When you have no clue about firearms: USA Today writes about “less lethal” weapons used in Santa Fe shooting

FOTM–After the Santa Fe shooting on Friday since it was discovered that the shooter didn’t use an AR-15, USA Today tweeted the following:

Two details set the Santa Fe shooting apart from other recent deadly attacks: explosives and the use of less-lethal weapons.https://usat.ly/2rTfjyA.”

Ten people dead from a .38 revolver and a shotgun. How’s that “less lethal” narrative working for you, USA Today?

Why couldn’t USA Today write about the MULTIPLE ILLEGAL ACTS committed during this shooting with “less lethal” weapons:

  • The shooter committed murder, which is illegal.
  • At 17, the shooter was not allowed to purchase the guns and stole them from his father, which is illegal.
  • The shooter carried guns and ammunition at the school, which is illegal.
  • The shooter was not eligible for a “License to Carry” (conceal carry in Texas) and hid his guns, which is illegal.
  • The shooter deployed inoperable explosive deviceswhich is illegal.

Yet USA Today is going to run with firearms being “less lethal” than others. These people will do and say anything to spin their gun control confiscation narrative.

Cops Are Taking People’s Firearms, Selling Them to Make a Profit and It’s 100% Legal

As calls for gun control increase among the parties that claim it would put an end to mass shootings, an investigation is revealing that state sheriff’s deputies are taking the firearms they have seized from individuals and re-selling them to generate revenue—only to find that some of the guns go on to be used in other crimes.

According to the results of an investigation reported by the Associated Press, in the state of Washington alone, “more than a dozen of the guns sold by law enforcement since 2010 ended up in new crimes.”

The firearms are also typically sold to arms dealers in large batches, with a recent lot of 331 guns being transferred from the Washington State Patrol to a gun dealer in Knoxville, Tennessee. Included in that batch were at least five assault rifles.

Not only are state police re-selling firearms, they are selling them at cheap prices, ensuring that they will continue to receive revenue in return for the items they obtained for free. As the investigation noted, while a new AR-15 costs between $650 and $950 online, the Thurston County Narcotics Task Force auctioned two of the firearms for $250 and $370 each.

The ArmaLite Rifle, or AR-15, has recently become the most demonized firearm of the moment after it was reportedly used in a school shooting in Parkland, Florida, and while the AP investigation includes the gun in its list of “assault rifles,” it should be noted that the AR-15 does not have select-fire capabilities and by definition, is not an assault rifle.

However, the idea that state police are seizing firearms—including AR-15’s, AK47’s and SKS rifles—should anger the crowd that supports stricter gun control measures, the crowd that supports the Second Amendment, and the crowd that supports increased police accountability.

Yakima Police Captain Jeff Schneider told the AP that he is concerned about the possibility of the firearms being used in future crimes after they are sold by police. “It’s possible a firearm sold by a police agency could be used in a mass shooting, but since they are rare, it’s more likely it could be used in a crime against police. That’s a real threat,” he said.

In contrast, 2017 was actually one of the safest years for police officers in more than 50 years. According to data from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, a total of 128 officers died on duty, 44 of whom were shot and killed. Nearly one-third fewer officers died of gunshot wounds in the last year, when compared to 2016.

While the number of police officers who died on the job in 2017 was historically low, the number of people killed by police officers continued to stay alarmingly high at nearly 1,200 deaths, according to the Killed By Police database.

Chief Schneider may have incorrectly stated that the practice of reselling confiscated firearms will lead to increase crimes against police, but he was not wrong about the fact that it would result in some sort of corruption.

For example, in the city of Baltimore, the police department’s elite Gun Trace Task Force was praised for its impressive ability to confiscate illegal firearms from the public. That was up until the same men who were applauded for the ways they were serving society were then exposed for stealing excessive amounts of cash and drugs during the raids.

