Study: Network Coverage of Trump Gossip Book Beats Out Iranian Uprising

Thursday marked one week since the small protests in Mashhad, Iran that sparked the ongoing, country-wide uprising that’s left the tyrannical regime in a panic. Thursday also marked the second day since numerous salacious passages from journalist Michael Wolff’s gossip-laden book about Trump’s White House were released to the press. Despite the growth and length of the Iran protests, the three major network news outlets (ABC, CBS, and NBC) found more interest in Wolff’s palace intrigue that the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom.

In the one week since the start of the Iranian protests, the network evening news coverage totaled 15 minutes and 49 seconds between the three of them. And half of the time (December 28-29 and January 3-4) they didn’t report or update the story at all. The totals for both events included just the air-time of reports and excluded their teasers.

In sharp contrast, they spent a combined total of 19 minutes and 32 seconds, over just two days, glorifying Wolff’s book and hyping the excerpts concerning former strategist Steve Bannon, who they touted for turning on the President.

Reviewing their day-to-day coverage of the of each event, it exposes their disinterest in wanting to report on the uprising. The first two days of the protests saw no coverage from the networks whatsoever, but come the evening of day three: CBS ignored, ABC downplayed it with 21 seconds, and NBC did a full report.

<<< Please support MRC’s NewsBusters team with a tax-deductible contribution today. >>>

The Sunday after the world learned that two people were killed protesting, ABC ignored it and NBC did a full report, but CBS didn’t have an evening program due to football. Between Monday and Tuesday, CBS was the only network to give the protests over two minutes of air-time (Tuesday).

But during those reports, they bemoaned President Trump for coming out in support of the Iranian people and wanted him to shut up. ABC/NBC actually downplayed the size of the protests, using Iranian state media reports purporting the crowds only totaled at 15,000. And CBS also cited state media reports to cast doubt on claims the government was killing protestors as the death count climbed to over 20.

Come Wednesday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard had declared that the protests were over and that they had everything under control. That was also the same day that the first passages from Wolff’s book made their way to media outlets. And thus the coverage of the Iranian protests ceased as the networks spent a total of 11 minutes and 13 seconds on the book/Bannon the first day. The nets did a complete 180 on Bannon; Going from insinuating he was a white supremacist to glorifying his anti-Trump dirt.

By the one-week anniversary of the protests, there was not a single second of coverage while Bannon and the book gained an additional eight minutes and 19 seconds. With the release date of Wolff’s book moved up to Friday to combat a cease and desist letter from Trump lawyers, it’s all but certain that the book will dominate the rest of the week.

Naked African immigrant attacks and savagely beats German elderly woman in broad daylight

Home » Crimes, Eurabia, Europe, Multiculturalism, Videos » Naked African immigrant attacks and savagely beats German elderly woman in broad daylight

A young black man of African origin was filmed violently attacking an elderly woman on the street of the German city of Nurnberg. The suspect was sent for psychiatric examination; his motive remains unclear.

The footage shows the man wearing only a pair of shorts walking causally along the street. As an elderly woman passes by he suddenly strikes her such a violent blow that he knocks her to the ground. The video also shows that there was no argument or any other form of interaction between the two before the attack.

A video of the incident was first obtained by a local media outlet and then published on YouTube by an activist group. The German police confirmed that the incident had been filmed and posted on social media.

The woman was taken to hospital, and it was found that she had sustained life-threatening injuries, including several bone fractures. According to a police statement, the man attacked the woman and repeatedly hit her in the head after knocking her down. Her life is still in danger, according to police, who added that the suspect had been sent for psychiatric evaluation in a “specialized clinic.”

Witnesses to the incident were quick to intervene. They stopped the attacker from further beating the victim, and held him until the police arrived. According to a police statement, the man surrendered without any resistance.

The suspect was not previously known to the authorities, the statement said. Later, the police said that he was a “man from Africa,” 23 years old.

Police also opened an attempted murder investigation. However, the causes of the incident remain unknown. Police found no evidence that the attacker and his victim knew each other, as reported by the dpa news agency.

