Hundreds In Israel And Beyond Protest Killings Of Palestinians On Gaza Border

Hundreds took to the streets in Tel Aviv, Israel, and other cities worldwide this week to protest the Israeli military killing dozens of Palestinians demonstrating on the Gaza border.

On Tuesday, hundreds of people in Tel Aviv marched and blocked traffic after Israeli forces fired on largely unarmed Palestinian protesters in Gaza on Monday, killing around 60 people and injuring hundreds more.

Dozens more people have protested around the world early this week, including in the United States, the United Kingdom, BelgiumCanada and South Africa.

“People, you could see, were deeply angry with the current situation,” Alon-Lee Green, national director of the Israeli activist group Standing Together, which organized the protests in Tel Aviv, told HuffPost late on Tuesday. More than 600 protesters blocked roads in the city center for over two hours, he said.

“Yesterday in Israel all day, the TV news just showed a split screen: Half of it was from the shootings in Gaza, and the number of casualties was increasing by the minute. And then in the other half was [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and Ivanka Trump, literally drinking champagne in the U.S. Embassy opening,” Green added. “It was surreal and frustrating.”

On Monday, first daughter and presidential adviser Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner commemorated the official relocation of the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem ― a controversial decision her father, U.S. President Donald Trump, made in December.

As thousands of Palestinians protested on the Gaza border 40 miles away, Israeli forces opened fire, killing dozens of protesters, including many young people. As the protests continued on Tuesday, the Israeli military killed at least two more Palestinians.

The Gaza protests were part of “The Great March of Return” ― weeks of demonstrations running from late March until the annual Nakba Day on May 15, which commemorates the displacement of Palestinians when the state of Israel was created in 1948.

Since the protests began, Israeli forces have killed more than 100 Palestinians, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry, sparking international outrage, particularly over the deaths of unarmed protesters and journalists.

International leaders condemned the deadly violence in Gaza this week, with more than a dozen members of the U.N. Security Council denouncing Israel’s “excessive use of force against unarmed civilians” on Tuesday.

The Israeli military said Monday in a statement that some protesters “hurled firebombs and explosive devices at the security fence and Israeli troops.” Israel has also said that it was defending its border against the militant group Hamas, which controls Gaza and which the U.S. considers a terrorist group, saying Hamas has attempted attacks during the protests.

On Monday, the White House also blamed Hamas, with spokesman Raj Shah saying “the responsibility for these tragic deaths rests squarely with Hamas.”

A handful of U.S. lawmakers nonetheless condemned the violence, including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) who noted the “staggering toll” of the dead.

“Hamas violence does not justify Israel firing on unarmed protesters,” Sanders said.

Some of the protests this week in cities like Washington, D.C. and Cape Town, South Africa, had initially been planned over the controversial relocation of the U.S. Embassy or to mark the 70th anniversary of Nakba on Tuesday. But in the wake of Monday’s deadly violence, they morphed into demonstrations against Israel’s excessive use of force.

At a protest on Monday in the U.S. capital that was organized by the Jewish left-wing activist group If Not Now, about 150 people blocked the street near the Trump International Hotel. The group had organized the action weeks ago to respond to the embassy move, but the protest took on a different tone as demonstrators learned of the mounting death toll in Gaza, which was “really horrific,” an organizer said.

“As American Jews, we see Netanyahu saying he speaks for all Jews, and we’re saying that’s not true,” volunteer organizer Sarah Brammer-Shlay told HuffPost on Tuesday, saying actions in Israel were “pushed by our government.”

“This can’t be a community that supports violence and occupation,” she said.

USDA caught murdering hundreds of kittens in “incineration ovens” as part of cruel medical experiments

(Natural News) Just in case you weren’t already horrified by the actions of federal agencies, the USDA has been caught experimenting with and executing hundreds of kittens as part of some sort of twisted study. Congressman Mike Bishop of Michigan is now calling for an investigation, revealing that he has already sent a letter to Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue about the horrific revelation from earlier this week.

As Bishop reported in his letter, it appears that the USDA has been experimenting on kittens by feeding them parasite-riddled raw meat for two or three weeks so their feces can be collected. Then they are killed via incineration. And at the end of the “study,” Bishops says, the USDA admitted that the baby animals were healthy — and yet, the government agency still saw fit to put them to death. The congressman’s letter questions why these animals were killed instead of being put up for adoption.

