Cop Road Rages on Amputee Vet for Honking At Him, Steals His Car, Leaves Him Stranded on Road

Bayonne, NJ — Road rage is a very real and very dangerous issue in America today. All too often a simple honk of the horn can end in a wreck, violence, or worse. However, when the person who rages carries a badge and a gun, they can claim legal authority to ticket, kidnap, cage, or kill you. Kieran Walsh, a 59-year-old Marine veteran, and partial amputee learned the hard way what a cop’s road rage looks like when he was left stranded on the side of the road last month.

Walsh, who suffers from diabetes was on his way to pick up medication on November 27 when he noticed a car barrelling dangerously toward him. Walsh then briefly honked his horn as the car came “flying down” the street. It was an unmarked police car, occupied by Officer Stephen Salot.

Because Salot claims the authority to detain people for victimless crimes, he moved to pull the person over who would dare to honk at him. “Evidently he didn’t like that,” Walsh said of the brief horn beeping.

Since he can’t exactly tell Walsh that he pulled him over in a fit of road rage, Salot told Walsh that he pulled him over because his handicap placard was hanging from his rearview mirror while he was driving and this allegedly obstructed his view.

After Salot had him pulled over for the non-crime of a hanging handicap tag, he then noticed that the sticker on Walsh’s license plate had expired—music to the ears of this would-be tyrant.

Because Walsh’s registration was expired, the cop claimed the authority to steal his car. Salot then informed Walsh that his vehicle would now be towed and he would be left stranded on the roadside.

“I’m thinking ‘Where the hell am I going to go? Am I going to have to walk five blocks home? I’ll never make it,” said Walsh who recently had a portion of his foot amputated because of complications with his diabetes.

Walsh told the officer about the surgical procedure he had two weeks ago but the seeming road raging cop couldn’t have cared less.

“The pain was unbelievable like it is right now,” said Walsh who added that by the time he arrived back home his foot was bleeding and he was forced to go back into the hospital as it became infected.

While the cop was waiting for the tow truck Walsh called his wife Melba out of desperation and asked her to plead with the officer not to leave him stranded on the side of the road. Not only was this would-be tyrant unsympathetic to the fact that he was stranding an amputee on the roadside but he threatened Walsh’s wife too.

“When I talked to him I said ‘I understand you have to take the car, but my husband just had his foot amputated, he doesn’t have a walker, he has no way of getting home, can you at least please stay with him or get him home safely,” she said. “And he said to me ‘Look, I’ve got paperwork to do and if you continue to waste my time I can find other things to give him a ticket for.’”

As NJ.com reports, Walsh was issued tickets for the obstructed windshield and for the expired registration. He then spent the next 45 minutes walking home on Avenue C. He said he took breaks on porches and got assistance from fellow pedestrians while crossing intersections.

“(The police officer) just left him there, he didn’t care about his health or his well-being, he had no concern for any issues that he had,” Melba said. “I couldn’t believe this police officer had no concern for him and just left him there.”

Melba, who was at work in another town at the time, said she rushed home as fast as should could, picked up the car from the impound, and went straight to the department to file a complaint.

While they have yet to hear any response from the department on the status of their complaint, the chances of anything happening to this officer are slim to none.

The Bayonne Police Department did not respond to a request for comment on Walsh’s allegations, as well as a request to make the officer available for comment, reports NJ.com.

“To see a man standing in the street — all right, take the car if you have to, I understand that’s the procedure — but my God, have a little compassion, the guy is standing there with his foot amputated,” Melba said. “I have no intentions of suing, I just don’t want to see this ever happen to somebody else again.

“It could have turned out a lot more seriously.”

Just in case you think that it may be an isolated incident of cops abusing the power when someone honks at them, consider the following similar case in Missouri.

Last month, computer programmer Scott Smith was sitting at a red light. When it turned green, the person in front of him refused to move forward. Doing what anyone in his situation would’ve done—given a reasonable amount of time to move—Smith politely honked his horn to alert the man in front of him that the light was green.

Because the person he honked at had a badge and a gun, Smith was detained, berated and extorted as the cop deliberately held him on the side of the road for over an hour while he called in back up to help carry out his act of road rage.

