead of protection, but change is coming and it begins here and now.”

In an article for TownHall, House Majority Leader, Kevin McCarthy was very explicit.

“In the past this office sent the message, now is not the time for freedom, it is time for you to conform.  What a difference one year makes.”

Dr. Everett Piper of Oklahoma Wesleyan University echoed these comments and brought a laugh to the group by noting what a difference it was to be thanking Health and Human Services rather than suing them.

The acting Health and Human Services Secretary, Eric Hargan, also had some remarkable words:

“For too long too many of these healthcare practitioners have been bullied and discriminated against because of their religious beliefs and moral convictions leaving many of them to wonder whether they have a future in our healthcare system.  When faithful Americans are bullied out of the public square and out of public service, when bigotry is allowed to flourish, we all lose.”

(“Members of Congress Explain Need for New HHS Conscience and Religious Freedom Division,” By Lauretta Brown, TownHall, January 18, 2018.)

The lawyer in me recognizes expansive legal language and my little litigator’s heart rejoices with the arguments I can spin from it.

All Signs Are Pointing to a Coup Against President Trump

New intelligence information is coming and this is the latest of what we know about the Sam’s Club closings and all signs point to a coup against Trump.

This story starts with an anecdotal account of man making a Youtube video  in which he claims that a Cleveland area Walmart has information from 3 employees about a weapons cache of M-16’s and automatic weapons discovered in a seldom used office at a Walmart. The weapons crates which were happened upon by the employees contained crates labled as “FEMA”. The office was segregated by the use of an electronic keypad and the video evidence was scrambled and and the supposed evidence was scrambled.

There are such security systems employed by FEMA and several sources I spoke with during the infamous Jade Helm 15 and 16 contained similar Walmart content and similar security provisions.

On the surface, this video appears to lack credibility and ordinarily I would ignore its content in the form that it was sent to me. However, I have received two anonymous tips, one was highly credible, regarding the Sam’s Club closings which are owned by Walmart.

There are some undeniable facts that must be considered as we ponder why so many of Walmart’s Sam’s Clubs were swiftly and unexplainably closed despite many of the stores being profitable.

E-commerce venues are replacing the retail volume of the brick and mortar stores. Amazon is dominating E-commerce. Google has inserted themselves into the online, retail market. Because Google controls 80% of all internet search engin traffic, Google expects to close the gap with Amazon in competition for this market. Further, the Independent Media is all to aware of how Google censors Internet content through the AI systems employed by Google in which they redirect organic traffic way from an undesirable site.. The same strategy can be employeed by Google against Amazon and Walmart.

Walmart has entered the E-commerce competition as the third player. On the surface, it appeared to me that Walmart was closing Sam’s Club stores in an effort to move toward more of an online presence. But upon further examination, Sam’s Club is profitable.

Therefore, I first believed that this was no more than a retail war between 3 giant corporations. However, over the past 3 weeks I have received number numerous tips which now have my attention. This is a case of history repeating itself. Here is an excerpt from an article I wrote in the summer of 2015 regarding the Jade Helm drills.

As stated, on June 2, 2015, with regard to the goings on at the Midland Walmart, I published the text of 3 communications sent to be by a man who called himself “Watcher” (to view the entire text of “Watcher’s” communications, click here). Watcher claimed to work for a private contractor who has previously done highly secure projects for DHS, DOD, etc.

To summarize Watcher’s anonymous claims, he stated the following:

1. The ventilation system at the Walmart was being replaced by a different system. The photographic evidence, offered below, clearly supports Watcher’s claim of changing out the ventilation system.

2. He claimed that guard towers were being constructed in each of the corners of the store. The photographic evidence provided by Marlon Brock is inconclusive on this point. However, one of photos show poles on the inside of the store extending upward, but we cannot see up to the roof.

3. Watcher stated that “All the display counters and shelves from this Walmart have been taken out of the store. The story that they are saying about plumbing is BS”. Several of the Brock photos support this claim beyond a shadow of a doubt (see photos of trucks hauling out the shelving from the Midland Walmart).