In a written statement, Bishop contended further:

“I’m shocked and disturbed that for decades the USDA — the very organization charged with enforcing animal welfare laws — has been unnecessarily killing hundreds of kittens in expensive and inefficient lab experiments. Any government research program like this one that’s been funded since the Nixon administration needs to be put under the microscope, especially when it involves using kittens as disposable test tubes in harmful tests that most taxpayers oppose.”

Bishop says that this research has been going on since 1982 — and that up to 100 kittens are killed every year. The USDA has said this number is a “serious overestimation,” but as Detroit News reports, that number was taken from an internal document dated May 2015, which described the laboratory’s official protocol for animal use in the experiment. The document reportedly estimated that 300 cats would be used during a three-year period.

Apparently the kittens are being killed off “in part” so the USDA can assist with developing a vaccine for toxoplasmosis, a disease caused by the parasite, Toxoplasma gondii. Bishop says that while cats are the only animals capable of being used to produce Toxoplasma eggs for experimentation, scientists elsewhere have been developing alternatives to animal cruelty.

USDA steeped in controversy

This is not the first time that the USDA — an agency charged with animal welfare — has come under fire for many reasons — including their refusal to enforce organic livestock standards, among other despicable behaviors regarding their treatment of living creatures. Recently, the USDA’s Wildlife Services have been repeatedly called out for their reckless and indiscriminate tactics for murdering wildlife.

In 2016, it was estimated that the USDA killed 2.7 million wild animals. In 2015, that number was estimated to be even higher, at 3.2 million lives taken. But as wildlife advocates note, it’s virtually impossible to verify numbers reported by the government.

A number of ecologists have led research that casts serious doubts on the necessity of these killing sprees, but that has meant little to the federal agency, which appears hellbent on continuing their reprehensible massacres. Firearms, poison, snares, and leg-hold traps are some of their top choices for “controlling” wildlife populations.

As The Dodo contends, it is clear that special interest groups (like ranchers with livestock) have taken priority over the agency’s charge to improve our “coexistence” with the wild.

Many of their “methods” for “controlling wildlife damage” are indiscriminate — which means that non-targeted animals can, and will, be harmed by their tactics. The government reports that 2,790 animals were unintentionally killed in 2016 — though many question if any of the 2.7 million creatures destroyed needed to die at the hands of a federal agency.

On one occasion, a rare gray wolf was killed by a cyanide-spraying trap intended for killing coyotes. It’s worth noting that the gray wolf is considered a natural predator for coyotes(along with bears and mountain lions). Perhaps if we let nature be, instead of killing off all the natural predators and destroying their environment, coyotes would not have become such a problem.

Studies have shown that killing off predators does nothing to actually protect the livestock. So, when is the USDA going to stop killing animals of all kinds with reckless abandon?

‘Netanyahu resign!’ Hundreds of Israelis protest against US embassy move, Jerusalem Day parade

Protester

Hundreds of people hit the streets of Jerusalem late Saturday to protest against the relocation of the US embassy to the city and a Jerusalem Day parade, saying that both only serve to escalate tensions with Palestine.

The demonstration, organized by co-existence group Standing Together and settlement watchdog Peace Now, saw at least 100 protesters march from King George Street to the Old City’s Jaffa Gate.

Video footage posted by Ruptly agency showed protesters carrying placards with slogans including “Don’t set Jerusalem on fire.” They shouted slogans such as “We oppose an escalation [of the security situation]” and “Netanyahu – resign! Peace is worth more [than the embassy move],” the Jerusalem Post reported.

See video here.

“I came today because I firmly believe Jerusalem belongs to everybody… everybody shares Jerusalem. And there’s just too much bad stuff being done in the name of Jews,” one protester told Ruptly.

The march came just two days before the US embassy is scheduled to make its move from Tel Aviv, a result of Donald Trump officially recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in December. That decision led to widespread protests across the Middle East and condemnation from UN member states, the EU, and Pope Francis. The move was hailed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “historic landmark.”

Meanwhile, the Israeli demonstrators also hit out at the Flag March, which is due to take place as part of Jerusalem Day on Sunday. The march has long been the subject of criticism from many on the left, as it involves participants wearing the colors of the Israeli flag and marching through the Old City’s Muslim Quarter. It has sparked violence between Israeli revelers and Palestinian residents in the past.

The embassy move and Jerusalem Day come at a tense time, as Palestinians have been protesting as part of the Great Return March at the Gaza border since March. Those protests are set to culminate on ‘Nabka’ on Tuesday, which Palestinians regard as a day of mass exodus from their land due to the establishment of Israel.

