It Is Official: Canada Legalizes Weed

By Amanda Froelich,
History has been made in Canada, where the country’s Senate passed a bill (52-29) to legalize cannabis for recreational use. As the BBC reports, the bill controls and regulates how the herb can be cultivated, distributed, and sold. As early as September, Canadians will be able to buy and consume cannabis legally.

In December of 2013, Paraguay became the first country to legalize pot for recreational use. Shortly after, a number of US states voted to allow the herb. Now, Canada is jumping on the bandwagon. In 1923, the North American nation outlawed cannabis consumption. But in 2001, it was legalized for medicinal purposes.

Within the week, the bill is likely to receive Royal Assent. Then, the government will choose an official date when the law will go into effect. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau acknowledged the development in a “Tweet”. He wrote: “it’s been too easy for our kids to get marijuana – and for criminals to reap the profits”.

Provinces and territories are expected to receive eight to 12 weeks to set up the new marijuana marketplace. By mid-September, pot will be available for sale at licensed dispensaries and at various retail locations. Reportedly, Canadians will also be able to order weed online from federally licensed producers.

Residents will be allowed to grow up to four pot plans at home. While in public, adults will be able to possess up to 30 grams (one ounce) of dried herb in public. Not right away, but within one year of the bill going into effect, edibles — cannabis-infused foods — will be available.

Unlike the US, where residents and tourists must prove they are at least 21 years of age, Canadian citizens will be able to purchase weed at 18. In some provinces, that limit will increase to 19.

The Canadian government has left it up to the provinces to decide how marijuana is sold and other limits within their jurisdiction (such as where it can be smoked). Strict guidelines for plain packaging with minimal branding and strict health warnings has been mandated by the federal government. Companies or brands that target young people, promote through sponsorship, characters, or animals in advertising will be reprimanded.

Demand for herb is high in Canada. In 2015, Canadians spent about C$6 billion on bud. That’s almost as much as they spent on wine! Hopefully, with this development, it is only a matter of time before other countries, including the United States, decriminalize cannabis entirely.

Calls to ‘kill the Boer’ make all farmers targets, not just whites – South African official

“That is not the stance of our government… by the way if it is ‘kill the Boer, kill the farmer,’ it’s killing me, because I am the Boer,” said Mlengana, as quoted by News24 TV channel. “Boer means farmer… When they say kill the Boers, they are not just talking about whites, they are talking about farmers,” Mlengana said.

‘Boer’ is the Dutch and Afrikaans noun for ‘farmer’ and also denotes the descendants of the then-Dutch-speaking settlers in southern Africa during the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, descendants of the Boers are also referred to as ‘Afrikaners’ – a South African ethnic group descended from predominantly Dutch settlers.

The question about the chants to “kill the Boers” was raised by minority rights group AfriForum. According to AfriForum deputy CEO Ernst Roets, South Africa’s governing party, African National Congress (ANC), and radical Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party chanted the slogan recently at their gatherings. There were 74 farm murders and 638 attacks primarily against white farmers in 2016-17, AfriForum said.

One of the ways of stopping the violence is giving land back to the South African people, Mlengana said. White farmers, despite being a minority in South Africa, own 72 percent of the country’s farms.

Member of Parliament and leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (a far-left black nationalist political party) Julius Malema said, “white people in South Africa were most safe” and “untouchable.” Malema told South African broadcaster eNCA that white people should come to the table and be “willing to share” or face “anarchy.” His party has often been accused of being racially nationalist in nature and calling for black supremacy.

Obama official: 'We should have done more' on Russian interference in 2016 election

Ben Rhodes, one of President Obama’s top national security advisers, acknowledged “we should have done more” to call attention to Russia’s information war during the 2016 election, noting that a much-heralded October statement from the U.S. intelligence community failed to even address a major part of the Russian attack.

“If you look at the October statement from the intelligence community, it doesn’t say anything about fake news,” Rhodes said in an interview with the Yahoo News podcast Skullduggery. “All it talks about is that the Russians hacked and release some of the material, which I think was only a small piece of their information war. … My own view is we could have done more and said more certainly about the information war and fake news dissemination.”

At the same time, Rhodes sharply criticized Facebook for not taking more aggressive steps to block Russian trolls from manipulating its platform and sharing information with the U.S. government.

“And frankly, I don’t think Facebook has had anywhere near the interaction with the government and frankly the scrutiny that is necessary to say, Look, it’s not enough to just mouth words about this,” Rhodes said. “Having your platform essentially hijacked for the purposes of a foreign adversary living in information boards is something we need to deal with just as aggressively as we dealt with ISIS using social media. And I don’t see that happening yet either.”