4. Watcher further stated that “…inside the building, I have seen men with DHS badges which we are used to seeing in the jobs that we do. This time we are also seeing men with United Nations badges and they wear the shirt and tie and like the DHS guys they have their construction helmets on as they appear to be planning as much implementing. The place is guarded by private contractor armed with automatic weapons. I have not seen one military person on the inside in uniform.  It is all DHS, UN and us in this building. The organization affiliation of anyone inside the store cannot be confirmed from the Brock photos except for the private security company photos taken by Brock. The security firm was described in the June 2nd article as being very mysterious.

Following these anonymous revelations that claimed that the Midland Walmart, which was closed for bogus plumbing issues, was transformed into a Fema camp ready facility. A private citizen named Marlon Brock followed up with very damning photos.

Now, we have similar reports about the Sam’s Club closings.

During Jade Helm, the closed Walmart stores remained very suspicious and drew much attention away from the public. During the renovations, the stores were guarded on the outside by private security firms with ties to the Pentagon and some of their special projects.

Dovetailing on the review of the Walmart clsores from nearly 3 years ago, the Sam’s Club closings have taken on a life of their own. I have concluded that the Sam’s Club closings were related to Jade Helm closings.

I received an email from dead email address. The person sending the email identified themselves as a FEMA Incident Commander. I would like to publish the email in as I received it, however, the email came with a request to not copy and paste the entire email.

Effectively, this person has served in FEMA supervisory positions for various disaster incidents. I was requested to not list the specific events. The means and method that this person used to reach out to me is very consistent with similar contacts with the DEA and the Border Patrol.

I want to stress that I never will burn a source for a headline. However, I received very litle direction on permissible releases of information. I have taken 3 days to decide what I can safely reveal with exposing the identity of this whistle-blower. I have decided to get to the bottom line without building the case that this informant walked me through.

If this email contains conent that is true, and it is consistent with other reports, we are on the verge of a Presidential coup (my interpretation of the facts, not directly stated by the source). However, this source steadfastly maintains that the Sam’s Clubs will serve multiple functions and this is very consistent with Jade Helm. The stores are being retrofitted for differing purposes depending on the store. Some stores will serve as military supply depots where weapons are stored to be used by personnel that will one day occupy the stores. The stores will have work conducted by private contractors, in which the duties will be highly compartmentalized so as to not tip off the workers and then the public as to the true nature of the work.

The second, and more ominous purpose of the Sam’s Clubs will be to serve as holding stations for political prisoners (my term) and prisoners of war. The prisoners of war is a prejorative term. It means that some of us could be declared to be enemy combatants.

The source says that he has attended high level meetings in which the use of these stores has been discussed. The related documents are not distributed to the attendees for security reasons, but the source is trying to get his hands on the documents.

The information contained many operational details that I was told to not print directly because it could giveeaway the identity of the whistleblower. Suffice it to say, that I have previously written about some of these procedures in articles I have written on FM 39.4 which had to do with the organizational structure of traditional detention facilities called FEMA camps.

What this source does say is that these stores and their conversions are “ominous in their intent” and have raised serious concerns within FEMA. Another interesting point was that this source stated that the briefings never contain personnel that would report directly to the White House. I was told that for an operation of this magnitude, this is was highly unusual and very suspicious.

If I were practicing safe journalism, I would drop hints and then when this was fully exposed, I would rush in and say I reported this. In this instance, because the informationis so critical, I am taking chances by exposing this, however, I believe the cost of silence at this point could be devastating.

The President has survived two major attempts on his Presidency, namely, the Russian Collusion Delusion and the 25th Amendment challenge for mental incompentcy. What is Plan C? If it involves assassination, there will be dissenters in the streets and the need for camps would be obvious.

Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch stated that a mountain of evidence is coming out against Obama and will implicate him in many crimes against the American people. I am hopeful that this information will link Jade Helm, more conclusively, with the recent wave of closings.

Based on what I have learned and with discussions of known facts with trusted sources, I have formed some conclusions.

  1. The globalists have used almost all fheir strategies to unseat Trump and derail American populism.
  2. A coup and/or an assassination is all that is left.
  3. Many suspect that Trump and the President of China secretly conspired to get the two Koreas to cooperate in the upcoming Olympics as a first step to avoiding war. This would draw the extreme ire of the Deep State that hell-bound for war.

