New study: Humans Have Destroyed 83% Of All Wild Animals On Earth

by Jess Murray Truth Theory

Despite the human race accounting for just 0.01% of all living beings on Earth, they have caused the loss of 83% of all wild animals, as well as 50% of all plants, according to a recent assessment of life on the planet.

The new study is the first to estimate the weight of every living creature, concluding that bacteria account for 13% and the huge array of life in the oceans makes up just 1% of all biomass. It also found that plants represent the largest proportion at 82%, whilst all other creatures such as insects, fungi and animals make up just 5%. Professor Ron Milo, from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, who led the work published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, said, “I was shocked to find there wasn’t already a comprehensive, holistic estimate of all the different components of biomass. I would hope this gives people a perspective on the very dominant role that humanity now plays on Earth.”

Due to the vast change on Earth caused by humans, scientists are said to be close to declaring a new geological era – the Anthropocene.

The study also revealed that farmed poultry makes up 70% of all birds, leaving only 30% wild. Further to this, wild animals account for just 4% of mammals whilst livestock makes up 60%, and humans add up to 36%. Milo commented, “It is pretty staggering. In wildlife films, we see flocks of birds, of every kind, in vast amounts, and then when we did the analysis we found there are [far] more domesticated birds.”

The changes on our planet have led scientists to discuss the sixth mass extinction of life to occur in the Earth’s four billion year history, following the huge destruction humans have caused by farming, logging and development. Currently, a huge 50% of animals are thought to have been lost in just 50 years, meaning that just one-sixth of wild mammals currently still remain. Milo stated, “It is definitely striking, our disproportionate place on Earth. When I do a puzzle with my daughters, there is usually an elephant next to a giraffe next to a rhino. But if I was trying to give them a more realistic sense of the world, it would be a cow next to a cow next to a cow and then a chicken.

“Our dietary choices have a vast effect on the habitats of animals, plants and other organisms. I would hope people would take this [work] as part of their world view of how they consume. I have not become vegetarian, but I do take the environmental impact into my decision making, so it helps me think, do I want to choose beef or poultry or use tofu instead?”

Paul Falkowski, from Rutgers University in the US, commented on the study saying, “There are two major takeaways from this paper. First, humans are extremely efficient in exploiting natural resources. Humans have culled, and in some cases eradicated, wild mammals for food or pleasure in virtually all continents. Second, the biomass of terrestrial plants overwhelmingly dominates on a global scale – and most of that biomass is in the form of wood.”

The US Government Just Destroyed Our Privacy While Nobody Was Paying Attention

While the nation remained fixated on gun control and Facebook’s violative practices last week, the U.S. government quietly codified the CLOUD Act, its own intrusive policies on citizens’ data.

While the massive, $1.2 trillion omnibus spending bill passed Friday received widespread media attention, the CLOUD Act — which lawmakers snuck into the end of the 2,300-page bill — was hardly addressed.

The Clarifying Lawful Overseas Use of Data Act (CLOUD) “updates the rules for criminal investigators who want to see emails, documents and other communications stored on the internet,” CNET reported. “Now law enforcement won’t be blocked from accessing someone’s Outlook account, for example, just because Microsoft happens to store the user’s email on servers in Ireland.

The CLOUD Act will also allow the U.S. to enter into agreements that allow the transfer of private data from domestic servers to investigators in other countries on a case-by-case basis, further globalizing the ever-encroaching surveillance state. The Electronic Frontier Foundation, which has strongly opposed the legislation, listed several consequences of the bill, which it called “far-reaching” and “privacy-upending”:

  • Enable foreign police to collect and wiretap people’s communications from U.S. companies, without obtaining a U.S. warrant.
  • Allow foreign nations to demand personal data stored in the United States, without prior review by a judge.
  • Allow the U.S. president to enter “executive agreements” that empower police in foreign nations that have weaker privacy laws than the United States to seize data in the United States while ignoring U.S. privacy laws.
  • Allow foreign police to collect someone’s data without notifying them about it.
  • Empower U.S. police to grab any data, regardless if it’s a U.S. person’s or not, no matter where it is stored.

The bill is an update to the current MLAT (Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty), the current framework for sharing internet user data between countries, which both legislators and tech companies have criticized as inefficient.

Some tech companies, like Microsoft, have endorsed the new CLOUD policy. Brad Smith, the company’s president and chief legal officer, called it  “a strong statute and a good compromise,” that “gives tech companies like Microsoft the ability to stand up for the privacy rights of our customers around the world.”

They echoed the sentiment of lawmakers like Orrin Hatch (R-UT). In February, he said of the bill:

“The CLOUD Act bridges the divide that sometimes exists between law enforcement and the tech sector by giving law enforcement the tools it needs to access data throughout the world while at the same time creating a commonsense framework to encourage international cooperation to resolve conflicts of law.”

