Google employees finally wake up and realize they’re working for PURE EVIL… AI drone "terminator" project meets internal resistance

Image: Google employees finally wake up and realize they’re working for PURE EVIL… AI drone “terminator” project meets internal resistance

(Natural News)
More than a dozen Google employees have quit working for the tech monolith in recent weeks as a response to the company’s forging ahead with a Terminator-esque artificial intelligence (AI) program that could end up weaponizing machine-learning technologies for use in military war games.

Known as “Project Maven,” the Department of Defense (DoD) collaboration seeks to expand the functionality of AI technologies by “teaching” AI drones how to better identify “people and objects of interest.” According to a Google spokesperson, the program won’t be used to harm anyone, but will instead by “scoped for non-offensive purposes.”

But many Google employees aren’t convinced, as almost 4,000 of them have signed onto an internal company petition calling on Google to abort the project and get back to not being evil, which is what the world’s largest search engine claims as part of its mission statement.

According to reports, those in the know recognize that, despite Google’s claims about its supposedly innocuous nature, the technology “is being built for the military, and once it’s delivered, it could easily be used to assist in [lethal] attacks.” The petition letter also states: “We believe that Google should not be in the business of war.”

“Amid growing fears of biased and weaponized AI, Google is already struggling to keep the public’s trust,” the letter adds. “The argument that other firms, like Microsoft and Amazon, are also participating doesn’t make this any less risky for Google. Google’s unique history, its motto Don’t Be Evil, and its direct reach into the lives of billions of users set it apart.”

Is Google just another asset spook of the military-industrial complex?

Others who don’t currently work for Google agree, including members of the International Committee for Robotics Arms Control (ICRAC). This group issued its own letter of a similar nature, signed by more than 200 researchers and academics involved with artificial intelligence, that chastises Google for agreeing to participate with the DoD and other federal government agencies in developing the technology.

This letter emphasizes that Google should “commit to not weaponizing its technology,” which the company can do by immediately terminating its contract with the DoD. By doing this, Google will clearly reiterate that its purpose is to help people find information quickly, and not to help rogue Deep State entities achieve technological breakthroughs in military weaponry that could one day render humans as slaves of fake-smart robots.

“If ethical action on the part of tech companies requires consideration of who might benefit from a technology and who might be harmed, we can say with certainty that no topic deserves more sober reflection – no technology has higher stakes – than algorithms meant to target and kill at a distance and without public accountability.” the ICRAC letter states.

In partnership with the Pentagon, the “Pentagon AI” initiative, as it’s also being called, has already received a whopping $7.4 billion cash infusion from the DoD – with the stated mission of “accelerat[ing] DOD’s integration of big data and machine learning.”

This doesn’t sit well with Google employees and outside “techies” alike, including one anonymous Google employee who reportedly told one media outlet that he doesn’t understand why Google, being as large as it is, would even bother with such a project.

“It’s not like Google is this little machine-learning startup that’s trying to find clients in different industries,” this anonymous employee is quoted as saying. “It just seems like it makes sense for Google and Google’s reputation to stay out of that.”

When speaking out internally, as Google employees are encouraged to do, had no effect, this same employee decided to quit.

“Actions speak louder than words, and that’s a standard I hold myself to as well,” he added. “I wasn’t happy just voicing my concerns internally. The strongest possible statement I could take against this was to leave.”

BREAKING: Some Body Camera Footage of Las Vegas Shooting Finally Released

Las Vegas, NV — For seven months, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has been caught lying, railroaded journalists, and done everything in their power to keep the facts on what happened on 1 October from ever reaching the public. The department’s desire to keep the information secret was so overwhelming that they fought its release all the way to the Nevada Supreme Court. On Friday, the court rejected the police department’s bid to keep the records secret and they are now forced to hand everything over.

On Wednesday, the department began releasing footage from the officers’ body camera as they entered Stephen Paddock’s suite in Mandalay Bay on the night of the shooting. Not surprisingly, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo announced on Tuesday that the first officer into the room that night, Levi Hancock, did not activate his camera.

“I don’t know how this footage will be played in the media, but I want to warn you, if you are a survivor or a family who lost a loved one, you should know the video from this concert is disturbing and graphic,” he said.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the footage is just a slice of the many body camera clips and 911 calls the department has been ordered to release in response to a lawsuit brought by the Review-Journal and other media outlets.

“What is seen on those videos in no way changes the facts that we were able to clarify for you shortly after the crime,” Lombardo said at a Tuesday news conference, as he refused to answer any questions from reports.

Lombardo attempted to claim that his department didn’t want to release the footage in an effort “to protect the victims and their families of this incident,” Lombardo said.

“I want the community to know the release of the videos, 911 and documents will have a significant impact on the victims of this tragedy,” he said.

However, the victims are the some of ones who are demanding the information be released as part of a massive lawsuit.

“Now that it is facing having to follow the law and produce records, Metro is suggesting that the media is trying to victimize the community,” Review-Journal attorney Maggie McLetchie said. “The truth is that the community still has many unanswered questions about the police response to 1 October, and it has a right to assess what happened for itself. The quest for transparency and accountability is about making sure we, as a community, do everything we can to uncover the truth and avoid future tragedies.”

After shifting blame to the victims for not being transparent, Lombardo then claimed that they simply didn’t have the manpower to release the records.