Netanyahu is calling shots as US beats drums of war vs Iran: CIA veteran

The US envoy to the UN, Nikki Haley, was dancing to Israel’s tune by calling for a Western coalition against Iran while posing in front of the wreckage of a missile, former CIA officer Ray McGovern told RT, saying the spectacle was aimed at distracting attention from Yemen.

“I think that Netanyahu is calling the shots. Look, Jerusalem has just been recognized as the capital of Israel, Nikki Haley is getting on this bandwagon. She sees this as being very propitious for her, politically,” McGovern said.

Describing Haley as “frightfully ambitious,” McGovern argued that if US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had given her some guidance on the issue, he has not been very effective, as the US ambassador to the UN seems to be “following the kind of talking points that are originating not only in Washington, or in New York, but in Tel Aviv.”

The supposed proof provided by Haley of Iran’s alleged violation of the UN resolutions pales when compared to the scope of violations committed by US-backed Saudi Arabia, Iran’s archrival, McGovern said.

“It’s giving hypocrisy a bad name, when you look at the situation in Yemen, where the US supported Saudi attacks that indiscriminately killed so many civilians as opposed to this one rocket that was sent by the Houthis into Saudi Arabia to land whatever it might,” McGovern said.

“This is the time to beat the drums against Iran and the best thing they could find are some missile parts,” McGovern said, adding that while the missile might indeed have originated in Iran, it was used by Haley “to deflect a conversation from the fact that a million people in Yemen now have cholera, 70 percent of the Yemenis now depend on outside food to survive.”

The rocket might have been supplied to the Houthis “years ago,” he said, and the fact that it landed near a Riyadh airport on November 4 was a mere “piece of luck” for the rebels.

McGovern added that by focusing on Iran, Washington is trying to heal the wounds from its defeat in Syria, where it was effectively excluded from the settlement process, led by Russia, Iran and Turkey.

“Nikki Haley and Washington seem to be in an unreal world, largely because they have just lost big time. Syria – they lost. They lost to the Russians and the Syrians, and the Iranians, and Hezbollah. Now, what’s the proper reaction to that – the proper reaction would be too come back and reassess where we are,” McGovern suggested, but instead what he calls an “unholy alliance” of the US, Saudi Arabia and Israel “are out to put all kinds of pressure to Iran.”

While Haley said that the segments of a rocket she presented at a press conference on Thursday were “undeniable” evidence of Iran’s funneling weapons to Houthi rebels in violation of the UN-imposed embargo, the UN itself has so far been unable to confirm the link between Iran and the missiles.

The UN experts who traveled to Saudi Arabia to examine the wreckage of two rockets fired on July 22 and November 4 found that they had a “common origin” as they were both “consistent” with the diameter of Scud missiles, a variation of which is Qiam-1, made and designed in Iran, UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres said in a confidential report to the UN Security Council last week, seen by AFP and Reuters. Three components of the November 4 missile “bore the castings of a logo similar to that of the Shahid Bagheri Industrial Group,” he said. He then warned against jumping to conclusions, noting that the UN experts are still “carefully reviewing” the evidence.

Another confidential report presented to the UNSC by a group of independent experts monitoring the situation in Yemen last month argued that while the remains of four missiles that landed in Saudi Arabia appeared to show they had been made in Iran, it “as yet has no evidence of the broker or supplier.”

Iran itself has dismissed the allegations against it as “baseless and unfounded.”

WATCH: Cop Snaps in a Fit of Road Rage, Drags Man from Car, Beats Him to a Pulp for No Reason

dashcamdashcam

St. Paul, MN — Dashcam video of a senselessly violent assault by a cop on a then 21-year-old Laotian American was released earlier this year and quickly became the subject of an ACLU report and subsequent lawsuit. The video shows Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force Agent Joe Joswiak stop Anthony Promvongsa in Worthington, Minnesota and immediately begin a violent attack.