But one of the biggest complaints from privacy advocates, however, it that the new legislation places too much unmitigated power in the hands of governments with abysmal human rights records while also giving too much discretion to the U.S. government’s executive branch. Noting that the executive branch will decide which countries are human rights compliant and that those countries will then be able to engage in data collection and wiretaps without any further restrictions or oversight, the ACLU warned:

Flip through Amnesty International or Human Rights Watch’s recent annual reports, and you can find a dizzying array of countries that have ratified major human rights treaties and reflect those obligations in their domestic laws but, in fact, have arrested, tortured and killed people in retaliation for their activism or due to their identity.”

The organization pointed out that no human rights organizations have endorsed the CLOUD Act, adding that “in the case of countries certified by the executive branch, the CLOUD Act would not require the U.S. government to scrutinize data requests by the foreign governments — indeed, the bill would not even require notifying the U.S. government or a user regarding a request.”

Further, the ACLU says, if a foreign government’s human rights record deteriorates, there is no mechanism to revoke its access to data. Considering the U.S.’ existing record on supporting regimes that severely restrict basic rights like freedom of expression, the expanded access the CLOUD Act provides is undoubtedly worrisome.

Also predictable is the government’s stale justification for expanding its power. As the CLOUD Act claims, it is purportedly to “protect public safety and combat serious crime, including terrorism” — even if it further empowers governments that support and commit said terrorism.

In an age where the government already engages in mass surveillance and is eager to disable the people’s efforts to protect their privacy through encryption technology, it is unsurprising, albeit dangerous, that Congress continues to encroach on what little is left of safeguards against unwarranted intrusions.

Tabula Rasa Destroyed, DNA Tests Can Predict Intelligence for the First Time

From The Telegraph, (behind a paywall, for full article see here)

Scientists showed for the first time that a person’s IQ can be predicted just by studying their DNA.

In the largest ever study looking at the genetic basis for intelligence, researchers at the University of Edinburgh and Harvard University discovered hundreds of new genes linked to brain power.

But nobody knew which were the ‘smart genes.’

Now by studying the genetic data from more than 240,000 people, scientists have found 538 genes which are linked to intelligence.

Researchers were even able to predict intelligence just based on a person’s DNA, a breakthrough which could potentially help doctors to diagnose impaired cognitive ability, or allow children to be given an tailor-made education based on their innate abilities.

The ramifications of this study are huge, the mainstream for the first time is forced to admit, unequivocally, that the idea of the “Tabula Rasa” (blank slate) and that “We are one race, the human race” are outdated and now obsolete.

They won’t touch on the racial aspects, of course, because that is still a hot button topic, but it isn’t a huge leap to go from “DNA/genes can predict intelligence” to “non-whites have different cognitive abilities due to their genes”. It will also serve as an exoneration of brave scientists like Dr James Watson who was forced to resign and even sell his Nobel Prize for comments on Africans back in 2007:

“I am inherently gloomy about the prospect of Africa because all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours—whereas all the testing says not really.”

“There is no firm reason to anticipate that the intellectual capacities of peoples geographically separated in their evolution should prove to have evolved identically. Our wanting to reserve equal powers of reason as some universal heritage of humanity will not be enough to make it so”.

The study also found links between longevity and IQ:

The study also showed that the same genes which influence intelligence are also linked to other biological processes such as length of life.

Although it is known that intelligent people live longer it was generally assumed that the link was due to social causes, such as a better education, leading to a more well-paid job, which brings a higher standard of living and a healthier life.

But the new research suggests that intelligent people are biologically fitter.

It seems eugenics wasn’t so wrong after all.

Of course, the insanity of the left knows no bounds and they might seek to spin this as an issue of “genetic privilege”:

We need to race mix with blacks since whites have “privilege” because they evolved in “environments of unearned privilege”. We need to bring ourselves down because there is no way to bring blacks up to our level.

Only then can we atone for colonialism and modern racism!

First Woman to Head the CIA is an Infamous War Criminal Who Destroyed Evidence of US Torture

Gina Haspel, born October 1, 1956 was a deputy CIA director before becoming the most powerful official at America’s main spy agency. She was one of the top intelligence officers to take part in the worst alleged abuses of Bush-era interrogation program, which renowned rights groups bluntly describe as a set of torture techniques.

In the middle of Washington’s ‘Global War on Terrorism,’ Haspel ran one of the first CIA facilities – later called ‘black sites’ – a prison in Thailand code-named ‘Cat’s Eye.’ It has been claimed that Al-Qaeda suspects were tortured there using waterboarding, in particular.

Back then, a Washington Post article mentioned a top-tier CIA official who was “directly involved in its controversial interrogation program” and had an “extensive role” in torturing detainees.