Transparency is not a burden for government agencies,” Review-Journal Executive Editor Glenn Cook said, negating that claim. “It is a legal obligation that is essential to the preservation of the public’s trust.”

Indeed it is.

The video was release and the Associated Press issued the following statement:

Las Vegas police have released some officer body-camera video from the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Videos made public Wednesday are expected to show what two officers found entering a 32nd-floor hotel room where Stephen Paddock unleashed gunfire on a concert last October.

Police say he killed 58 people and injured hundreds more before killing himself as authorities closed in.

The footage represents a sample of hundreds of hours of body-camera recordings that police say don’t answer why Paddock opened fire.

The Associated Press and other media outlets sued to obtain videos, 911 recordings, evidence logs and interview reports.

Authorities say more will be released in coming weeks.

As the video shows, officers appear to be outside Paddock’s suite and a loud bang or gunshot is heard.

“Rifles up, move up” an officer can be heard saying at one point in the video.

“Check under the bed,” another officer orders later in the video.

According to the Review-Journal, the clips come from two different canine officers, Sgt. Joshua Bitsko and David Newton, police said.

Western Media Finally Investigates Alleged Chemical Attack in Syria and Finds “NO EVIDENCE”

Douma, Syria – Critically acclaimed war reporter Robert Fisk published a stunning account of the alleged chemical attack in the Damascus suburb of Douma on April 7, which included testimony from a doctor who works at the hospital featured in the widely circulated video purported to be the aftermath of a Syrian government chemical strike.

In an exclusive first-hand report for the Independent, Fisk, who has twice won the British Press Awards’ Journalist of the Year prize and is a seven-time winner of the British Press Awards’ Foreign Correspondent of the Year, reported:

This is the story of a town called Douma, a ravaged, stinking place of smashed apartment blocks–and of an underground clinic whose images of suffering allowed three of the Western world’s most powerful nations to bomb Syria last week. There’s even a friendly doctor in a green coat who, when I track him down in the very same clinic, cheerfully tells me that the “gas” videotape which horrified the world– despite all the doubters–is perfectly genuine.

War stories, however, have a habit of growing darker. For the same 58-year old senior Syrian doctor then adds something profoundly uncomfortable: the patients, he says, were overcome not by gas but by oxygen starvation in the rubbish-filled tunnels and basements in which they lived, on a night of wind and heavy shelling that stirred up a dust storm.

Contrary to the narrative faithfully reported by western mass media, the bombshell report from Fisk—who became famous for being among the few reporters in history to conduct face-to-face interviews with Osama bin Laden, which he did on three occasions between 1993 and 1997—found, after interviewing numerous local Douma residents, there was no evidence to substantiate the reported chemical attack as claimed by Saudi-sponsored jihadist group Jaish al-Islam (Army of Islam).

Fisk reports that the Syrian doctor, Dr Assim Rahaibani, who works at the hospital told him:

“I was with my family in the basement of my home three hundred metres from here on the night but all the doctors know what happened. There was a lot of shelling [by government forces] and aircraft were always over Douma at night–but on this night, there was wind and huge dust clouds began to come into the basements and cellars where people lived. People began to arrive here suffering from hypoxia, oxygen loss. Then someone at the door, a ‘White Helmet,’ shouted ‘Gas!’ and a panic began. People started throwing water over each other. Yes, the video was filmed here, it is genuine, but what you see are people suffering from hypoxia–not gas poisoning.”

Witnesses told Fisk that the infamous White Helmets, officially known as Syria Civil Defence, actually operate as a civil defense for the “terrorist” rebel forces. The White Helmets are largely funded by the U.S. and UK governments and were founded in 2013 by James Le Mesurier, a former British military intelligence officer, and private security specialist.

Providing perhaps additional evidence that the White Helmets operate not a civil defense, but a defense on behalf of the Islamist terrorists, Fisk reports:

The White Helmets–the medical first responders already legendary in the West but with some interesting corners to their own story–played a familiar role during the battles. They are partly funded by the Foreign Office and most of the local offices were staffed by Douma men. I found their wrecked offices not far from Dr Rahaibani’s clinic. A gas mask had been left outside a food container with one eye-piece pierced and a pile of dirty military camouflage uniforms lay inside one room. Planted, I asked myself? I doubt it. The place was heaped with capsules, broken medical equipment and files, bedding and mattresses.

Of course we must hear their side of the story, but it will not happen here: a woman told us that every member of the White Helmets in Douma abandoned their main headquarters and chose to take the government-organised and Russian-protected buses to the rebel province of Idlib with the armed groups when the final truce was agreed.

See how that works—the terrorists leave the city and White Helmets are gone. So, when people perpetuate the lie that the White Helmets are Syrian civil defense, be sure to correct them and note that they are the civil defense for the Islamist jihadi forces that are attempting to overthrow the government and not the Syrian people.

In regards to purported “moderate rebels” you hear about in the western press, the Syrians that Fisk interviewed had a vastly different outlook on who they were:

Before we go any further, readers should be aware that this is not the only story in Douma. There are the many people I talked to amid the ruins of the town who said they had “never believed in” gas stories – which were usually put about, they claimed, by the armed Islamist groups. These particular jihadis survived under a blizzard of shellfire by living in other’s people’s homes and in vast, wide tunnels with underground roads carved through the living rock by prisoners with pick-axes on three levels beneath the town. I walked through three of them yesterday, vast corridors of living rock which still contained Russian–yes, Russian–rockets and burned-out cars.