WATCH: Cop Road Rages on Innocent Man for Honking at Him, Calls In Backup to Punish Him

St. Louis, MO — When normal citizens lose their cool in an act of road rage, they either let it go and move on or face the consequences of their actions. However, if a police officer flips out in a fit of road rage, they can claim legal authority to ticket, kidnap, cage, or kill you. An incident involving Detective Steve Burle, from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, just so happens to illustrate this predicament quite well.

Last week, computer programmer Scott Smith was sitting at a red light. When it turned green, the person in front of him refused to move forward. Doing what anyone in his situation would’ve done—given a reasonable amount of time to move—Smith politely honked his horn to alert the man in front of him that the light was green.

As the man in front of him refused to move his vehicle, the honking became more progressive.

“The light turned green and the car in front of me just sat there,” Smith says. “So I honked once and he started to scoot forward, then just like hit his brakes real hard. So I honked again and he started to go forward and kinda threw his arms up, but wasn’t really moving, still just blocking the way. So then I just laid on the horn for a minute as he slowly crept forward, and then right as he got through the intersection he kinda pulled into the far left lane of Tucker.”

The cop then pulled Smith over.

“Is your fucking horn stuck, smartass?” detective Burle asks Smith in the video.

“Is your brake stuck?” Smith replies.

“Let me see your drivers’ license.”

“For what?” Smith asks. “For honking at someone who’s sitting at a green light. This is fucking ridiculous.”

“I’m sorry, what’d you just say?” demands Burle as he seemingly takes issue with Smith’s choice of vocabulary.

“I said this is fucking ridiculous,” Smith repeats.

“Well, you know what, maybe you shouldn’t be a fucking asshole,” Burle says.

“You’re sitting at a green light. I have to go back to work.”

“Really,” Burle answers. “I hope you’re not in a hurry. You’re going to be late for a little while, fucking jackoff,” responds this public servant.

A second cop then shows up and Smith recalls hearing them talk about trying to find something wrong with Smith’s actions so they could ticket the innocent motorist.

“You could tell he was just trying to find something wrong — he wanted a reason to be able to do something, ticket, get me out of the car,” Smith says.

A third cop then showed up to back up this officer’s fit of road rage. All three officers—on the taxpayers’ dime—then proceed to hold Smith on the side of the road for over 45 minutes until Burle walked back to the car and told Smith he’d be getting a ticket in the mail.

“A traffic violation shouldn’t end up with 40 minutes on the side of the road with you being an angry prick yelling at me through the window,” Smith says. “If I violated some violation, just give me my ticket and send me on my way.

“I really was on my way back to work,” Smith continues. “I was already late; I had two co-workers with me. It was just like, ‘Dude, whoever you are, just get the hell out of the way. Quit being an asshole just because I honked at you.’”

As Patch.com reports, the department has launched an Internal Affairs investigation related to the incident, and Smith has said he plans to file a formal complaint.

However, we won’t be holding our breath to see if this cop is held accountable.

Burle has a history of abuse and has been sued at least three times for excessive use of force, and he reportedly liked a racist Facebook post in July 2016 that cost a Fox 2 reporter his job and led to calls for the firing of Police Lt. Jerry Foster, who originally wrote the post, according to Patch.

Ironically—and, frankly, quite frighteningly— Burle is part of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Force Investigation Unit, which was created after the death of Michael Brown. This cop who called in backup and ticketed a man for honking at him while calling him a “fucking jackoff” is responsible for investigating police officer-involved shootings in the city. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a prime example of the corruption and tyranny of the thin blue line.

Crazed Cop Follows Elderly Couple Home, Beats and Arrests Them—for Honking Horn

couplecouple

Akron, OH — An elderly Ohio couple, who’ve never been in trouble with the law before got a hefty dose of the police state this week because they honked their horn at the wrong cop.

Carl and Margaret Wilson were on their way home this week when they came up behind a Summit Metro Parks ranger.

“I tooted the horn and went around; he swung out behind me and followed me up,” Carl Wilson told FOX 8.

But that is when the ranger’s road rage kicked in and he began following the couple home.

“So I come up here and pulled in the driveway and that’s when he pulled in behind me,” Carl explained.