This week, the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota filed an excessive force lawsuit against the Worthington Police Department, the Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force and the City of Worthington along with a number of individual officers on behalf of their client, Anthony Promvongsa a local Worthington resident. Promvongsa was assaulted by Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force Officer Joe Joswiak in Worthington in 2016.

The beating was captured on another officer’s dashcam who is caught disabling the audio to cover up Joswiak’s insanely violent fury.

According to police, Promvongsa was driving erratically for several city blocks sticking his head out of the window and yelling at Joswiak. Joswiak claims Promvongsa was swerving toward him repeatedly while making threatening remarks and unidentified hand signals.

None of this was captured on any of the dashcam footage involved in this case.

Joswiak claims he turned on his lights to make the stop and that Promvongsa refused to stop. However, from the dashcam, the young man appears to be driving quite safely and pulls over when he sees the actual patrol car with his lights on.

“Get the fuck out of the car, motherfucker. Show me your hands,” Joswiak screams as he immediately begins assaulting Promvongsa before he could even take off his seat belt. As he lays into the young man with knees, fists, and elbows — as if he’s in some UFC fight — the officer on the other side of the car is seen inexplicably turning off the audio recording.

Now, this entire incident is a case of the cop’s word against a 21-year-old who was beaten nearly to death on film.

One of the parties involved in this case is lying. However, only one of the parties, in this case, was captured on video violently attacking a barefoot young man half his size while another officer attempted to cover it up.

“I was left with physical injuries. The police ended up charging me with multiple offenses all because they thought I was tailgating them, and so I’ve been dealing with probation and fees. I lost my job. I’m scared to leave the house alone. Worthington has been my home since I was a child, but I don’t feel safe here anymore,” Promvongsa told the ACLU.

As the ACLU explains, the entire incident from when the vehicle was pulled over to when Promvongsa was under arrest and in the backseat of the vehicle handcuffed is less than two minutes. Promvongsa was not given proper time to obey the Officer Joswiak’s orders before excessive force was used against him, nor did Promvongsa represent any threat to the officers that warranted the use of force at all, let alone the level of force the officers used.

“Agent Joswiak’s use of force against Anthony Promvongsa is disturbing and completely unnecessary. We are calling for an investigation of Agent Joswiak’s behavior and for him to be held accountable for his brutal attack on Anthony Promvongsa, up to and including termination and prosecution.”

Agent Joswiak has not been disciplined at all for the violent attack caught on video.

“Everyone has a right to be treated with dignity and respect by law enforcement. The brutal assault against Anthony Promvongsa violated his rights,” stated Teresa Nelson, Legal Director of the ACLU-MN. “This assault, and the lack of discipline against the officers involved, is part of a pattern and practice by the Worthington Police Department and the Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force who routinely fail to hold their officers accountable for their actions.”

Watch the videos below, does it look like a case of necessary force from a cop protecting society? Or, does it look like a case of road rage — backed by a gun and a badge? You decide.

Full video below:

I want the system to change, because the system is broken here. Everyone sees it. Worthington has a problem with policing and it’s only getting worse.  Officers should not be above the law, and Officer Joswiak and Sgt. Gaul should be responsible for their actions. Our police need to be punished like anyone else and they need better training. That’s why I am working with the ACLU of Minnesota to file a lawsuit against the officers and other responsible parties,” Promvongsa wrote.

In its lawsuit, the ACLU-MN asks the Court to recognize this incident as part of a pattern and practice of misbehavior by the Worthington Police Department and the Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force. The ACLU-MN is also seeking damages for its client who suffered not only physical injuries but other harms stemming from the 2016 assault.

WATCH: Crazed Cop Beats Innocent Man With a Baton, Forces Him Onto Electric Train Tracks

traintrain

Cherry Hill, DE — Ryan Patterson of Philadelphia was visiting a friend last year when he got off on the wrong train stop. As he sat and waited for the next train, however, he was approached by a tyrant cop who began beating him with a baton and pepper spraying him. Eventually, the violent cop would force Patterson onto the electric train tracks almost killing him.