So the story of Douma is thus not just a story of gas–or no gas, as the case may be. It’s about thousands of people who did not opt for evacuation from Douma on buses that left last week, alongside the gunmen with whom they had to live like troglodytes for months in order to survive. I walked across this town quite freely yesterday without soldier, policeman or minder to haunt my footsteps, just two Syrian friends, a camera and a notebook. I sometimes had to clamber across 20-foot-high ramparts, up and down almost sheer walls of earth. Happy to see foreigners among them, happier still that the siege is finally over, they are mostly smiling; those whose faces you can see, of course, because a surprising number of Douma’s women wear full-length black hijab.

With a policy platform of destroying ISIS and fighting terrorism, the Trump Administration has seemingly chosen the all too familiar path of the U.S. covertly aligning itself with insurgent groups meant to operate as a proxy army to foment regime change that Washington deems of significant geostrategic importance.

While most Americans understand that Saudi Arabia is the most prolific state sponsor of terrorism in the world, the close relationship being forged between Trump and Mohammed Bin Salman leads one to believe that the perceived financial incentives (Aramaco IPO) of strategic partnering with the Kingdom seems to outweigh Trump’s voiced concerns over Saudi involvement in 9/11 and their funding of global terrorism.

What is irrefutable is that the Saudis have chosen to supply massive amounts of arms and funding to numerous Islamist jihadi groups active in trying to overthrow the Assad government, as evidenced by internal diplomatic cable, released by WikiLeaks in 2015, revealing the Saudi government was set on Assad’s violent ouster “by all means available.”

Noting the rigorous independence of his reporting, Fisk wrote that he came to Douma as part of a convoy of journalists escorted by the Syrian government, but according to Fisk, “once a boring general had announced outside a wrecked council house ‘I have no information’… I just walked away.”

While Fisk is sure to come under attack by critics, the New York Times has previously referred to him as “probably the most famous foreign correspondent in Britain” while The Guardian has called him “one of the most famous journalists in the world.”

Additionally, a report from Douma, Syria, by One America’s Pearson Sharp, confirmed Fisk’s reporting, noting that residents there deny an attack happened and instead claim it was staged by rebel forces in an effort to precipitate a response from western forces.

Sharp said that he interviewed between 30 to 40 residents of Douma, and in a series of social media posts, he wrote:

I just spoke with a Syrian woman who lives in Douma. I asked her about the attack there, and she laughed, and said no! There was no chemical attack or any other kind of attack.

She told me the area in question was in her neighborhood, and that if an attack had happened, she and her family would be dead.

I asked her what did happen, and she said the rebel terrorists lied, created the event from nothing, and used it as a cover to convince America and Europe to attack Assad’s forces.

Not making this up. Just reporting what people who actually live here are telling me.

Sharp emphasized that his reporting was not scripted or staged, but with actual local residents of Douma. He said that not one person told him that no chemical attack had taken place, but residents confirmed that they believe the alleged attack was staged by “terrorists rebels” so they could escape the oncoming Syrian army.

Cop Who Was Fired For Not Writing Enough Tickets Finally Speaks Out On Video

A police officer in Alpharetta, Georgia, claims he was fired for not issuing enough traffic tickets to motorists in the area.

Officer Daniel Capps was on the force for nine years and was ultimately terminated because he declined to issue a traffic ticket to a driver after he bumped into another car. According to a department memo directed at officers, if there is an accident with any “damage that needs to be fixed with more than a little wax and elbow grease, you need to write the citation” — even if there are no injuries and the damage is minor.

As long as officers are called to the scene of a car accident, this rule is supposed to apply. But Capps decided to let the motorist who caused the minor incident off with a warning.

“Someone’s already needing to pay the insurance. It’s a hassle. There’s no need to have a ticket on top of that,” he told local outlet CBS 46, adding that he doesn’t believe it’s a police officer’s job to make people’s lives miserable.

According to Charles Westover, who rear-ended the driver in front of him at a slow speed, “To have a blanket policy that applies to all kinds of incidents doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.”

He said that when Capps arrived at the scene, he was “extremely courteous, very professional, acknowledging it was a minor fender bender and there was no need to issue a ticket.

According to Capps’ police report, no one was injured, and only the bumpers of the cars were damaged. The person whose car was hit did not object to Capps’ decision not to write a citation.

“I was pretty appalled, I am appalled. That doesn’t seem right to put that kind of mark on this gentleman’s life,” Westover said.

CBS 46 attempted to obtain comment from Police Chief John Robison, but he did not reply. Capps, who says he issued a lot of warnings as an officer, expanded on his views, suggesting the policy is the work of a single city supervisor:

He’s just one of those guys who likes writing tickets. He just gets off on, in their words, causing other people pain. I wasn’t like that. I gave a lot of warnings. If someone needed a ticket, they would get one. If they were courteous and understood what they did wrong, I wouldn’t write a citation. Same thing with accidents.”