Carl then told FOX 8 that he never expected what was going to happen next.

“He was screaming, said, ‘get out of the truck,’ and ‘get on the ground.’ I said, ‘what`s wrong with you?’ I said, ‘I’m no criminal; why did you follow me?’”

Wilson explained that the ranger pulled him from his truck and threw him on the ground.

“He was absolutely crazy like he was on drugs and he wouldn’t answer any questions.”

Margaret explained that the crazed officer scared her and she thought he may hurt Carl who has to wear a protective vest due to an operation on his heart.

“I just thought he was going to hurt him because, you know, he has no protection here,” she said.

When Margaret got out of her car to confront the apparent road raging officer, he then threatened to hurt her.

“I said, ‘you’re not going to hurt Carl,’ and he said, ‘woman, stand back; I’ll spray you with this mace.’”

Suddenly, however, instead of simply threatening to hurt the elderly woman, the officer took to actually hurting her.

“We were standing here at the door of the truck and he ran all the way back and took his foot and kicked her, messed up her elbow, messed up her back,” Carl explained.

A family friend took to Facebook to explain what happened.

These are Mary’s parents, Carl and Margaret Wilson. Both in their seventies, and Carl is an Army Veteran. They were brutalized by park ranger, Jeffrey Axner, in Akron Ohio. (Summit County) This can not be happening!?! Elderly, disabled and citizens of Akron for more than 50 years they have lived in the same home in Akron for all their married lives. Mary’s father wears a brace to protect his heart since an infection after open heart surgery caused him to have his breast bones removed. He was knocked to his knees and handcuffed behind his back for an hour and a half for the crime of honking his horn at a park ranger. This fraud also kicked Mary’s mother in the stomach, knocking her to the ground and handcuffed her as well. She laid on the ground, handcuffed and crying, shaking in fear while this monster threatened to mace her. Margaret is in frail health, having had two brain surgeries and a recent shoulder surgery. This could be your parents! If our country allows this kind of brutality to the old and frail, how are any of us safe?

Naturally, Carl and Margaret, who’ve never had a run-in with police before were terrified after this happened. They explained to FOX 8 that it was especially terrifying considering the fact that it happened in their own front yard.

Carl then had some choice words about this tyrant who he says should’ve never been given a badge.

“I wasn’t even in the park. The guy, he shouldn’t even be a dogcatcher, let alone in the park as a ranger,” Carl said.

For honking at the power tripping officer, the elderly couple was attacked and arrested. However, the charges were so glaringly false that the Summit Metro Parks released a statement noting they are going to be dropping them immediately.

Summit Metro Parks has placed a park ranger on paid administrative leave following an incident yesterday involving a senior couple in their vehicle. We have also requested that all charges brought against the couple after the incident be dropped immediately.

The incident began yesterday morning at the Newton Street entrance of Goodyear Heights Metro Park. The ranger pursued the couple’s vehicle to a residence on Darrow Road and handcuffed both individuals after an altercation. A backup ranger was summoned to the scene, and an Akron Police officer driving past the residence also stopped to offer assistance. The couple was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of official business, aggravated menacing and failure to comply.

We are conducting an internal investigation of the incident and have also reached out to the couple to learn more about the matter from their perspective. We are asking the Akron Police Department to conduct a third-party review as well. We will cooperate fully with APD’s review.

We take this matter very seriously. Our rangers are commissioned peace officers who enforce the park district’s rules, regulations and other applicable laws to protect resources, keep visitors safe and maintain good order. We hold our rangers, and all of our employees, to a high standard of conduct. Even though this incident unfolded outside park boundaries, we expect them to live up to that standard. The public deserves no less.

As soon as we learned of this incident, we immediately placed the ranger on paid administrative leave and began our investigation, in keeping with Summit Metro Parks policies and procedures, and in keeping with our contract with the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (OPBA).

We will provide updated information as new developments occur.

The Wilsons told FOX 8 they are hiring an attorney so we can rest assured the taxpayers of Akron will pay for this insane cop’s behavior

“I don’t wish anything bad on him, but I think they should prosecute him so that he don’t act like that anymore and hurt someone else.”