Notably, the Post’s piece did not reveal the person’s identity, only saying that the officer in question served as director of the National Clandestine Service – the CIA’s main branch in charge of human intelligence – on an interim basis. Later, the Intercept confirmed that the undercover officer was actually Haspel.

Rodriguez even mentioned Haspel in his memoir, writing that it was she who “drafted a cable” to discard the gruesome footage, when he “took a deep breath of weary satisfaction and hit ‘send.’”

Haspel’s past has been the subject of a high-profile lawsuit by a European rights group. In 2017, the non-profit European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights asked German federal prosecutors to issue an arrest warrant for Haspel if she arrives in Europe. The request came as part of the case of Abu Zubaydah, a Saudi national citizen and senior Al-Qaeda member.

Attorneys for the rights group alleged that Zubaydah, who played a role in masterminding the 9/11 attacks, was waterboarded 83 times in August 2002 – at which time Haspel was in charge of the ‘Cat’s Eye’ detention facility. Wolfgang Kaleck, the group’s director, said: “Those who commit, order or allow torture should be brought before a court,” adding that this is “especially true for senior officials from powerful nations.”

According to the CIA website, Haspel joined the spy agency in 1985, having garnered “extensive overseas experience.” She also served as station chief in several of her assignments.

Syria Destroyed 2 Waves Of 13 Israeli Cruise Missiles Using Russian Pantsir-S AA guns

Pantsir-S1 Russia, Syria, Israel

Syrian force shot down 13 Israeli air-launched cruise missiles during Feb. Israeli Aggression with Russian Pantsir-S1s

[ Editor’s Note: We finally have some officially reported details of the recent Israeli Airforce attack on Syria. The main disclosure is the Syrian had used the Pantsir-S short range system, specifically designed to take down cruise missiles when closing on their targets.

These systems have a variety of missiles to use depending on the altitude and type of incoming threat, plus a 30mm cannon as a last defense for itself.

Behind the weapons is the high tech radar tracking, also design to defend against swarm missile attacks which is the name of the game in modern warfare. We will be following closely the responses we get on this from various capitals.

The Russians had to be involved, particularly in early warning to the Syrian defense crews. A lot of coordination is needed to make sure the attacking force can be properly analyzed so the appropriate gun positions are assigned specific targets.

Timing is critical as in this case, Syrian fire might have been withheld until the Israeli planes launched their missiles. The Pantsirs (I am assuming more then one system) would have engaged those and then other missiles fired on the retreating Israeli planes.

The speed with which all this has to be done is incredible, and one would have to ask were Russians actually manning the Pantsir systems, as they require very highly trained people.

Israel has countered this news by claiming it took our a large part of Syrian air defenses, but without the usual video camera proof, the only one so far showing a panel truck at the T-4 base being struck.

The other big part of the story is how Israel quickly launched a second attack, designed to have empty Syrian batteries as easy targets, but Syria claims to have shot down most of the second wave, showing that the “Russian advised” air defense system had war-gamed for consecutive attacks like this. We should be hearing more on thisJim W. Dean ]

Israel F-16 Syria

The Syrian military shot down 13 Israeli air-launched cruise missiles additionally to the F-16I multirole fighter, which later crashed in Israel, during the February 10 encounter in Syrian airspace, the Russian newspaper Izvestia reported on February 14 citing a source in the Syrian General Staff. MORE ABOUT THE ENCOUNTER

According to the report, the Syrian military used S-200, Buk and Pantsir-S systems against Israeli aircraft and missiles. During the first strike on Syria, Israeli aircraft reportedly launched 11 air-launched cruise missiles. 8 of them were intercepted. During the second strike, Israeli aircraft launched 7 air-launched cruise missiles. Syrian forces intercepted 5 of them.

The report added that the missiles were the key target of Syrian forces. The only aircraft, which violated Syrian airspace, was also shot down.

It was the aforementioned F-16I. Russian and Syrian sources reached by Izvestia did not deny or confirm reports that the F-16I was targeted with an old-fashioned S-200 missile.

The article also provided additional details about the February 7 incident when Israeli warplanes struck the Damascus countryside. According to the article, Israeli aircraft launched 8 missiles and Syrian forces intercepted 6 of them.

Spiraling landscape artworks are made to be destroyed by nature

The act of making art with natural materials has probably been practiced for millennia, ever since humans started drawing art on cave walls and using stones, sticks and other ephemera to create artworks or structures for play or ritualistic purposes. More recently, the modern land art movement has utilized natural means to create pieces that try to get some kind of environmental message across.

Carrying on that new tradition of merging nature with a deeper message is Yorkshire, England-based artist James Brunt, who creates impressive outdoor installations using rocks, leaves and sticks found on site, arranging them into shapes of spirals and other geometric wonders.