Congressman Exposes ‘Secretive’ USDA Experiments that are Incinerating Hundreds of Kittens

kittenskittens

Prince George’s County, MD — Rep. Mike Bishop, a Republican representing Michigan’s 8th District, is exposing a program that he calls “secretive and problematic” within the U.S. Department of Agriculture in which hundreds of kittens are being incinerated in Maryland.

According to the USDA, the breeding and subsequent mass killing of kittens is essential to understanding and combating a dangerous parasite. However, citing inhumane procedures and wasted taxpayer funds, Bishop has called for an official investigation into the program.

On Tuesday, Bishop sent a letter to Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue citing his and other’s concerns on how the kitten are being used in the program.

As WTOP reports, according to the letter, Bishop says that his office reviewed documents about a research project on toxoplasmosis conducted at the USDA’s Animal Parasitic Diseases Laboratory in Beltsville, Maryland.

The secret experiments were brought to light after a Freedom of Information Act request was filed by the anti-animal research group White Coat Waste Project.

According to Bishop, the experiments involve breeding hundreds of kittens, feeding them parasite infected raw meet for several weeks and then burning them. The kittens are essentially test tubes as they are only bred so that their feces can be used in later experiments.

“I’m shocked and disturbed that for decades the USDA — the very organization charged with enforcing animal welfare laws — has been unnecessarily killing hundreds of kittens in expensive and inefficient lab experiments,” Bishop said in a statement.

“Any government research program like this one that’s been funded since the Nixon administration needs to be put under the microscope, especially when it involves using kittens as disposable test tubes in harmful tests that most taxpayers oppose.”

According to Bishop, the USDA protocol indicates that the cats who are fed the infected meat do not become sick. Bishop’s letter demands to know the cost to the taxpayer, the precise number of kittens used, pain reporting to see how bad the kittens are suffering, and alternatives to using kittens and possible adoption procedures.

“It appears that this project uses kittens as test tubes,” Bishop wrote. “Put simply, it creates life to destroy life. While I support the objective of making food safer and protecting people and animals from infectious diseases, we must ensure taxpayer dollars are used effectively, efficiently, and humanely.”

After receiving the letter on Tuesday, Kim Kaplan of the USDA responded by claiming that the use of cats is “essential to the success of this critical research,” and that “the estimate of 100 cats used in the research … is a serious overestimation.”

Kaplan also explained that the cats cannot be adopted out because even though they may not be infected they still pose a risk to others through their fecal matter.

However, expert authorities–including the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention–agree that the Toxoplasma-exposed cats are safe and adoptable because after just one Toxoplasma exposure, cats shed the parasite, become immune and won’t transmit to humans or other animals, according to the White Coat Waste Project.

As to why they use kittens, the USDA explained, “only cats are found to excrete the environmentally resistant stage of the parasite.”

In regard to the incineration of kittens, cost to taxpayers, and pain reporting, however, the USDA chose to remain silent, only stating that the lab “complies with best management practices in animal research.”

Naturally, no one wants to ingest harmful parasites and get sick and the research likely provides some benefit in this regard. However, the length of time that it has been going on indicates that the research is either ineffective or the program is merely trying to justify its funding by continuing experiments.

According to Bishop, the research has been ongoing at the USDA since 1982, and at 100 kittens a year, the death toll is staggering.

As the WCWP points out, these deadly, decades-old taxpayer-funded kitten experiments also continue despite criticism from veterinary experts who call the kitten model “difficult and expensive,” say it raises “ethical concerns,” and are advocating for development on in vitro models.

If this was a private corporation doing this exact same thing, the USDA would likely be stepping in to stop it. However, because they are the government, they can do as they wish.

4 Years Ago, Hundreds Of Protesters Proved That Armed Americans Can Take On The US Gov’t—And Win

Rachel Blevins–While there are a number of arguments that are used by gun control advocates, one of the most common is that individuals do not need high-powered firearms because they will not stand a chance in a war against the federal government. However, four years ago, a group of armed men and women did come together to form a militia, as referenced in the Second Amendment, and they successfully stood up to the government agencies that were infringing upon their rights.

On April 5, 2014, an ongoing land dispute between cattle rancher Cliven Bundy and the United States Bureau of Land Management hit its peak when the agency and federal law enforcement began seizing cattle owned by Bundy that they claimed were trespassing on “federally-owned” land.