I believe that the connecting of the dots points to a coup against Trump and a means to deal with the aftermath (FEMA camps).  Time will tell and I am hopeful that more information will be forthcoming. But even if there was not the Sam’s Club issue, we are clearly headed for a collision course with the Deep State. It is my sincere hope that these very early reports will call attention to the Deep State and force them to change course for when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Former Catalonian president threatened with arrest if he returns to Spain, says he’ll work from "afar"

Carles Puigdemont

Catalonia‘s former president, a fugitive sought by Spain over a foiled secession bid, will travel to Denmark next week for a university debate despite the possible risk of arrest, officials said Friday.

Carles Puigdemont plans to make the trip to Copenhagen as he tries to get his old job back and step up the pressure on Spanish authorities, which have said a fugitive abroad can’t be the Catalan regional president.

The University of Copenhagen announced a debate for Monday in the Danish capital on “Catalonia and Europe at a Crossroads for Democracy.” Janni Brixen, a media official with the university’s Faculty of Social Science, said Puigdemont would attend it “in person.”

A spokeswoman for Puigdemont’s party also confirmed that he was planning to travel to Copenhagen and attend the debate “representing the legitimate government of Catalonia.”

Puigdemont is being investigated by Spain for possible rebellion, sedition and embezzlement linked to a unilateral declaration of independence last fall in the northeastern Spanish region of Catalonia.

A Spanish Supreme Court judge dropped an extradition request to Belgium in December after it became clear that authorities in Brussels would probably agree to send him back but would restricted the crimes that he could be judged for in Spain.

The separatist politician still faces detention if he returns to Spain, but is free to travel elsewhere unless the judge re-activates the European and international arrest warrants against him. There was no sign of that being in the works on Friday.

Lawyer Paul Bekaert, who has represented Puigdemont in earlier extradition hearings in Belgium, declined to discuss his assessment of the risk that the trip posed. The Danish Ministry of Justice also refused to comment.

Puigdemont is seeking to be back in charge of affairs in Catalonia even if it is from self-imposed exile in Belgium.

“If I have to choose between being an inmate or a president, I’d rather be a president, even from afar,” he told Catalonia’s public radio Friday.

“At least now I can do things that I wouldn’t be able to do in prison,” he said, referring to the help that “new technologies” could provide.

The October secession attempt led Spanish central authorities to take direct control of Catalonia, disband its regional cabinet and call an early regional election.

The Catalan vote in December failed to break the political deadlock, granting separatists a slim parliamentary majority that in theory would allow them to form a government.

But with ousted Catalan Cabinet members under investigation, jailed or in Belgium and facing arrest if they return home, the regional parliament must decide by the end of January whether to permit Puigdemont’s re-election.

The chamber’s regulations are imprecise about what to do under such unprecedented situation.

On Friday, Puigdemont said separatist parties were studying whether parliamentary immunity could be invoked to allow his return without being arrested.

Spain’s central government has vowed to impede Puigdemont’s reinstatement by challenging it in courts if necessary and to keep direct control over the region until a new government takes over.

The host of the forum, Political Science Professor Mikkel Vedby Rasmussen, said the controversy around the former Catalan president was part of the reason why the University of Copenhagen had decided that a “healthy debate” was needed in an “open and mature environment.”

“Danish society is very much driven by consensus and for that effect we engage in endless deliberations,” Vedby Rasmussen told The Associated Press. “From that political perspective, both sides have been extremely confrontational, and that comes as something alien for Danish people who want to understand better what’s going on in Catalonia.”

President Trump Unveils Winners of 2017 Fake News Awards

When President Trump announced them in early January, many in the liberal media thought that the Fake News Awards were a bluff and he wouldn’t go through with them. But having been previously postponed, Trump unveiled the “winners” Wednesday night. Out of the top 10 instances of fake news, CNN was sloppy enough to win four awards with the top spot going to The New York Times. The awards twice noted a Media Research Center study that showed 90 percent of the media’s coverage of him was negative.

According to the President, The New York Times columnist and soothsayer economist Paul Krugman produced the number one fake news story on election night when he feverishly proclaimed: “If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never.” Looking back at this prediction on the day the stock market closed over 26,000 for the first time ever and Apple announced major investments in the U.S. due to the GOP tax cuts it’s easy to see Krugman’s ridiculousness.

Number two was ABC’s credibility shattering report by investigative correspondent Brian Ross, who excitedly yet falsely claimed that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn agreed to testify that candidate Trump directed him to contact the Russians. ABC President James Goldston was so furious that he suspended Ross for a month (over the holidays) and barred him from ever again reporting on Trump.