As The Free Thought Project has reported, the Drug Enforcement Administration began investigating the task force after a Baltimore detective was caught on a wiretap discussing drug trafficking with a drug dealer who was being investigated. Since then, several members of the task force have been indicted, including the group’s supervisor, who is accused of stealing more than $100,000 during raids between 2014 and 2016.

The department has also faced criticism for Body Camera footage that showed officers planting drugs on innocent citizens and working together to manufacture evidence. One Baltimore detective who intended to expose the actions of his corrupt colleagues was shot with his own gun, the day before he was set to testify in court.

Radicalized policewoman arrested in Paris ‘no-go zone’ after stealing firearms

firearm gun

A 20-year-old policewoman, who has been described as “radicalised” by colleagues, has been arrested in the heavily migrant-populated Paris suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis after being accused of stealing firearms.

The 20-year-old woman was arrested late last week for allegedly stealing two Sig Sauer 9mm calibre pistols. Three other suspects have also been arrested in connection with the case including a member of the French military, Le Parisien reports.

Colleagues of the 20-year-old officer described her as having an unpleasant personality and said they suspected she might hold radical Islamic extremist sympathies.

The theft is thought to have occurred last August and the gun profile matches that of a pistol which was used to fire on a soldier who was jogging in a forest in Ozoir-la-Ferrière in November. The soldier was shot in the leg and escaped the encounter without fatal injuries.

During the raids that led to the arrest of the policewoman, one of the pistols was recovered while the other has yet to be found by authorities.

A police executive remarked on the case saying it was “incomprehensible” why the female officer would steal the pistols from the department, which are easily traced, as opposed to buying weapons on the street.

The availability of weapons on the street in France has become a worrying issue for authorities as several drug raids over the last year have revealed military-style weapons in the hands of criminals.

Last November, in the regions of Eure-et-Loir, Eure, and Yvelines, police raided drug dealers and found several anti-tank rocket launchers, automatic rifles, and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

In several cases, the Islamic radicals who have attempted or carried out terror attacks are criminals and may have used those connections to acquire the same sort of weaponry.

Several attacks, including the Paris Bataclan massacre and the Charlie Hebdo attack in 2015, have seen terrorists use fully automatic military-grade weapons.

Medical TYRANNY in paradise: Hawaii to go door to door, confiscating LEGAL firearms from all medical marijuana users

Image: Medical TYRANNY in paradise: Hawaii to go door to door, confiscating LEGAL firearms from all medical marijuana users

(Natural News)
Over the past several years, liberals have constantly assured the American people that even though they support the idea of stricter gun laws, they are not out to take away anyone’s legally owned firearms. But liberals lie every chance that they get, so it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that many of them are now starting to walk back on their promise.

Recently, the Honolulu Police Department in Hawaii has sent a series of letters to residents who use medical marijuana, informing them that they are disqualified from owning firearms, even if they were obtained legally and in compliance with state and federal law. If the medical marijuana users refuse to turn over their firearms, then presumably, they will face state-sanctioned violence until the guns are removed.

“This letter is to inform you that under the provisions of the Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS), Section 134-7(a) you are disqualified from firearms ownership, possession, or controlling firearms. Your medical marijuana use disqualifies you from ownership of firearms and ammunition,” the letter reads. It goes on to say that residents who use medical marijuana “have 30 days upon receipt of this letter to voluntarily surrender your firearms, permit and ammunition to the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) or otherwise transfer ownership.”

The letter then informs medical marijuana users that they must obtain a clearance letter from a medical doctor if they wish to purchase any firearms or ammunition in the future. (Related: Gun control is incredibly popular among people who live under tyranny and oppression – don’t they get it?)

The first question that we have to ask ourselves it his: Where are all the liberals speaking out against this? Right now, every single leftist within Washington D.C. and the mainstream media who has ever uttered the words “we are not out to take away anyone’s guns” should be out on the frontlines condemning Hawaii for this lawless and blatantly unconstitutional act. But they’re not because – surprise! – they were never serious about rejecting the idea of gun confiscation in the first place.