The dispute first began in 1993 when Bundy refused to pay for a cattle grazing permit to use the land near his ranch in Clark County, Nevada, after the BLM claimed that he must reduce the side of his herd to 150 and that the size of land where his cattle were allowed to graze would be severely restricted. Bundy argued that the federal government does not have the authority to own large amounts of land, which launched a legal battle that continued for the next two decades.

As the Tenth Amendment Center reported, the federal government claims to own 81 percent of the land in the state of Nevada and “On the land they manage, the feds are threatening to evict tenants who refuse to pay outrageous fees.” As a result, Bundy was “the last of a dying breed, the only holdout who hasn’t been driven off land in Clark County in recent years, land his family has utilized and improved for nearly a century.”

In addition to seizing cattle, the government also began conducting heavy surveillance around the Bundy Ranch. On April 8, Cliven Bundy and his wife, Carol, told the Washington Free Beacon that more than 200 agents from the BLM and FBI were stationed around the property, armed with “automatic weapons, sniper rifles, top communication, top surveillance equipment, lots of vehicles,” as helicopters circled overhead and agents blocked the nearby roads.

“The battle’s been going on for 20 years,” Cliven Bundy said. “What’s happened the last two weeks, the United States government, the bureaus are getting this army together and they’re going to get their job done and they’re going to prove two things. They’re going to prove they can do it, and they’re gonna prove that they have unlimited power and that they control the policing power over this public land. That’s what they’re trying to prove.”

The Bundys’ son, Dave, was arrested by federal agents for filming them near his father’s land and cited with misdemeanor counts of refusing to disperse and resisting arrest on April 6.

Lead investigator Larry Wooten revealed in December 2017 that officers involved in the arrest “bragged about roughing up Dave Bundy, grinding his face into the ground and Dave Bundy having little bits of gravel stuck in his face.” A memo from Wooten referenced a pattern of “far-reaching misconduct, recklessness and unrestrained antipathy toward the family.”

As the news spread and the public began to learn of the increasing presence of federal agents on the land, and the hundreds of cattle that were being held captive, men and women from across the United States converged on the Bundy Ranch to protest the BLM.

On April 12, hundreds of armed protestors participated in a standoff at the mouth of Gold Butte, the location where the cattle were seized. Dozens of militiamen also protested on a nearby highway overpass, causing traffic to stall for miles.

As BLM agents began to warn that they were armed with tear gas and were prepared to use it on the protesters, Las Vegas Metro Deputy Chief Tom Roberts announced that Cliven Bundy’s nearly 400 cattle would be returned within the next hour, in an effort to de-escalate the situation.

Following the standoff, Cliven Bundy continued to let his cattle graze on federal land without a permit. Although he and his sons were charged with a total of 15 counts of criminal conspiracy and other violations, all of their charges were finally dropped in December 2017.

U.S. District Court Judge Gloria Navarro ruled that the case against the Bundy family was an example of “flagrant prosecutorial misconduct” after federal prosecutors were caught withholding evidence from defense attorneys, which violated the Brady rule. Navarro dismissed all charges “with prejudice” so that the government cannot attempt to prosecute the case again and she concluded that a universal sense of justice was violated.”

There are a number of ways in which the standoff could have ended, but the fact that Bundy, his family, and their supporters stood up to the federal government and lived to the tell the story has stood an incredible moment in history for every American who has ever questioned by the federal government’s overreaching abuse of power.

Hundreds of families in South Dakota preparing for the end of the world in Manhattan-sized underground facility

Image: Hundreds of families in South Dakota preparing for the end of the world in Manhattan-sized underground facility

(Natural News)
For just $25,000, you, too, can lay claim to your own piece of what a growing community of survivalists in rural South Dakota plans to depend on as “life assurance” in the event of an “end of the world” apocalypse scenario.

Hundreds of families, reports indicate, are already prepping for the worst by purchasing their own stakes in a vast underground military bunker-turned-survival shelter known as Vivos xPoint, located in Edgemont, South Dakota, near Wyoming’s eastern border.

Though the former military space is currently outfitted with only 575 bunkers, which its owners are referring to as “phase one,” it will eventually be expanded to accommodate upwards of 10,000 people by the time it’s fully completed.

And we’re not talking basic accommodations here. A $25,000 bunker within the cavernous space is described as luxurious, with pictures showing hardwood-like flooring, modern Edison bulb lighting, stainless steel appliances, and an array of fine furnishings.