CNN’s first win showed up at number three. In this case, CNN’s Manu Raju shouted from the hilltops that Donald Trump Jr. was in possession of the hacked WikiLeaks e-mails long before they were released to the public. It didn’t take long for The Washington Post (and others) to blow the doors off the story and prove CNN was being anything but truthful. In the end, Raju and colleague Jeremy Herb kept their positions.

Time magazine came in at number four with their lie about Trump having Martin Luther King Jr.’s bust removed from the Oval Office. This wild claim came just two days into Trump’s presidency. Therefore, the media were so eager to smear him that many journalists didn’t search for the truth before they ran with it.

To round out the top five, Trump selected Washington Post reporter Dave Weigel who tweeted out a deceptive picture of a Trump rally in Pensacola, Florida. He claimed very few people showed up to see the President speak but the picture was from hours before the place ended up packed.

CNN won back-to-back awards as they took spots six and seven. First, CNN pushed a deceptively edited video that purported to show Trump crassly dumping fish food into a koi pound on his visit to Japan. Of course, they didn’t show that Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was the first to dump the food. Then the outlet claimed former Press Secretary Anthony Scaramucci had a secret meeting with a Russian, heads rolled as three CNN reporters were fired for this offense.

The eighth award went to the radical Newsweek, who fabricated an international handshake snub out of thin air. The even ran this loud headline: “WATCH DONALD TRUMP HANDSHAKE REJECTED BY POLISH FIRST LADY IN HILARIOUSLY AWKWARD EXCHANGE.”

CNN’s fourth award came at spot nine when their anonymous sources falsely claimed that former FBI Director James Comey would “refute” Trump’s claim that he was told three times he wasn’t under investigation. And when they were proven wrong, CNN issued a pathetic “correction” (with the story’s byline featuring chief political analyst Gloria Borger and The Lead host Jake Tapper).

The New York Times bookended the top ten with a false claim that the Trump administration was trying to hide a climate change report. The paper claimed the document was leaked to them by people who were afraid it would be “suppressed,” but in reality, it had been online for months.

Along with a Trump tweet about the Russia investigation, the awards concluded by listing ten accomplishments that weren’t getting enough airtime.

Governor McAuliffe (D) Threatened to Physically Harm the President

This Democrat just threatened, in front of the national media, to punch President Trump. It is a crime to threaten the President, will this close ally of Hillary Clinton go to jail, or does the FBI continue to serve the Deep State?

Leaked email to IOC President Bach: ‘WADA has been used for politics from the beginning’

WADA Symposium

Hacker group Fancy Bears has published emails purportedly showing how an International Olympic Committee (IOC) honorary member accused the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) of an “anti-IOC and anti-Europe attitude.”

The material published by the hacking group allegedly shows an email sent by late IOC honorary member Hein Verbruggen in October 2016.

“The dramatic events of the last months in anti-doping have made us all think about WADA’s role and responsibilities. I think we have suddenly all realized that this organisation has in fact during 17 years been in the hands of four people: Mr Pound, Mr Howman, Mr Reedie and Mr Niggli,” Verbruggen, who died in June last year, allegedly wrote.

The names he is referring to are Dick Pound (the first WADA president), David Howman (former WADA director general), Craig Reedie (current WADA president), and Olivier Niggli (current WADA director general).

Verbruggen was a Dutch sports administrator and was president of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) from 1991 until 2005, and president of SportAccord from 2004 to 2013.

“I left out Mr Fahey who unexpectedly was put into the WADA chair without having any experience in anti-doping (which was perhaps convenient for those who wanted to retain the power but definitely not good for WADA). With all respect for President Reedie, I think nobody familiar with WADA will contest that Mr Pound still has a dominant position within that organization.”

Verbruggen also accuses the organization of biased politics against European countries and the Olympic movement.

“The current WADA has to a large extent failed to be a viable and universally trusted and respected anti-doping organization, because – as well as for genuine anti-doping – it has from the beginning (17 years ago) also been used for politics. We all know – but we usually do not dare to say – that there exists a sound anti-IOC and anti-Europe attitude at the level of the WADA leadership. This WADA leadership (appointed by the IOC, which is the cynical part of the story) usually teams up with a small group of (mainly) Anglo-Saxon NADO’s (USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom and Norway/Scandinavia on the sideline) and this has created a division that has allowed the same people to stay at the helm for a way too long period. This ‘coalition’ can also be seen from the composition of the WADA committees (including panels and expert groups) as published on WADA’s website.”