In a statement, assistant city manager James Drinkard told CBS 46 the traffic incident was only the latest example of Capps’ insubordination:

“While the decision to terminate employment was based, in part, on the former employee’s decision to ignore lawful departmental policy and refuse to properly cite at-fault drivers who caused traffic crashes that resulted in property damage, that behavior was part of a pattern of performance and poor decision making that was simply not acceptable. The City of Alpharetta makes no apology for holding our personnel responsible for properly carrying out their assigned duties, being stewards of the public trust, and advancing our mission to enhance the quality of life of our residents, businesses, and visitors.”

Some examples of Capps’ “poor decision making” include wearing earrings against dress code, stopping by his home to use the restroom instead of using public restrooms, leaving his gun attended at a police firing range, and declining to charge a juvenile for shoplifting after she was caught stealing from a Macy’s department store. He opted instead to hand the girl over to her parents.

Further, after being reprimanded for not issuing enough tickets back in january, he asked other officers if they had an issue with the strict ticketing policy. “According to official documents, the lieutenant considered it an attempt to undermine his authority and Capps was later suspended before eventually being fired,”CBS 46 reported.

In a country where law enforcement agents are given paid vacations for killing unarmed citizens, Capp’s ‘transgressions’ seem tame by comparison, though he is not the first police officer to be punished for attempting to be kind to the people they patrol.

We Finally Arrived! Bernstein Declares ‘Constitutional Crisis’ Is Now

For many months, the liberal media had been warning us President Trump had the country on a crash course with a constitutional crisis because of his anger at the special counsel investigation. Arguably, chief among those doomsday soothsayers was CNN’s Carl Bernstein who has been comparing Trump to Nixon and Watergate since former FBI Director James Comey was fired. But during an appearance on Anderson Cooper 360 Tuesday, Bernstein had an update: “We’re in a constitutional crisis.

To continue his theme of drawing parallels between President Richard Nixon and President Trump, Cooper wanted now how close we were to another Saturday night massacre. “Carl, just in terms of reporting that the President is considering firing Deputy Attorney General Rob Rosenstein, do you feel like we are on the verge of a Saturday night massacre here?

Asking that question was the epitome of beating a dead horse because CNN has been declaring such massacres since Trump fired Comey.

We’re in a constitutional crisis,” Bernstein immediately proclaimed. “The President of the United States has made clear to those around him and those closest to him in the White House and among his friends, that he is determined to shut down the investigation.

After suggesting Trump was only upset by the FBI raids of his personal lawyer because there was harmful evidence against him (and only admitting there could be “exculpatory information” retrieved as an afterthought), Bernstein declared: “We have a president of the United States willing to risk a constitutional crisis for this nation so he can avoid [a] legitimate investigation and letting the facts roll out the way they ought to the end of an investigation.

This is no witch hunt. This about a lawless president of the United States determined to avoid accountability,” he bitterly spat.

The panel discussion took a bit of a humorous turn when Cooper looked to former FBI agent Josh Campbell who pontificated about how the FBI would never stop the investigation no matter what might happen to Special Counsel Mueller.

So you send the FBI agents home, you send the prosecutors back to their districts. The case will still continue cause FBI if they are in possession of information or allegation of a crime, they’re not simply going to stop investigating simply because they don’t have that process in place,” Campbell said.

But Campbell was quickly deflated by legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin. “Wait, wait a second, now I think that is overly optimistic about the work of the FBI. If Robert Mueller is fired and this investigation, you know, technically still exists but no one in charge of it: Donald Trump wins,” Toobin huffed.

All of this was not news. It was speculation and opinion passed off as fact. It’s perfectly obvious just by looking at how Bernstein talked, which was mostly declarations. It was hyperbolic fear mongering deserving of mockery.

ANDERSON COOPER: I mean, Carl, just in terms of reporting that the President is considering firing Deputy Attorney General Rob Rosenstein, do you feel like we are on the verge of a Saturday night massacre here? What would be the point of firing Rosenstein if it’s not in order to have some sort of impact on Mueller and the investigation?

CARL BERNSTEIN: We’re in a constitutional crisis. The President of the United States has made clear to those around him and those closest to him in the White House and among his friends, that he is determined to shut down the investigation. And the moment he has chosen to actually act on it apparently is when the special prosecutors and other prosecutors have gotten hold of his lawyer’s computers. Which have perhaps evidence of real conspiracy between the President of the United States and others. Or there could be exculpatory information there.

If, as the president maintains and a few even around him believe, that there is no there there and this is really a witch hunt. We have a president of the United States willing to risk a constitutional crisis for this nation so he can avoid [a] legitimate investigation and letting the facts roll out the way they ought to the end of an investigation. And if it’s a witch hunt, there is plenty of time at the end and there would be hell to pay if Mr. Mueller or anybody else, Rosenstein, were conducting a witch hunt. This is no witch hunt this about a lawless president of the United States determined to avoid accountability.

COOPER: Josh, would firing Rosenstein necessarily get what the President likely wants, which is the ability to contain the special counsel investigation?

JOSH CAMPBELL: Well, two prongs here. The first is he can set additional parameters. Let’s take the example of firing Rosenstein. They put in someone who is actually going to do the President’s bidding and further narrow the scope of what Rob Mueller can do. That’s one option. If they dissolve the special counsel completely, that make the investigation go away. So you send the FBI agents home, you send the prosecutors back to their districts. The case will still continue cause FBI if they are in possession of information or allegation of a crime, they’re not simply going to stop investigating simply because they don’t have that process in place.

