Donna Brazile criticizes Barack Obama's 'titanic ego' in her new book

Former interim DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile said the Democratic party was “leeched of its vitality” by former President Barack Obama and others in the months leading up to the 2016 presidential campaign.

“We had three Democratic parties: The party of Barack Obama, the party of Hillary Clinton, and this weak little vestige of a party led by [Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz] that was doing a very poor job getting people who were not president elected,” Brazile wrote in her newly released 2016 campaign tell-all, titled  “Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House.”

Brazile accused the 44th president of caring “deeply about his image” and using the committee to act as a bank for his personal “political expenses.”

Obama “used the party to provide for political expenses like gifts to donors, and political travel,” Brazile wrote, adding that the politician also used DNC funds for “his pollster and focus groups” later into his second term although he couldn’t run for president again.

“This was not working to strengthen the party. He left it in debt. Hillary bailed it out so that she could control it, and Debbie went along with all of this because she liked the power and perks of being a chair but not the responsibilities,” Brazile wrote.

She added that although she believed Obama, Clinton and Schultz loved the Democratic Party dearly, they “leeched it of its vitality and were continuing to do so.”

“I knew that these three did not do this with malice. I knew if you woke any of them up in the middle of the night to ask them how they felt about the Democratic Party they would answer with sincerity that they loved this party and all it had done for the country and for them. Yet they had leeched it of its vitality and were continuing to do so,” Brazile wrote.

Brazile, who assumed the DNC role in the interim following Schultz’s resignation in 2016 after a trove of leaked emails showed the committee conspired to sabotage Senator Bernie Sanders’s campaign, has been facing heat for speaking critically against members in her own party in recent months.

“As I saw it, these three titanic egos–Barack, Hillary, and Debbie–had stripped the party to a shell for their own purposes,” Brazile wrote.

Fake News Proliferator NYT Criticizes RT and Sputnik News

Fake News Proliferator NYT Criticizes RT and Sputnik News

by Stephen Lendman ( – Home – Stephen Lendman)

The deplorable NYT features daily disinformation, Big Lies and fake news, instead of the real thing.

RT and Sputnik News are polar opposite, journalism the way it’s supposed to be – why their operations are criticized. Truth-telling they feature exposes US propaganda, the deplorable NYT America’s leading print proliferator.

In a lengthy piece, The Times cited a declassified CIA, FBI, NSA report titled “Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections.”

America’s intelligence community, most everyone else in Washington, and US media scoundrels know no Russian meddling in America’s electoral process occurred.

Claims otherwise are disgraceful fabrications. The Times quoted Obama Pentagon intelligence official Michael Vickers, calling nonexistent Russian meddling “the political equivalent of 9/11.”

You have to be dimwitted to believe it. The intelligence community report maliciously lied claiming:

“Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election.”

“Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton and harm her electability and potential presidency. Putin and the Russian government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump.”

Fact: All of the above is pure rubbish. The Times presented it as gospel, functioning as a Pentagon, intelligence community  press agent, abandoning its journalistic responsibility.

The intelligence community report bashed RT unjustifiably, falsely claiming it works with “covert (Russian) intelligence operations (to) undermine the US-led liberal democratic order.”

Fact: RT and Sputnik News provide real news, information and analysis – polar opposite rubbish US media scoundrels feature, notably The Times, CIA-connected Washington Post and deplorable television fare pretending to be legitimate.

Fact: No “US-led liberal democratic order” exists. The growing popularity of RT and Sputnik News worries US media giants, losing audience to more credible alternatives.

RT and Sputnik aren’t “information weapons,” as The Times claims. They’re legitimate sources of real news – polar opposite how deplorable Western media operate.

NY Times Editor Criticizes Women's March's 'Embrace of Hate' in Op-Ed

When Progressives Embrace Hate

… The image of this fearsome foursome, echoed in more than a few flattering profiles, was as seductive as a Benetton ad. There was Tamika Mallory, a young black activist who was crowned the “Sojourner Truth of our time” by Jet magazine and “a leader of tomorrow” by Valerie Jarrett. Carmen Perez, a Mexican-American and a veteran political organizer, was named one of Fortune’s Top 50 World Leaders. Linda Sarsour, a hijab-wearing Palestinian-American and the former head of the Arab-American Association of New York, had been recognized as a “champion of change” by the Obama White House. And Bob Bland, the fashion designer behind the “Nasty Women” T-shirts, was the white mother who came up with the idea of the march in the first place.

What wasn’t to like?

A lot, as it turns out. The leaders of the Women’s March, arguably the most prominent feminists in the country, have some chilling ideas and associations. Far from erecting the big tent so many had hoped for, the movement they lead has embraced decidedly illiberal causes and cultivated a radical tenor that seems determined to alienate all but the most woke.

Start with Ms. Sarsour

There are comments on her Twitter feed of the anti-Zionist sort: “Nothing is creepier than Zionism,” she wrote in 2012. And, oddly, given her status as a major feminist organizer, there are more than a few that seem to make common cause with anti-feminists … She has dismissed the anti-Islamist feminist Ayaan Hirsi Ali in the most crude and cruel terms, insisting she is “not a real woman” and confessing that she wishes she could take away Ms. Ali’s vagina — this about a woman who suffered genital mutilation as a girl in Somalia.