He then backs up his position by stressing that nine of 11 WADA committees are chaired by people from Anglo-Saxon countries, and that 66 out of the total 112 members come from Anglo-Saxon countries and Scandinavia. He notes that members from Canada and the US are abundant.

“WADA has also become a platform for IOC critics to assemble. Obviously all this has had its negative impact on the fight against doping with the current catastrophic situation of WADA as a Consequence,” he continues.

“We have to face up to the inconvenient fact that many within the Olympic Movement are afraid of criticism by WADA and Mr Pound in the sensitive and mediatic field of anti-doping. This fear explains in my view why Mr Pound and friends do not seem to worry about not being nominated anymore and why they have been able to maintain their WADA positions for 17 years, as if there were no other competent people and good governance would not recommend a change from time to time.”

He also uses the example of WADA’s public call, back in 2016 to the IOC, to impose “a last-minute ban” on the Russian team from the Summer Olympics in Brazil to illustrate his words.

“Whereas it was precisely WADA that largely contributed to this very problematic situation by not following up promptly and adequately the information it had received since 2010.”

Earlier this month, Fancy Bears released IOC correspondence appearing to indicate Canadian lawyer Richard McLaren was given a “clear political order” to file a report that resulted in Russia’s expulsion from Olympic competition.

2017: The Year the News Media Went to War Against a President

The first year of the Trump administration was as turbulent for the news media as it was for politics, with many journalists dropping any pretense of professionalism to become strident opponents of the President. As a proxy for the larger establishment media, the Media Research Center analyzed every moment of coverage of President Trump last year on the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts, usually seen by more than 25 million people each night. The major findings:

■ The Trump presidency was the biggest story of the year, accounting for one out of every three minutes of evening news airtime — nearly 100 hours in total.
■ The tone of coverage has been incessantly hostile, especially for a new President in his honeymoon year: 90% negative, vs. just 10% positive (These percentages do not include neutral statements).
■ More than two-fifths of evening news coverage of the President (43%) focused on controversies, not policies, with the Russia investigation alone accounting for one-fifth of all Trump coverage (1,234 minutes).
■ Despite their massive coverage of Russia, the networks had almost no airtime for questions about how the investigation began, or whether special counsel Robert Mueller’s current investigation is biased.

Now the details of our year-long study:

■ The Trump Presidency Was by Far the Biggest Story of 2017: From Inauguration Day (January 20) through the end of 2017 (December 31), the three evening newscasts aired 3,430 stories that talked about either President Trump or his administration, totaling 99 hours, 3 minutes of airtime. This amounts to approximately 34 percent of all evening news airtime (excluding commercials), meaning that one out of every three minutes of broadcast evening news coverage was devoted to the Trump story last year.

In contrast, MRC analysis of these same newscasts in 2015 and 2016 found that airtime devoted to President Obama and his administration amounted to approximately ten percent of overall evening news coverage in those years, or less than one-third the level of Trump’s coverage.

■ Coverage of Trump Has Been Incessantly Negative: Reviewing all of this coverage, our analysts catalogued 5,883 evaluative statements about the President or his administration from either reporters, anchors or non-partisan sources such as experts or voters. Only about 10 percent of those comments (617) were positive, compared with 5,266 (90%) which were negative — an unparalleled level of media hostility for a President in his first year in office.

There were only three months in 2017 when Trump’s level of good press rose above 10 percent on the evening news: January, when TV coverage of his inauguration included a few stories about the positive reaction among Trump voters; April, when the network coverage mentioned supportive reaction to the cruise missile strikes against Syria; and in December, when Congress finally passed a major tax reform package, a Trump legislative success. Even in those months, however, the balance of TV’s coverage of Trump was still hugely negative — 85 percent negative in January, 82 percent in April, and 85 percent in December.

The media’s negative approach has been essentially consistent regardless of which issues or controversies were prevalent in the news. For example, network TV coverage was no more hostile in August (91% negative), when Trump came under intense criticism for his reaction to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, related to a white supremacist march, than it was in most other months.