JEFFREY TOOBIN: Wait, wait a second, now I think that is overly optimistic–

TOOBIN: –about the work of the FBI. If Robert Mueller is fired and this investigation, you know, technically still exists but no one in charge of it: Donald Trump wins.

Aryan migration theory finally proven by genetics

The study says some sort of migration did indeed take place into India and that the Indus Valley civilisation is key to all South Asian populations.

A new paper authored by 92 scientists from around the globe that was posted online this weekend could settle some major questions about the subcontinent’s history and what that means for various theories of Indian civilisation. The paper, titled “The Genomic Formation of South and Central Asia” which still has to go through peer review, uses genetics to examine the ancestry of ancient inhabitants of the subcontinent. Below is a quick summary of what you need to know.

Who authored the study?

There are 92 named authors on the study including scholars from Harvard, MIT, the Russian Academy of Science, the Birbal Sahni Institute of Paleosciences in Lucknow, the Deccan College, the Max Planck Institute, the Institute for Archaeological Research in Uzbekistan and the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad. Among the co-directors of the study is geneticist David Reich, whose new book has inspired much recent discussion about ancient human history and racial theory.

How was the study conducted?

The researchers looked at genome-wide data from 612 ancient individuals, meaning DNA samples of people that lived millennia ago. These included samples from eastern Iran, an area called Turan that now covers Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and South Asia. Of the 612, the DNA of 362 ancient individuals was being examined for the first time. They then compared this data with that taken from present-day individuals, including 246 distinct groups in South Asia.

What were they looking for?

A lack of sufficient ancient DNA as well as proper inquiry into the matter has meant that we still do not understand how Central and South Asian populations were formed. There have been various theories about this, with some very closely connected to politics both in South Asia and abroad. The Nazis, for example, helped propagate the Aryan Invasion Theory in which blue-eyed fair people swept into the Indian subcontinent on horses, conquering everyone they saw along the way. Hindutva proponents have argued the opposite altogether, what is known as the Out-of-India theory, claiming that, if anything, Indo-European languages originated in India and spread out westward from there.

DNA and other human science based research has thrown up confusing signals in the past, with mitochondrial DNA, which is only transferred by females being mostly unique to the subcontinent. This suggested that the inhabitants of India have been indigenous for thousands of years. However, Y chromosomes, which are passed from male to male, showed much more connection to West Eurasians, whether Europeans, people of the Irani plateau or Central Asians.

Amid all this, there is the question of whom the Indus Valley people were. Were they more connected to those we now know as Dravidians, only to be pushed south by migrating Aryans? Or were they themselves Aryans, who eventually moved southward?

In many ways, the study set out to resolve this contradiction and answer some part of the question: Who are the people of the subcontinent and how did they get there?

What did they find?

The paper, which you can read in full here, builds on the genetic understanding that there were two separate groups in ancient India: Ancestral North Indians and Ancestral South Indians, or ANI and ASI. These two groups were, as Reich explains in his new book, “as different from each other as Europeans and East Asians are today.” But where do these two populations, which solidify in around 2000 BCE, come from?

There are three potential groupings that, when mixed in various combinations, could be responsible for the creation of the Ancestral North Indian and Ancestral South Indian Populations.

The first are South Asian hunter-gatherers, described in this study as Ancient Ancestral South Indians or AASI, the oldest people of the subcontinent, related to modern-day Andaman islanders.
Then there are Iranian agriculturists, who were known to have come to the subcontinent, possibly bringing certain forms of cultivation of wheat and barley with them.
And finally, there are the Steppe pastoralists, the inhabitants of the vast Central Asian grasslands to the north of Afghanistan, who were previously known as ‘Aryans.’

There is another, important population with South Asian connections that sits somewhere amidst these three: the Indus Valley population.

In Turan, the area north of modern-day Iran also known as the Bactria-Margiana Archaeological Complex, there was a huge community of ancient people who seem to have little genetic connection with the inhabitants of the subcontinent. Yet the authors found three individuals from this ancient complex that did have some connection to India, specifically an ancestry mix of Iranian agriculturists and South Asian hunter-gatherers or Ancient Ancestral South Indians. This matched individuals from the Swat Valley in Pakistan, another Indus Valley site. Because the researchers didn’t have direct access to ancient DNA from India’s Indus Valley sites, the paper prefers to call them Indus Valley periphery individuals. These three individuals are key to the findings.

Where does the Indus Valley fit in?

The reason the researchers call them Indus Valley periphery individuals is because they cannot be sure that their genetic makeup is the same as most of those who lived in the Indus Valley, because they did not have access to ancient DNA from Indian sites. But for the most part they seem to use these individuals as proxies for the people of that civilisation.

The make-up of Indus Valley periphery individuals is straightforward: a mixture of Iranian agriculturists and the South Asian hunter-gatherers, or Ancient Ancestral South Indians.

The study finds that these two ancestries are also there in both of the subsequent populations, of Ancestral North Indians and Ancestral South Indians, except for a couple of key differences.

First Ancestral South Indians have the same basic mix: South Asian hunter-gatherers and Iranian agriculturists, with a higher amount of the former.
And second, importantly, Ancestral North Indians have one more ancestry mixed in that is not to be found in Ancestral South Indians: the Steppe pastoralists or, to use the old term, Aryans.