… just last month, Ms. Sarsour proved that her past is prologue. On July 16, the official Twitter feed of the Women’s March offered warm wishes to Assata Shakur. “Happy birthday to the revolutionary #AssataShakur!” read the tweet, which featured a “#SignOfResistance, in Assata’s honor” — a pink and purple Pop Art-style portrait of Ms. Shakur, better known as Joanne Chesimard, a convicted killer who is on the F.B.I.’s list of most wanted terrorists.

Ms. Mallory, in addition to applauding Assata Shakur as a feminist emblem, also admires Fidel Castro, who sheltered Ms. Shakur in Cuba. She put up a flurry of posts when Mr. Castro died last year. “R.I.P. Comandante! Your legacy lives on!” she wrote in one. She does not have similar respect for American police officers. “When you throw a brick in a pile of hogs, the one that hollers is the one you hit,” she posted on Nov. 20.

Ms. Perez also expressed her admiration for a Black Panther convicted of trying to kill six police officers: “Love learning from and sharing space with Baba Sekou Odinga.”

But the public figure both women regularly fawn over is Louis Farrakhan.

… (Farrakhan’s) views, which this editorial page has called “twisted,” remain as appalling as ever.

US senator criticizes Pruitt in Oklahoma ethics probe

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A Democratic member of the U.S. Senate committee that conducted confirmation hearings for Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt said in a letter Tuesday that Oklahoma’s former attorney general presented “inconsistent and contradictory statements” to the panel.

Pruitt’s “misleading answers, evasiveness, and stonewalling” had stymied the committee’s ability to provide oversight of the agency, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island wrote in a letter containing information about an ethics complaint against Pruitt being investigated by the Oklahoma Bar Association.

“This conduct is unbecoming of an attorney who is also a public official and who, under law, is required to testify truthfully to Congress,” Whitehouse said.

The complaint was filed against Pruitt in March by the Center for Biological Diversity, a nonprofit organization that works to protect endangered species, and associate professor Kristen van de Biezenbos of the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Whitehouse is listed as a witness on the complaint.

The complaint says Pruitt may have violated the Oklahoma Rules of Professional Conduct when he told the Senate committee in January that he only used his attorney general’s email address to conduct official business.

But documents released by the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office through an Open Records Act lawsuit in Oklahoma indicate Pruitt also used a personal email address to conduct official business, seeming to contradict Pruitt’s sworn testimony, according to the complaint.

Personal emails and other documents indicate Pruitt coordinated closely with fossil-fuel companies and special interest groups who worked to undermine federal efforts to curb planet-warming carbon emissions while serving as the state’s attorney general.

Democrats on the Senate panel have criticized Pruitt’s close ties to the oil and gas industry. As Oklahoma’s attorney general, Pruitt frequently sued the agency he now leads, including filing a multistate lawsuit against the EPA opposing the Obama administration’s plan to limit carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants.

In April, Whitehouse accused Pruitt of violating federal law by agreeing to be the keynote speaker at the Oklahoma Republican Party’s annual gala dinner. Whitehouse filed an ethics complaint claiming that would violate the Hatch Act, which limits the political activities of executive branch employees.

“You do not want to miss Pruitt at this year’s OKGOP Gala, as he discusses his plans to slash regulations, bring back jobs to Oklahoma, and decrease the size of EPA!” said a flyer for the event sent out by the state party. Pruitt later withdrew from the event.

Gina Hendryx, the bar association’s general counsel, didn’t immediately return a telephone call from The Associated Press seeking comment.

Assange criticizes ‘doomed’ Democratic party for stirring Russia-Trump ‘hysteria’

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange says the Democratic party is “doomed,” while warning its Trump-Russia collusion narrative is a “political dead end” that is consuming all its energy.

Assange took to Twitter on Sunday to list six reasons he believes the party is sabotaging itself.

“The Democratic establishment has vortexed the party’s narrative energy into hysteria about Russia,” he wrote, calling the rhetoric a “political dead end.”

“Despite vast resources, enormous incentives and a year of investigation, Democratic senators who have seen the classified intelligence at the CIA such as Senator Feinstein (as recently as March) are forced to admit that there is no evidence of collusion,” he wrote.

The WikiLeaks founder went on to address other issues he believes are leading to the party’s demise, including the collapse of the Democratic vote over the past eight years, which he says has occurred at all levels – city, state, congressional, and presidential.

“This short-term tactic has led to the inevitable strategic catastrophe of the white and male super majorities responding by seeing themselves as an unserviced political identity group,” he wrote, noting that Trump received the votes of 63 percent of white men and 53 percent of white women.

Assange also listed the many shortcomings of the Trump administration, including “broken promises, inequality, economy, healthcare, militarization,” saying the Democrat party can’t really address those issues, either, because “all its energy and it is entangled with many of the same groups behind Trump’s policies.”

The 45-year-old went on to say that the Democratic party has integrated itself with the “security sector and media barons,” which leads to the perception that Democrats “act on behalf of an entrenched power elite.”

“The Democratic base should move to start a new party since the party elite shows no signs that they will give up power,” he wrote.

Assange tweeted the six points from the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where he has been holed up for the past five years.

Although Sweden dropped an investigation into Assange’s sexual assault allegations last month, he has remained in the embassy to avoid being extradited to the United States. WikiLeaks published 391,832 classified documents relating to the war in Iraq in 2010, the biggest leak of its kind in military history.