The entire incident was started because Patterson accidentally got off at the wrong train stop. Patterson had bought a round-trip ticket to Haddonfield and was returning to Philadelphia but had gotten on a train going in the wrong direction. He had committed no crime and had harmed no one when a cop with a short fuse decided to make his life a living hell.

According to Police documents, Port Authority Transit Corp. Officer Michael Fiocca followed Patterson to the westbound platform about 7:45 p.m. and asked for his ticket. Patterson responded angrily, according to the report, but showed the officer his ticket, which was not for Woodcrest Station, and then showed him identification.

At this point, Fiocca should have let Patterson go about his business. However, he decided to try to arrest him for no reason instead. Patterson, not wanting to be unlawfully kidnapped by this crazed officer, remained seated, noting that he wanted to simply get back on the correct train and continue to his destination.

Again, at this point, the officer — who had no legal basis for arrest — should’ve walked away. Instead, he chose to pepper spray Patterson in the face.

After he was hit with a chemical agent for refusing to be unlawfully kidnapped, he stood up and backed away with his hands up. At no time, during the entire interaction, did Patterson ever pose a threat or try to harm the officer.

However, the officer, who described Patterson as “much larger than me in stature and weight,” escalated force once again and began beating Patterson with his baton. Again, Patterson remained calm and simply stated that he is not under arrest.

Patterson then sat down again, at which point the officer began hitting him. This time, however, having been beaten about his legs and lower body—and, after being pepper sprayed a second time—Patterson lost his balance and fell onto the electric tracks below.

Had Patterson landed on the actual tracks, and made contact with the rail’s electrical current, he would have been fried instantly.

Seemingly realizing he’d messed up big time, Fiocca went from hurting Patterson to helping him and called in other officers to hoist him up back onto the platform.

Patterson was taken to Kennedy-Stratford Hospital and was released with a citation for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Both of these charges would be dismissed once authorities saw the video. And instead of Patterson getting in trouble, the Delaware River Port Authority fired the PATCO transit officer in September 2016 after initially suspending him.

“We have made a determination that the incident reflects actions inconsistent with our organizational core values and in direct conflict with the high standard of conduct we demand from our law enforcement officials,” DRPA CEO and PATCO President John Hanson said in a statement last year about the decision to fire Fiocca.

This week, Ryan Patterson filed a lawsuit against the former police officer in the Court of Common Pleas.

“Unfortunately this type of officer misconduct reaches all of our communities with increasing regularity,” said Thomas Fitzpatrick, an attorney representing Patterson. “We will fight for justice for Mr. Patterson and others like him who have their rights violated by those that swear to protect them.”

WATCH: Charlie Sykes Beats Himself Up for Being a Former Conservative

MSNBC
MTP Daily
October 5, 2017
5:38:00 PM Eastern

CHUCK TODD: In his new book How the Right Lost its Mind, former longtime conservative radio host Charlie Sykes dives into whether conservative media and rhetoric help make Donald Trump. And he also explores his own exile from what the conservative movement has become, calling it a painful book for him to write. He says, quote, “There is no mincing words. For me, 2016 was a brutal, disorienting, disillusioning slog. There came a moment when I realized that conservatives have created an alternative reality bubble and I had perhaps helped shape it.”

(…)

Sign Up for MRC Newsletters!

Charlie, welcome back to the show sir. Congrats on the book. But it is a — — it is a tough thing to say you were part of this problem. And there is some people that are going to watch this as conservatives and say, “this wasn’t a problem. You’ve sold out.” So explain what you mean when the right lost its mind and how it began.

CHARLIE SYKES: Well, this is why I wrote the book because I’m trying to figure out what just happened to us? How do we go from the party of Ronald Reagan to Donald Trump? You know, how did we go from William F. Buckley Jr. to Sean Hannity? What happened here? Was this a hostile takeover or a black swan event? Was this an otherwise healthy party that was seized upon by Donald Trump, or was it a pre-existing condition? And so, those are the tough questions. And you know the — losing its mind, truly chronicles how conservatives have really outsourced much of the thought leadership to crazy town. The attack on the conservative intellectual tradition and asking what did we miss? What did we do, did we contribute to this?