What does the paper conclude?

In simple terms, the mixing of Iranian agriculturists and South Asian hunter-gatherers first created the Indus Valley population.
Then around the 2nd millennium BCE, Steppe pastoralists moved south towards the subcontinent encountering the Indus Valley population in a manner that was likely to have caused some amount of upheaval.
What appears to happen afterwards is that some of the Indus Valley population moves further south, mixing more with South Asian hunter-gatherers to create the Ancestral South Indian population
Meanwhile, in the north, the Steppe pastoralists are mixing with the Indus Valley population to create the Ancestral North Indian grouping.
Most subsequent South Asian populations are then a result of further mixing between Ancestral North Indians and Ancestral South Indians.

This also means that the people of the Indus Valley Civilisation are the bridge to most extant Indian populations. “By co-analyzing ancient DNA and genomic data from diverse present-day South Asians, we show that Indus Periphery related people are the single most important source of ancestry in South Asia.”

What does all this mean?

Many things that would be hard to summarise. Journalist Tony Joseph, explains a number of implications in this piece, but here are a few main ones:

  • Some form of “Aryan” migration did take place, even if that term is not used. The introduction of Steppe pastoralists into the subcontinent might have been the way what we know as Indo-European language and culture spread, since it was the same lot of Steppe peoples that also moved West into Europe.
  • Moreover, there may be connection between the Steppe migration and priestly caste and culture. The researchers say they found 10 out of 140 Indian groups with a higher amount of Steppe ancestry compared to Indus Valley ancestry. These two were titled “Brahmin_Tiwari” and “Brahmin_UP”. More generally groups of priestly status seem to have higher Steppe ancestry, suggesting those with this mixture may have had a central role in spreading Vedic culture.
  • The Out of India theory is now even more unlikely, at least at the genetic level. The researchers say early Iranian agriculturists did not have any significant mixture of South Asian hunter-gatherer ancestry, “and thus the patterns we observe are driven by gene flow into South Asia and not the reverse”.
  • That said, there is some evidence of movement of the Indus Valley people out towards the Turan area, based on data from the Bactria-Margiana Archaeological Complex. Ancestries of people there suggest some very small amount of South Asian hunter-gatherer mixture, and the presence of the three outlier individuals is believed to possibly be proof of Indus Valley inhabitants migrating to Turan.
  • The Indus Valley Civilisation ancient DNA data from the Haryana site of Rakhigarhi, which was supposed to be released last month, should add to this picture of the ancestry of South Asian populations.

The False Flag Attack in Syria Finally Arrives

The much anticipated false flag chemical weapons attack has finally arrived in Douma, the last terrorist holdout of East Ghouta. The Syrian and Russian governments have been warning for weeks of preparation for an attack using chemical weapons which would be pinned on the government of Bashar Al-Assad.

Reports in the BBC and Reuters made claims of anywhere from 35 to 150 people killed in an alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma, sighting the reports of activists and medics. Predictably, those sources are the same terrorist aligned ones which have made repeated allegations of chemical weapons attacks, barrel bombs and the deliberate targeting of schools and hospitals. The medics referred to are the exclusively terrorist embedded White Helmets, who tweeted 150 people had died before deleting the tweet. They posted online video of a basement in a house with dead men, women, and children who appear to have suffocated. As we know a video of suffering doesn’t tell us how people died and it certainly doesn’t tell us who did it. With their previous record of participating in atrocities suspicion naturally falls on the White Helmets version of the event.

The Ghouta Media Centre weighed in with allegations of an attack, but added that they believed a nerve agent was also used. This fits too neatly following the Skripal poisoning crisis and it defies logic that Bashar Al-Assad would suddenly decide to introduce nerve agents at a time of world attention and outrage and when he is on the cusp of finally liberating East Ghouta of its Saudi/US/UK backed terrorists.

Backing up the nerve agent allegations was the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS). Reuters reported:

Medical relief organization SAMS said a chlorine bomb hit Douma hospital, killing six people, and a second attack with “mixed agents” including nerve agents had hit a nearby building.

Basel Termanini, the U.S.-based vice president of SAMS, told Reuters another 35 people had been killed at the nearby apartment building, most of them women and children.

It went on to quote Termanini saying, “We are contacting the U.N. and the U.S. government and the European governments.” It is not difficult to figure out this will involve advocating more sanctions designed to cripple Syria, but more dangerously urging direct attacks on Syrian forces. Russia has already warned the US not to strike Damascus, but rabid regime change operatives like SAMS seem blind to the dangers of a wider war, invoking false humanitarianism that risks pushing us to the precipice of World War lll.

The common theme in MI6/CIA loyalist media reporting such as this is that while they often will insert the obligatory the “reports can’t be confirmed” they only ever entertain the possibility that government forces could have carried out chemical weapons attacks. They repeat the familiar pattern of reporting the allegations of terrorists, citing sources which they fail to state are terrorist allies therefore not impartial, include minimal statements of the government denying the attacks, but never state any allegations or evidence pointing towards terrorists carrying out such attacks then framing the government, which is actually what happens.