Rhodes’ comments — a rare on-the-record admission of a lapse by a senior Obama official — came during a discussion of his new book, “The World As It Is: A Memoir of the Obama White House.” The book recounts Rhodes’s role as a speechwriter and senior adviser throughout the Obama presidency, complete with fly-on-the-wall accounts of deliberations over the killing of Osama bin Laden, the Iran nuclear deal, the Benghazi attack that killed U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens and other episodes.

But in its chapter on the Obama response to the Russian attack on the election, Rhodes makes clear he bristled when he was told he was excluded from National Security Council deliberations in the summer of 2016 — purportedly because he was the White House’s designated liaison to the Clinton campaign. When he was told by his boss, Susan Rice, that he couldn’t participate in the debate over Russia, “I walked downstairs to my office and sank into my chair,” Rhodes writes in his book. “For eight years, I’d worked my way up to the place where I thought I’d always be in the room and now I was being kept out of the most important conversation of all. My mind raced with a mix of self-pity and self-blame.”

But Rhodes suggested that his exclusion might have made a difference because he — as well as former State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki — had sought to combat how the Russians had manipulated social media during the country’s military intervention in Ukraine, flooding the world with bogus accounts of the 2014 shoot-down of Malaysian airlines Flight 17 and other developments during the crisis in that country.

Obama officials as well as the U.S. intelligence community failed to understand how the Russians were taking their playbook from the Ukraine crisis and now deploying it against the United States, Rhodes said.

“You learn in government who’s in the room kind of dictates what’s on the agenda, and not only was I not in the room,” Rhodes said during his Skullduggery interview, “nobody who focused on communications was in the room.” Instead, “our government kind of put [the Russian attack] in a box of cybersecurity. You know, they hacked something, they released it, we have to protect the election infrastructure.”

“So, I think it’s maybe not just me, but if somebody with that communication perspective had been in the room, there might’ve been more attention on this other set of capabilities that we had been living with from Ukraine for years, that they were deploying in the United States,” Rhodes said. “Because, essentially, they took their war machine that they built in Ukraine and just brought it to America in 2016.”

Whether calling more attention to the issue during the election would have made a difference is another question. When he later raised the issue with Obama directly, and told him, “We’re going to be criticized for not focusing on this,” Rhodes said the president downplayed the issue. “His belief was that, essentially, the Russians had found soft spots in our media and society such that, if we were calling that out, the people who consume that fake news aren’t going to listen to Obama anyway, Trump’s going to say it [the election] is rigged.”

72 Types of Americans That Are Considered Terrorists In Official Government Documents

Are you a conservative, a libertarian, a Christian or a gun owner?  Are you opposed to abortion, globalism, Communism, illegal immigration, the United Nations or the New World Order?  Do you believe in conspiracy theories, do you believe that we are living in the “end times” or do you ever visit alternative news websites (such as this one)?  If you answered yes to any of those questions, you are a “potential terrorist” according to official U.S. government documents.  At one time, the term “terrorist” was used very narrowly.  The government applied that label to people like Osama bin Laden and other Islamic jihadists.  But now the Obama administration is removing all references to Islam from terror training materials, and instead the term “terrorist” is being applied to large groups of American citizens.  And if you are a “terrorist”, that means that you have no rights and the government can treat you just like it treats the terrorists that are being held at Guantanamo Bay.  So if you belong to a group of people that is now being referred to as “potential terrorists”, please don’t take it as a joke.  The first step to persecuting any group of people is to demonize them.  And right now large groups of peaceful, law-abiding citizens are being ruthlessly demonized.

Below is a list of 72 types of Americans that are considered to be “extremists” and “potential terrorists” in official U.S. government documents.  To see the original source document for each point, just click on the link.  As you can see, this list covers most of the country…

71. Those that believe in “end times” prophecies

72. Evangelical Christians

The groups of people in the list above are considered “problems” that need to be dealt with.  In some of the documents referenced above, members of the military are specifically warned not to have anything to do with such groups.

We are moving into a very dangerous time in American history.  You can now be considered a “potential terrorist” just because of your religious or political beliefs.  Free speech is becoming a thing of the past, and we are rapidly becoming an Orwellian society that is the exact opposite of what our founding fathers intended.

Please pray for the United States of America.  We definitely need it.

50 Years After RFK Was Killed, Here are 5 Reasons Why His Own Son Doesn’t Believe the Official Story

On June 5, 1968, Senator Robert F. Kennedy had just won the California Democratic presidential primary when he was shot following a speech at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. As Americans remember the tragic night 50 years ago, Kennedy’s son is joining with one of the survivors of the shooting to call for a new investigation.

Below are five bombshell reasons explaining exactly why Robert Kennedy Jr. is justified in calling for this investigation into who killed his father.