The complex itself also has an impressive list of amenities, including a store, restaurant, bar, theater, hot tub spa, gym, medical clinic, and chapel, as well as barbecue areas, gardens, classrooms, shooting ranges, and even horse stables.

The compound will also feature 24-7 onsite security with military trained guards, a number of “members only” access gates, security cameras, and high-security military fencing all around the property, which once was home the United States Army’s Fort Igloo.

“Our buyers are aware – not paranoid – they’re highly intelligent, well educated, they read a lot,” says Robert K. Vicino, founder and CEO of Vivos, the company that owns the revolutionary bunker compound.

“The whole world is concerned. Everybody is having gut level feelings and they’re all feeling something is about to happen.”

Underground bunker homes are larger than many people’s regular homes

The whole thing is quite impressive, considering it’s roughly the size of Manhattan – though without all of the tall buildings, and all completely underground.

From the surface, Vivos looks like little more than a giant field dotted with tiny igloo-like concrete domes that serve as entry points into various areas of the compound. And it’s exactly how those who’ve already invested in the property want it to be, in preparation for what they see as impending global doom.

“Some are concerned about North Korea, others are concerned about an economic collapse, others are concerned about World War III,” adds Vicino about why folks are flocking to his survivalist compound.

“There’s threats from the sun, a mass ejection, threats of asteroids hitting the earth… There’s near misses every week now.”

And just in case you’re thinking it’s just a bunch of tiny homes underground – a nightmarish situation for claustrophobics – think again. Each bunker is roughly 2,200 square feet in space, which is larger than many above-ground homes in the United States.

To Vicino, it’s simply a no-brainer to invest in one of these, especially considering their relatively meager price tag.

“To not have this or a back up plan for mankind, an insurance policy is crazy,” he says, noting that it’s probably the best investment a person can make for the long-term survival of his family.

“The cost that we’re able to do this is nothing,” he admits, which is a much different scenario than the “only for the wealthy” underground bunkers that are reportedly sprouting up across Kansas and elsewhere.

“It’s crazy not to [buy one] – it’s nothing more than life assurance… This place is huge, the bunker we’re in is bigger than most houses… It’s going to be the largest survival community on the planet.”

Should everything unravel economically, you and your family will need to be fully prepared. Learn more by visiting Survival.news.

Israeli Forces Kill Seven Palestinian Protesters on Gaza Border; Hundreds Injured

March 30th, 2018

Via: Reuters:

At least seven Palestinians were killed and hundreds injured by Israeli security forces confronting one of the largest Palestinian demonstrations along the Israel-Gaza border in recent years, Gaza medical officials said.

One of the dead was aged 16 and most of the casualties were struck by gunfire, according to Palestinian medics who estimated the number of wounded at around 500 by mid-afternoon.

The Israeli military said that its troops had used “riot dispersal means and firing towards main instigators and that some of the demonstrators were “rolling burning tires and hurling stones at the border fence and at soldiers.

Palestinian health officials said Israeli forces used mostly gunfire against the protesters, in addition to tear gas and rubber bullets. Witnesses said the military had used a drone in at least one location to drop tear gas.

Several dead, hundreds injured in IDF-Palestinian clashes at #GreatReturn protest

Home » Breaking News, Middle East, Wars / Conflicts, Zionism » Several dead, hundreds injured in IDF-Palestinian clashes at #GreatReturn protest

At least 3 people have died and 365 others have been injured during clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli troops along the border of the Gaza Strip and Israel.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported the casualties after hundreds demonstrated Friday afternoon. IDF troops fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel pellets and tear gas at the protesters during the ongoing violence.

Thousands have gathered along the border for a six week-long ‘Great Return’ protest. The mass demonstration got underway on Friday as Palestinians held a mass rally to commemorate Land Day, which marks the killing of six unarmed civilians by Israeli forces in 1976.

Hamas said as many as 100,000 Palestinians will take part in Friday’s massive demonstration. The protest coincides with the week-long Jewish holiday of Passover, which regularly leads to increased tensions in the already-volatile region.

The six week-long demonstrations are calling for the right of return for Palestinian refugees to what is now Israel. The protests are set to culminate in May as Israel celebrates the 70th anniversary of its independence, which Palestinians call Nakba (castastrophe) day.

Tent cities have been set up by Palestinian activists, backed by factions of Fatah and Hamas, at five locations along the border. They feature medical facilities, media zones, portable toilets, running water and electricity.