The discovery near Douma of a chemical laboratory filled with containers of chlorine and equipment designed to produce chemical weapons stalled the planned false flag and showed rock solid evidence of the possession and capacity of terrorists forces to use chemicals which could be weaponized. The discovery should have been a game changer in the broader narrative of who has and is using chemical weapons in Syria, but, true to form, the MI6/CIA loyalist media and leading western governments ignored it. It may as well not have been discovered, with no difference in attitude and coverage that it made.

The rapid advances the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) made into the four enclaves controlled by different terrorist factions may have also unsettled the preparation and execution of a false flag attack, particularly if being coordinated with their Saudi, US, UK and French backers.

Today however the operation appears to have been carried out.

Never fear intrepid warmongers, the news will soon reach the inbox of Nikki Haley, the neocon, Israel worshipper par excellence. Haley has been visceral in her attacks on Syria and recently said Russia can never be a friend of the great Satan, the USA, who will “slap them when we need to.”

The fevered rush to seize the moment to finally go head to head with Russia will only be boosted by the appointment to the post of national security advisor to neocon supremo John Bolton, a war firster who never saw a war he didn’t like and never regretted any of the disastrous wars the US started, not swayed one iota by the resultant rivers of blood. Bolton seems to have a special fetish to launch a “legal preventive” strike on North Korea and fulfil long-held plans to conquer Iran, but may have been gifted an early present following the Skripal poisoning, which will combine with this unfolding chemical weapons accusation to build up an almost irresistible push for full-blown war on Syria.

The jihadist brigade fueled and funded by the western spy networks and gulf state-funded think tanks have hit the ground running. Why wait for evidence when the task of obliterating Syria, leaving jihadists to rise from the ashes and rule is so pressing. All in the name of humanitarian intervention naturally.

Eliot Higgins, better known as the NATO PR proxy Bellingcat, has no time for his alleged painstaking open source investigation. He knows it was a chemical weapons attack, the biggest since Khan Shekhoun and he wants action. He clearly laments the reticence of Fox News to lead the chorus for a full-fledged attack, knowing it is the go-to news source for Donald Trump. It is hard to see why, as it is as fake and war crazy as CNN and MSNBC. Bellingcat will no doubt be as pleased as the NATO proxy terrorists if Trump can beat his record of striking Syria within 72 hours of the Khan Shekhoun incident. Only this time he will urge it be bigger and more prolonged.

“Jihadi Julian” Ropcke is as nasty and vindictive as they come in the CIA/MI6 loyalist media landscape. Journalist ethics and dignity went out the window a long time ago and he is both the type of man to admire and be admired by vicious Wahabbist gangs that have killed across the length and breadth of Syria for more than 7 years. Ropcke will instantly believe and promote any anti-Assad accusation and has pushed the genocide narrative ceaselessly. He not only knows Chlorine and Phosgene were used but knows it was in “doses never seen before.”

Charles Lister, the “Nusra fanboy,” would like us to believe he is a detached and objective professional rigorously analyzing the war on Syria, hence his reference to “medical sources.” The medical sources are, as is always the case the western intelligence propaganda asset the White Helmets and the deeply anti-Syrian Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS). SAMS is revered by the political establishment in Washington, a dead give-away they are a regime change advocate willing to promote sectarian terrorism behind their false humanitarian façade. They, like others in the NGO complex, are pimping for future prestige, power and no doubt cash in a Syria absent the leadership of Bashar Al-Assad.

Lister makes the false distinction between “moderates” and outright terrorists in Syria; even as he has subtly promoted Al-Nusra as an opposition group that has a support base and is attempting to reach out to the civilian populations in areas it is present in. In contrast to whitewashing Islamist extremists, he presents the SAA as incompetent, low in morale and as having carried out regular, systematic executions of the Sunni majority. Incompetence, low morale and savage treatment of the majority Sunni population —the SAA is majority Sunni— would have led to the downfall of the Assad government long ago. The truth is the SAA fought Western, Turkish and Gulf state-backed terrorists for more than 4 years until the invited intervention of Russia and Iran. As for a sectarian President, I don’t think his Sunni wife Asma would agree.

The images have spread across social media of people lying dead in basements and they are shocking. However, while pictures can say more than a thousand words they can also be made to lie and misrepresent. Given the history of terrorist group friendly activists, the White Helmets and the terrorist groups themselves to manipulate images to show what is clearly not true, we have to maintain healthy skepticism and be prepared for a cacophony of calls to mount major attacks on Syria from the MI6/CIA loyalist media and a whole host of imperialist western politicians who will not admit defeat.

As with previous attacks against the SAA, timing and the circumstances on the battlefield at the time are crucial.

Miri Wood on 7 April reported in Syria News:

Saudi run Jaish al Islam faction of al-Qaeda today broke the Douma agreement, unleashing more atrocities against Syrian civilians.” The agreement was that all abducted military personnel and civilians be released, along with the bodies of martyrs, for heavy and medium weapons to be turned over, and for the savages to get on the buses to Jarablus. Begun on 2 April, almost 3,000 terrorists and their families left Douma. Infighting among the remaining savages ensued (some reports claimed the infighting was related to the disbursement $900,000,000 held by the terrorists).  Today, 6 April, Jaish al Islam — more appropriately named Jaish al Wahhab — fired mortars and rockets into several neighborhoods of Damascus.