Last month, The Boston Globe published a piece titled “Hand Over Your Weapons,” which argued that in order to minimize the number of mass shootings that occur in the United States, lawmakers may have to start considering gun confiscation from law abiding citizens.

After arguing that the gun control proposals currently on the table may not go far enough, The Boston Globe piece stated: “In other words, the proposals aren’t just difficult to enact in the current political climate; their practical effects would also be quite limited. On occasion, though, Democrats will make oblique reference to a more sweeping policy change: seizing a huge number of weapons from law-abiding citizens.”

So in other words, liberals are committed to the idea that “we can’t just go around knocking on doors and deporting illegal aliens,” but at the same time, going door-to-door and confiscating firearms is completely appropriate and entirely possible. They don’t even make any sense, they are obviously unhinged, and yet they think that they have the authority to tell the American people what’s best for themselves and their families. That is an incredibly dangerous combination.

Whether it happens in Hawaii or elsewhere, if the liberal Democrats really are serious about confiscating firearms from those who have legally obtained them, then they will be met with an incredible amount of resistance; in fact, gun confiscation could even potentially lead to civil war. The American people are committed to defending their Second Amendment rights, and no matter what laws are passed or what ideas are proposed, they will not lay down their arms without a fight.

‘Surrender Your Firearms’ – Gov’t Now Confiscating Guns from Medical Cannabis Users

Residents in Honolulu, Hawaii, were recently informed that if they use cannabis for medicinal purposes, they will be given 30 days to “voluntarily surrender” their firearms and ammunition before the Honolulu Police Department begins confiscation.

A series of letters were mailed out from Police Chief Susan Ballard on Nov. 13, as confirmed by a report from Leafly, which noted that the letters appear to represent “the first time a law enforcement agency has proactively sought out state-registered medical marijuana patients and ordered them to surrender their guns.”

Image via Russ Belville, The Marijuana Agenda

The letter from Chief Ballard starts off by claiming that its purpose is to inform the residents of a revised statute. “You are disqualified from firearms ownership, possession or controlling firearms. Your medical marijuana use disqualifies you from ownership of firearms and ammunition,” Ballard wrote.

The letter references H.R.S. 134-7.3, which dictates “Seizure of Firearms Upon Disqualification.” Ballard claimed that residents have until Dec. 13 to “voluntary surrender” their firearms, in order to be in compliance with the law.

“If you currently own or have firearms, you have 30 days upon the receipt of this letter to voluntarily surrender your firearms, permit and ammunition to the Honolulu Police Department or otherwise transfer ownership.

The letter claimed that “a medical doctor’s clearance letter is required for any future firearms applications or returns of firearms from HPD evidence.”

This order serves as another reminder of the clash between state law and federal law. While medical cannabis is legal in Hawaii and the state’s first dispensary opened in August, it is still illegal under federal law. In fact, according to the United States government, the cannabis plant is one of the most dangerous drugs in existence, and has no medicinal value whatsoever—despite a wealth of evidence that proves otherwise.

Even though cannabis has been legalized for either medical or recreational use in 29 states and Washington D.C., the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms sent a letter to all firearms licensees in 2011, claiming that even if individuals have state-issued medical cannabis cards, it is still illegal for them to own firearms because cannabis is still a Schedule I substance under federal law:

“Any person who uses or is addicted to marijuana, regardless of whether his or her State has passed legislation authorizing marijuana use for medicinal purposes, is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance, and is prohibited by Federal law from possessing firearms and ammunition.”

As The Free Thought Project has documented, not only has pure cannabis never been found to make its user more violent, but research continues to prove its medicinal benefits. These studies include evidence that cannabis can stop HIV from becoming AIDS, that the majority of cannabis users give up prescription opiate medications, and that cannabis has a “significant” effect on killing cancer cells.

There is also a level of hypocrisy when taking into account the fact that many of the prescription drugs individuals are prescribed for illnesses and symptoms that could have been healed naturally with cannabis, contain dangerous and life-threatening side effects.