“We have deployed more than 100 sharpshooters, who were called up from all of the military’s units, primarily from the special forces,” Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot said, Ynet news reports. “If lives are in jeopardy, there is permission to open fire.”

A Hamas official warned that there will be a reaction to any Israeli provocations. “We don’t want to see a bloodbath. Just a quiet protest,” he said to Israel Hayom, warning that “if there are Israeli provocations and if Israel deliberately harms protesters or our people we will mount a harsh response.”

Several dead, hundreds injured in IDF-Palestinian clashes at #GreatReturn protest ”

  1. Amy Lewis says:

Palestinians eh? What Palestinians? There never was a Palestinian nation, people, culture, or language. It’s a fiction, originally invented by the Roman Emperor Hadrian, and glommed onto by the Arab Muslims defeated in their genocidal wars against the Jewish state.

After crushing the Bar Kokhba revolt, the Roman Emperor Hadrian applied the name Syria Palestina to the entire region that had formerly included Judea province. Hadrian probably chose a name that revived the ancient name of Philistia (Palestine), combining it with that of the neighboring province of Syria, in an attempt to suppress Jewish connection to the land, although the actual Philistines from which the name derives had vanished from the pages of history centuries previously during the Neo-Assyrian Empire (911–605 BC).

Of course today Muslims employ the Palestine label for the same purpose as did Hadrian.

Gov’t Lets Hundreds of Pedophiles Go Free as YouTuber Convicted for “Offensive” Joke Video

childchild

As the Free Thought Project reported earlier this month, a jaw-dropping independent investigation has revealed that hundreds of children, some as young as 11-years-old, are estimated to have been drugged, beaten, and raped over the last several decades in a single town. According to the investigation, the abuse was allowed and is continued to be allowed because authorities look the other way.

For decades police have not only looked the other way as a massive child sex trafficking ring grew in their backyard but they also attempted to claim that “in most cases the sex is consensual.”

Countless victims and former victims have come forward detailing their abuse and the current abuse taking place in the British town of Telford. Despite hundreds of testimonies and graphic details, police have failed to act as they hide behind the idea that a child can somehow consent to sex with an adult.

In spite of dozens of the alleged abusers being named by their victims, little to no arrests have been made.

Consequently, just a little farther north from where this sex trafficking ring is currently taking place, a man was arrested, tried, and convicted of a hate crime because he made a joke video with his girlfriend’s dog.

An extremely disturbing precedent has just been set as a man’s attempt at humor has gotten him charged with and convicted of a hate crime while dozens of pedophiles walk free. As TFTP reported Wednesday, Mark Meechan now faces prison for a tasteless joke to get a reaction from his girlfriend.

In spite of apologizing, having no other history of racism, and providing a decent excuse as to why he would teach a dog to do a Hitler salute, the court, made up of apparently easily offended peers, found him guilty.

As JC.com reports, Meechan, of Coatbridge, Lanarkshire was convicted on Tuesday at Airdrie Sheriff’s Court in Scotland.

“My girlfriend is always ranting and raving about how cute and adorable her wee dog is,” Meecham said. “And so I thought I would turn him into the least cute thing I could think of, which is a Nazi.”

Meecham was subsequently found guilty of violating the Communications Act of 2003, which criminalizes the use of public telecommunications to send messages that discriminate against others based on their religious beliefs.

“I don’t actually hate Jewish people and the video was just an insight into the darker side of my humour, a prank to annoy my girlfriend and that I did not intend for people, other than people who knew my comedy, to see the video,” Meechan said, as he apologized for offending anyone. He then noted that the Holocaust was “an awful thing, and should never have happened, but, we still joke about it, because in our eyes laughing about terrible things often make them easier to deal with.”

Authorities, however, disagree.

“This court has taken the freedom of expression into consideration”, Sheriff O’Carroll said. “But the right to freedom of expression also comes with responsibility.”

The sheriff then attempts to justify throwing a man in a cage for a year because it “offended him.”

“The accused knew that the material was offensive and knew why it was offensive. He would have known it was grossly offensive to many Jewish people,” the sheriff explained.

Well, Sheriff O’Carroll, while this joke was certainly offensive, we find the continued abuse, trafficking, and rape of children far more offensive and we think it deserves far more attention than some ignorant YouTube video of a dog.

Indeed, the case of the former cop in the UK getting caught with 1,500 indecent images of children including pictures of rape, walking scot-free out of a courtroom earlier this year—with no jail time—was far more offensive than any silly dog on YouTube ever could be.