1. Forensic scientists claim the audio of the shooting includes 13 shots from two guns, but the “lone gunman” blamed for the shooting only had one gun with eight bullets

Sirhan Sirhan was quickly convicted of shooting and killing Kennedy, and he was labeled as the “lone gunman” in the assassination. According to reports, he opened fire on Kennedy with a .22-caliber revolver from three feet away, while the presidential candidate was greeting staff members in the hotel’s kitchen.

Sirhan’s first bullet hit the head of Kennedy’s aide, Paul Schrade, who was standing six feet behind Kennedy. His second bullet missed completely, and he fired the last six bullets, wounding four other people before he was taken down by two hotel staff members who grabbed his gun. However, while it was only physically possible for Sirhan to have fired eight shots, audio expert Phil Van Praag determined that 13 shots had been fired from at least two guns.

2. The autopsy report shows the bullet that killed Kennedy entered his skull behind his right ear—but Sirhan was standing in front of him

The timing and layout of the shooting placed Sirhan in front of Kennedy the entire time, but the autopsy report showed that the fatal shot that took Kennedy’s life, entered his skill from behind his right ear. Yet investigators have failed to explain the multiple other bullet holes that were found in the kitchen, or how it was possible for Sirhan to have fired the shot that killed Kennedy.

After he survived the shooting, Schrade has devoted years to pushing for a new investigation and calling for justice for Sirhan—the man who allegedly shot him in the head. In a statement, Schrade said, “The LAPD and LA DA knew two hours after the fatal shooting of Robert Kennedy that he was shot by a second gunman and they had conclusive evidence that Sirhan Bishara Sirhan could not and did not do it. The official record shows that [the prosecution at Sirhan’s trial] never had one witness—and had no physical nor ballistic evidence—to prove Sirhan shot Robert Kennedy.”

3. Multiple witnesses have testified that there was a second gunman

In addition to Schrade’s claim that a second gunman was responsible for Kennedy’s death, actress Nina Rhodes-Hughes was a witness to the shooting, and she has testified that she believes there was more than one shooter. She was behind Kennedy when the shooting started, and while she remembers seeing Sirhan in front of her, she claims she heard multiple shots fired from her right-hand side.

Rhodes-Hughes told the Vancouver Sun that not a single police officer questioned her the night of the shooting, and it was more than a month before FBI agents arrived at her home for an interview. She said even though she told them that she heard 12 or 13 shots ring out, the agents’ notes claimed she said she heard eight rounds—the exact number of bullets in Sirhan’s gun—and she was never called to testify in court.

4. Sirhan has spent 50 years claiming he does not remember shooting Robert Kennedy

Sirhan has adamantly claimed that he does not remember the shooting or the events surrounding it. Harvard psychologist Dr. Daniel Brown spent 60 hours interviewing Sirhan over the course of three years leading up to his last parole hearing in 2011, and he determined that Sirhan had likely been subjected to coercive suggestive influence and hypnotic programming.

As The Free Thought Project has reported, the CIA’s MKUltra program was ongoing at the time and Dr. Brown’s colleague, former Georgetown Law Professor Alan Scheflin, “discovered at least three redacted documents describing ‘successful assassinations’ in other countries using the unconscious assassination method,” in which a combination of sensory deprivation, hallucinogenic drugs and hypnosis were used to train unconscious assassins.

5. Police have been accused of destroying evidence, threatening witnesses and intentionally ignoring the possibility of a second shooter.

Los Angeles Police and prosecutors have faced heavy scrutiny in the years since they were instrumental in Sirhan’s conviction. Prosecutors intentionally withheld the autopsy report from Sirhan’s defense lawyers for the first six weeks of the trial, and police “failed to investigate an armed private-security guard who was walking behind Kennedy at precisely the angle where the fatal shots to Kennedy’s head and back were fired,” according to a report from the Washington Post.

In addition to failing to prevent vital evidence at the trial, Los Angeles Police burned 2,140 police photographs related to the shooting, and incinerated thousands of documents and pieces of evidence from the case, including doorframes with bullet holes that proved more than eight shots were fired.

Kennedy was pronounced dead 26 hours after he was shot and while there have been many theories surrounding his death, the 50th anniversary marks the first time his son, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has openly called for a new investigation and after visiting the convicted killer in prison, he has said he does not believe that Sirhan Sirhan was responsible for his father’s death.

“I got to a place where I had to see Sirhan,” Kennedy said just after he visited and talked to the man sitting in jail for killing his dad. “I went there because I was curious and disturbed by what I had seen in the evidence,” said Kennedy, an environmental lawyer and the third oldest of his father’s 11 children. “I was disturbed that the wrong person might have been convicted of killing my father. My father was the chief law enforcement officer in this country. I think it would have disturbed him if somebody was put in jail for a crime they didn’t commit.”