Over the years, Brunt has developed a principled “code of practice” where he tries to not disturb natural sites as much as possible, while constructing his pieces. For example, he does not “take stones away from their habitat,” and tries to put his installations on existing paths, rather than disturbing more pristine areas in nature reserves and public parks. He avoids working in flowing water, as he can “see the impact on displacement in this situation and don’t particularly see the benefit in doing so.” It’s an awareness that is evolving, he explains:

I am very conscious of the environment around me and take into consideration many things when deciding to make a piece of work. This code that I work to now has developed over time as my understanding of my surroundings grows. It wasn’t always the case, but it is now.

It’s clear that he puts a lot of energy and careful consideration into each of his pieces, as they manifest themselves on the forest floor or on the sand.

Even though many of his works last only a few hours before they are blown away by the wind or dismantled by the tide, they burst with an evanescent energy that is palpable.

Ron Paul Just Destroyed Trump’s Hypocritical Speech in an EPIC Tweet Storm

paulpaul

Champion of freedom and liberty, Dr. Ron Paul, decided to grade President Donald Trump’s speech last night, in real time. The final result of his series of tweets is nothing short of incredible and highlights how blinded some have become to the grandiose persona of The Donald — ignoring all his broken promises and audaciously excusing his championing of the police and warfare states.

When I saw the following tweet in my Twitter feed last night, I got giddy like a kid on Christmas as I know that Ron Paul is the one person who refuses to compromise on principle and is unafraid of backlash for calling out the hypocrisy and warmongering of the establishment — including Trump.

While applause rang out during the speech, those of us who are able to see through the lies saw the dog and pony show for what it is—a glorification of war and the fleecing of American people.

Opening up his speech Trump appealed to bipartisanship which was an unusual move given his constant divisive rhetoric. But Ron Paul saw right through it as the issues Republicans and Democrats agree on are the things that hurt Americans the most like foreign policy, the Federal Reserve, insane military budgets, and war.

As Trump moved on—briefly—to health care, he hypocritically claimed that Americans with “terminal conditions should have access to experimental treatments that could potentially save their lives.”

However, Trump remains entirely silent as his Attorney General wages war on a plant that has been proven to save lives—marijuana.

Later on in his speech, Trump declared that it is the federal government’s job to keep Americans safe—completely ignoring the fact that safety is mentioned nowhere in the Constitution.

“My duty, and the sacred duty of every elected official in this chamber, is to defend Americans — to protect their safety, their families, their communities, and their right to the American Dream. Because Americans are dreamers too,” said Trump, to which Paul retorted.

Indeed, “liberty” is a forgotten word and it was only mentioned once during Trump’s entire speech and only in regards to “religious liberty.”

Also, the word “freedom” was only mentioned six times and it was purely symbolic, referring to foreign countries and statues in Washington.

The word “drug” was mentioned far more times than freedom and unfortunately, it was in regard to Trump expanding the war on drugs. Sadly, he has changed his stance since running for president and an increase in the war on drugs will only serve to create more crime, fuel more gangs, and cause more overdoses.

Ron Paul understands this fact.

Another word mentioned more than liberty was the word “power,” of which Trump declared he needed more.

“Unmatched power is the surest means of our defense,” declared Trump. Again, Paul stated the obvious.

Part of the power that Trump wanted to increase was America’s already insanely large nuclear arsenal. Currently, the United States has enough nuclear weapons to lay waste to every major city on the planet—but to Trump—that’s not enough.

“As part of our defense, we must modernize and rebuild our nuclear arsenal, hopefully never having to use it, but making it so strong and powerful that it will deter any acts of aggression,” Trump noted.

After declaring he wanted a more nuclear power, Trump declared he wanted more power to detain terrorists and essentially declared endless war by doing away with “artificial timelines.”

“I am also asking the Congress to ensure that, in the fight against ISIS and al-Qa’ida, we continue to have all necessary power to detain terrorists — wherever we chase them down. Our warriors in Afghanistan also have new rules of engagement. Along with their heroic Afghan partners, our military is no longer undermined by artificial timelines, and we no longer tell our enemies our plans,” said Trump.

Sadly, it is that policy which has fostered terrorism and perpetuated conflict over the past two decades and the military industrial complex knows this.

After declaring endless war and demanding to have the most nuclear weapons, Trump ensured the military-industrial complex that their cold war is here and here to stay by fear-mongering over Iran and North Korea.

As Ron Paul noted, the “Cold War is alive and well! Military-industrial complex and Deep State still in charge.”

Wrapping up his Tweet storm on the state of the union, Paul called out the hypocrisy of the federal government and their failure to defend our freedoms against the domestic threats.

The state of the union was little more than a celebration of the military-industrial complex and the police state—just like every other state of the union—and, as the endless applause illustrated, our fearless rulers in DC couldn’t be more happy about it.