Rather, the evening newscasts have provided extremely heavy coverage of some stories (Russia, the travel ban, and myriad personal controversies) where they evidently believed heavy criticism is justified, while they barely mention other topics where the administration has a positive story to tell. (Tomorrow, we will report on six of Trump’s accomplishments that were essentially ignored by the networks.)

■ A Huge Percentage of Network News Coverage Focused on Controversies, Not Policy: More than two-fifths of evening news coverage of the Trump administration (43%, or 42 hours, 37 minutes) centered on various controversies associated with the President and his top aides. The Russia investigation was the networks’ favorite topic, with an astonishing 20 hours, 34 minutes of coverage, or more than one-fifth of all Trump coverage last year.

Discussion of all public policy issues combined amounted to 46 hours, 58 minutes of coverage, or roughly 47 percent of all Trump coverage. The five most-frequently covered policy issues: the effort to repeal and replace ObamaCare (475 minutes); the nuclear showdown with North Korea (364 minutes); immigration policy, including ramped-up deportations and a potential border wall (258 minutes); the temporary travel ban and the ensuing court fight (251 minutes); and the ultimately successful push for comprehensive tax reform (222 minutes).

Besides Russia, the networks spent more than 100 minutes on two other controversies: the President’s reaction to the white supremacist violence in Charlottesville, and the furor over his allegation in a tweet that President Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower. No other controversy achieved that much airtime; our analysts found that the networks typically obsessed about one controversy at a time, and then dropped it when a new one became available.

And, for those who might wonder, the remaining airtime not spent discussing controversies or policy issues (about 9 hours, 17 minutes) consisted of other administration news (various nominations and appointments, presidential travel, ceremonial functions, etc.).

■ Lots of “Collusion” Coverage, Little Scrutiny of Mueller: Throughout 2017 — even before the appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel — the networks were obsessed with the investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia’s efforts to affect the 2016 presidential election. As noted above, one-fifth of all Trump coverage on the evening newscasts last year was about the Russia probe, making it more prominent than the effort to repeal ObamaCare, tax reform, immigration, or any of the other Trump controversies that TV found so worthy of coverage.

Yet very little of the airtime devoted to the Russia investigation was spent looking into how the inquiry into Team Trump first began, or whether Mueller’s current investigation is biased. Suggestions that Obama administration officials had improperly “unmasked” Trump officials caught up in foreign surveillance garnered just 20 minutes of evening news coverage, or less than two percent of the Russia total. Evening news coverage of the uncorroborated anti-Trump dossier, which we eventually learned was financed by the Clinton campaign’s lawyer, amounted to a mere 15 minutes of airtime.

While the media subjected Clinton-era independent counsel Ken Starr to harsh scrutiny, any doubts raised about Mueller and his team have been given little airtime. The three evening newscasts spent a combined 11 minutes (less than 1% of their Russia coverage) on the biased anti-Trump text messages exchanged between an FBI agent and an FBI lawyer, both of whom had worked on the investigation. Criticism that the Mueller team had improperly obtained e-mails written by Trump officials during the transition period was given barely five minutes of airtime, (or less than 0.5% of the total Russia coverage).

The media reaction to Trump’s first year has been so extreme, the public itself has become polarized over the coverage. In September, Gallup discovered that record numbers of Democrats are reporting “trust and confidence in the mass media to report the news ‘fully, accurately and fairly,’” with 72 percent of Democrats saying they trusted the press in 2017, compared to just 51 percent who said that a year ago.

A month later, a Politico/Morning Consult poll found that “more than three-quarters of Republican voters, 76 percent, think the news media invent stories about Trump and his administration.” That number swells to 85 percent when just Trump supporters are asked the question.

What seems to be happening is that many in the media, including the broadcast networks, have chosen to morph into anti-Trump activists. As a result, they provide massive attention to stories that they think make him look bad, give little airtime to more positive aspects of his administration, and punish him with massively negative spin.

The polls suggest anti-Trump Democrats love that kind of news, pro-Trump Republicans hate it — while the national media are cementing their reputation as biased partisans. Their hostility against the White House is now so obvious, nobody could possibly take them seriously if they ever again claim to be fair and non-partisan professionals.