In late March a deal had been struck for Jaish al-Islam to release 3500 hostages held captive in Douma. That is 3500 innocent civilians criminally held captive in the middle of a war zone, easily able to be used as human shields by terrorists to stop the advances of the Syrian and Russian forces. As to why so many civilians were taken captive and where they were held, Syrian ambassador to the UN, Dr. Bashar Jaafari highlighted the suffering of these people at the hands of Jaysh al-Islam when he addressed the UNSC in February:

These terrorists are taking the civilians as hostages, they have a jail in Douma (Eastern Ghouta’s main city) called the Jail of Toubah, do you know what Toubah means in Arabic? It’s ‘Repentance’, you don’t leave this jail until you repent. They have thousands of innocent people taken prisoners, civilians, and put in this jail in Douma. And from time to time they take women and children, put them in cages and drive them into the streets, I guess you saw that.

The obvious question is how many of the 3500 was released and how many may have been killed in a false flag attack. While the allegations are that up to 100 have died, we have seen a much smaller amount of victims than that in online videos. A closer look at Jaysh al-Islam tells us all we need to know about their willingness to kill as many civilians as necessary to provoke a response from western media and governments.

The group was led by the now dead Zahran Alloush, a hard-line Islamist who wasn’t backward with stating his plans for a new sectarian and vengeful Syria. In an anti-Shia, Alawite and Christian diatribe he said, “The mujahideen of Sham will wash the filth (رجس) of the Rafida and the Rafidia from Sham, they will wash it forever, if Allah wills it, until they cleanse Bilad al-Sham from the filth of the ‘Majous’ who have fought the religion of Allah.”

This savage group only ever referred to as rebels in MI6/CIA loyalist media as “rebels” carried out the Adra massacre in December 2013, brutally killing over 200 people. The terrorists swarmed into the town and spread a clear message of intent, beheading, shooting, burning whole families in their homes and perversely burning people inside ovens.

This was one in a long line of massacres we don’t hear about, as it shows the type of depraved groups waging war on Syria and hugely increases the believability of chemical weapons attacks they have committed. Jaysh al-Islam also took captives from Adra, many of whom were among the 3500 hostages who were supposed to have been released. Some may be the unfortunate victims of a false flag attack designed to draw a powerful military response from the US and its allies.

Let’s not forget that Jaysh Al-Islam was also behind the East Ghouta chemical weapons attack in August 2013, an outrage that came close to resulting in Barack Obama following through on his threat of a military response if the “red line” of chemical weapons was used. It is unacceptable for terrorist groups such as Jaysh Al-Islam to be just kilometers from the capital and bomb it repeatedly. No western country would entertain the thought for a second. The SAA has seen what they are capable of, and as they are on the verge of finally defeating them, they appear to have executed an atrocity in a desperate bid to save themselves. It may not save them, but it may be used by the US as a pretext to launch strikes aimed at stopping the pending liberation of Yarmouk, Daraa and the jewel in the crown of liberating the Golan Heights from years of Israeli occupation.

This all comes not long after Donald Trump said the US would be coming out of Syria, a statement which prompted a backlash in media and military circles, the deep state sending the message to Trump that the president is just a figurehead behind whom men in dark suits make the real decisions.

Trump at a rally in Ohio said:

“We’ll be coming out of Syria, like, very soon. Let the other people take care of it now…. We are going to have 100% of the Caliphate….We spent $7 trillion in the Middle East and you know what we have for it, nothing.”

Trump didn’t say that the US is in the process of building new bases in the Manbij area. The burgeoning number of US bases across Syria is hardly the move of a power ready to leave, but of one consolidating, expanding and in for the long haul. Trump’s remarks sound more like the shoot from the hip style he is known for and shouldn’t be taken seriously. There may, however, be a more sinister side to it.

During the presidential election, Trump even showed some respect for Vladimir Putin, saying he was “knocking the hell out of ISIS.” He professed to end US wars abroad and to make America great again by focusing on the domestic economy.

Just before the Khan Shekhoun incident Nikki Haley and Rex Tillerson said maybe Assad can stay. Afterward we heard implausible claims that this had given Assad a green light to carry out a chemical weapons attack. Then as now he is on the front foot and has absolutely nothing to gain from their use, quite aside from the fact Syria no longer has chemical weapons and wouldn’t use them if they did. Within 72 hours of Khan Shekhoun Trump launched his 57 cruise missiles against the Shayrat airbase.

Are we looking at a repeat of history? Trump makes the surprise announcement of a US withdrawal, absent any definite timeline and clearly without consulting his generals and suddenly we have another alleged chemical weapons attack. But the lesson to be learned won’t be for lying western journalists to listen to and take seriously warnings from Syrian and Russian officials of preparations and plans for terrorists to carry out a chemical weapons attack and frame it on Syria and Russia. No, we can very soon expect to hear that the Trump withdrawal announcement gave huge relief to Assad and he celebrated by dropping chlorine and nerve agents on his own people. A clichéd and predictable, but entirely false narrative with no plausibility whatsoever.

The US State Department is already prepping for a possible US strike, saying that the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government is “not in dispute” and that Russia is ultimately responsible for their use. Coming on the back of the hysteria, increased tensions and large-scale diplomatic expulsions following the yet to be proven claims of the Russian state poisoning Sergey and Yulia Skripal, the rush to war by the out of control Anglo/American imperial alliance may be hard to stop.