In fact, several of the recent mass shootings such as the Las Vegas shooting, which killed 58 people; and the Orlando shooting, which killed 49 people; were carried out by suspects who were under the influence of psychotropic drugs, which can cause aggressive or violent behavior.

Over 400 Million Privately Owned Firearms In The United States: U.S. Active Military Population 1.34 Million

Over 400 Million Civilian Firearms owned in the United States

The number of private firearms in the United States continues to soar. According to Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (ATF) figures just released, the number of firearms added to the private stock in 2015 was 12,945,416.

That total lags a bit more than a year because the ATF is legislatively bound to hold the numbers for at least that long before releasing them. This protects the various companies’ proprietary rights and possible competitive advantages that come with the numbers.

The 2015 numbers bring the total number of private firearms in the United States to 388.5 million, almost the total I predicted a year ago. From Gun Watch, 1 September, 2015:

At the end of 2015, the stock should be at 388+ million firearms. Given the current trend, another 12 million or more firearms will be added in 2016, bringing the total stock to 400 million+ firearms by the end of the Obama presidency.

  1. Georgia Supreme Court Rules Right To Self Defense Supersedes  Zero Tolerance Ploy

At the end of 2008 and the beginning of the Obama presidency, there were about 308 million private firearms in the United States. After eight years of President Obama in the highest executive position, I predict that there will be over 400 million.

In 2016, there were 27,538,673 NICS checks performed. That conservatively translates into another 15.6 million firearms added to the private stock in the United States.

NICS Gun Checks For Purchase

NICS checks are done for reasons other than firearm purchases. NICS performs a check when people buy firearms from federally licensed dealers in the United States. The system is also used to perform background checks on people applying for firearm carry permits in those states where such permits are required or offered by law.

There’s also the fact that one check is performed when purchasing multiple firearms. So while the number of NICS checks isn’t a perfect measure of the number of firearms sold, a good rule of thumb is that the average number of private firearms added to the US stock is typically about .6 firearms per NICS check.

So “Trump slump” or no, Americans’ demand for for firearms shows no sign of significantly reducing any time soon.

FBI Vehicle Loaded with Firearms Stolen at Chicago Gas Station

An FBI vehicle loaded with tactical gear and firearms was stolen at a Chicago gas station after an agent left it “momentarily unattended with the engine running.”

At 12:10am Monday, a male suspect purportedly jumped into the 32-year-old FBI agent’s 2014 Chevy Equinox and drove away, the Chicago Sun Times reported, according to FBI spokesman John Althen and Chicago Police.

The Chicago Patch reported that a ballistic vest, three firearms – two Glock handguns and one M4 carbine rifle – and SWAT tactical equipment were among the items that were in the stolen car.

Other equipment, including a stun grenade, ammunition and a gas mask, were abandoned in the area and retrieved by police.

The incident was initially reported to the Chicago Police Department who are now working with the FBI on the case, an FBI spokesperson said.

One resident is concerned about where the stolen guns may end up and also had some choice words for the FBI agent.

“Of all people, he should know better. Those guns are going to be on the street and could be used to hurt or kill someone. If it were up to me I would fire him,” the unnamed resident told WGN.

In April, the unmarked police car of Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson was ransacked, but nothing was stolen from the vehicle. Johnson had left his vehicle unlocked.

Chicago has had a major problem with crime and violence in recent years, with some new statistics shedding more light on shootings in the city.

June of this year had been the fourth straight month of reductions in shootings in Chicago compared to the same period last year.

Shootings in the city have dropped by 14 percent in the first six months of 2017, as compared to 2016. The city has recorded 1,752 shootings in the city so far this year. Of those shot, 309 have died, according to Chicago Police statistics as reported by the Chicago Sun Times.

On June 1, a task force which connects the Chicago police with state and federal law enforcement to combat gun violence was established.