‘American Heroes’ Invoke 25th Amendment, Remove ‘Unfit’ President in Liberal Fantasy Show

Russell: I’ve talked to White House Counsel and the attorney general, and though there is a “fog of law” surrounding Section 4 of the 25th Amendment, because it’s never been invoked, they assured me that if the heads of the executive departments plus the vice president vote by simple majority, the president will be removed from office, and Vice President Hurst will become the acting president. Acting secretaries can’t vote, so that eliminates Bob here. Leaving 15 of you, including the VP. If ever there were a time to set aside politics and do what’s best for the country, this is it.

Bob: Russell has asked me to provide some context for this. Um, in two hours, President Dalton will enter the Situation Room, and I will execute his order. Nine minutes later, all five Russian Oko satellites will be destroyed. And we will be on a war footing. Unless you alter history here tonight.

Russell: On that cheerful note, we’ll leave you to it.

Hurst: There is no playbook for this. And clearly, time is of the essence. So do you want to talk or just vote?

Nolan: Well, as attorney general, I would just like to say that, although I concur with Russell’s explanation of the law, I just don’t think we’ve hit the Section 4 threshold yet.

Hurst: Really? A reckless strike against our greatest nuclear adversary doesn’t do it for you, Hank?

Nolan: With all due respect, Madam Vice President, but perhaps it’s indiscreet for you to weigh in given you’re the one with an enormous vested interest in the outcome.

Hurst: My interest is only what is best for the country. But fair enough.

Mary: Speaking of fairness, I mean, who are we to question the president’s judgment? Some banana republic? I mean, hell, maybe it is just the right time to hit the Russians. I support the strike and our duly elected president.

Elizabeth: But even if the Russians are cowed, the president is still a wild card. And we will end up going from crisis to crisis, and eventually there’ll be disaster.

Extremely Inconvenient Photos For Oprah If She Decides To Run For President

The media world is going gaga over the thought of a potential 2020 presidential bid from Oprah Winfrey.

After Winfrey delivered a stirring speech Sunday evening at the Golden Globes, Monday’s headlines were all about the talk show icon. The speculation is a welcome distraction for Hollywood’s elite, who have faced an ongoing industry crisis after the fallout from a wave of sexual assault bombshells.

However, if Oprah runs she will likely face her own questions over enabling and palling around with some of Hollywood’s now infamous sexual predators. In particular, Oprah has maintained a close professional relationship with Harvey Weinstein over the past two decades. Weinstein saw his career go down in flames after dozens of women came forward to accuse him of sexual harassment and assault, and Winfrey’s chummy relationship with Weinstein has been pointed out by a number of Twitter users who have posted photos of Oprah kissing and hugging the notorious sexual predator:

One of Weinstein’s accusers, Kadian Noble, says the disgraced mogul used Oprah to lure her in before sexually assaulting her. According to Page Six:

An aspiring actress says Harvey Weinstein used Oprah Winfrey and Naomi Campbell to dupe her into thinking he would help her with her career — only to use her for sex.

British actress Kadian Noble said Tuesday she was head-over-heels impressed when she first met Weinstein at an event in London because he was hanging out with model Campbell and had megastar Oprah “swinging off his arm.”

“I thought, obviously, this man has something amazing in store for me,” she said during a teary-eyed press conference in Manhattan to discuss the sex trafficking lawsuit she filed a day earlier against Weinstein in Manhattan federal court.

Oprah was also Weinstein’s guest at a number of events and awards ceremonies:

Oprah attended Weinstein Company sponsored events:

Oprah also starred in Weinstein-helmed flicks. Most recently she appeared in “The Butler,” a movie about a long time White House staff member.

Oprah also won awards alongside Weinstein for their work in education and arts.

After Weinstein was exposed as a sexual predator, the mogul said Oprah called him to offer her support. TMZ reports that Oprah called Weinstein to offer advice and support after the allegations hit:

Harvey has repeatedly told his team and friends that Oprah called him earlier this week and said he needed to speak out and defend himself, and when he did she would be right there supporting him. We’re told Harvey has said a number of powerful people have called to voice support, but he singled out Oprah over and over.

A spokesperson for Winfrey denied this account, telling TMZ that Oprah did not contact Weinstein but would be open to doing an interview with him.

“Oprah has not spoken to Harvey Weinstein directly,” the spokesman claimed. “Someone from his team reached out to her to see if she would talk to him, and she said she would if it was for an interview. There are no plans for an interview at this time.”

In Oprah’s speech at Sunday’s Golden Globes, she did not mention Weinstein by name.