TODD: Well what did you come to? Do you believe — you said you think you contributed to it. What are some ways you did?

SYKES: And I think everybody needs to engage in this kind of introspection. I think I certainly contributed to the growing tribalization of American politics, the creation of alternative reality media silos. But I think the real thing what we don’t do, we did not push back hard enough against the crackpots, against the folks who later became the alt right. Back in the 1960s, William F. Buckley Jr. drew a line and exited the John Burch Society from the conservative movement, not because he was a rino or he wasn’t an anti-communist, but because he said: “You know, this has got to be a healthy intellectually honest movement.” We did not do that. We don’t have those gate keepers anymore.

(…)

SYKES: The reality is, that the Republican Party would never have nominated Donald Trump had it not cultivated a certain indifference to these racial issues, if it had not tolerated this sort of thing. And you know, to –again– what we are now paying the price for is all of the things we ignored.

(…)

TODD: Is there one person above all though? I think about the fact that we had a news organization run by a political operative, in Roger Ailes. And Roger Ailes was a culture warrior and he a specific way he knew how to get at gut level, when he was a campaign consultant and used the same tactics to market “news and commentary.” [Makes finger quotes] And so how much did that contribute, for instance to your audience?

SYKES: It contributed a great deal. I mean obviously Fox News is a major player here. The rise of conservative talk radio which I was part of, you know a major role in this. And then also the explosion of the complete alternative reality eco-system centered on Breitbart.com and what social media did. So you had a trend line where you had many of the voices that I think shape the narrative but then they were amplified in ways that I think took a lot of people in the mainstream very much by surprise.

TODD: It also seemed, for some reason, that it just became easier to get at culture – You know, it’s easier to talk about a war on Christmas, it is easier to talk about people going into a bathroom, when those aren’t serious issues. I mean, let’s be realistic. These are were not serious crises that American was dealing with.

SYKES: I think at some point and part of this recognition is that guys like you and me, we think the politics is about ideas an about policies and about accomplishments, when increasingly politics has become about attitude. It’s become about tribal loyalty. These culture wars that substitute for substance and that’s been a transformation that we’ve seen over the last several decades, it has led to us to where we are. And again Donald Trump is certainly a cause of some of this but he’s primarily a symptom. There is no question about it. Even if you take Donald Trump out, this is a party that nominated Sarah Palin. This is a party that flirted with a lot of some whacky candidates, this is a party that has cranked up a perpetual outrage machine that they are now finding out they cannot control.

(…)

TODD: But let me ask you a question that Roger Ailes might ask if he were still around. Isn’t a failure of conservative intellectuals that it was so easy to essentially hijack the movement?

SYKES: Yes, it was. Well, it turns out that the conservative intellectual movement was — we were a much smaller brand of brothers and sisters than we thought we were. But this is a failure of ideas, it was a failure of courage, it was a failure of principle and that is why there are some of us who are now in the wilderness and have to figure out is there some way back from the wilderness.

TODD: You’ve found a home here. We’ve got a nice big tent right here.

Crazed Cop Follows Elderly Couple Home, Beats and Arrests Them—for Honking Horn

couplecouple

Akron, OH — An elderly Ohio couple, who’ve never been in trouble with the law before got a hefty dose of the police state this week because they honked their horn at the wrong cop.

Carl and Margaret Wilson were on their way home this week when they came up behind a Summit Metro Parks ranger.

“I tooted the horn and went around; he swung out behind me and followed me up,” Carl Wilson told FOX 8.

But that is when the ranger’s road rage kicked in and he began following the couple home.

“So I come up here and pulled in the driveway and that’s when he pulled in behind me,” Carl explained.

Carl then told FOX 8 that he never expected what was going to happen next.

“He was screaming, said, ‘get out of the truck,’ and ‘get on the ground.’ I said, ‘what`s wrong with you?’ I said, ‘I’m no criminal; why did you follow me?’”

Wilson explained that the ranger pulled him from his truck and threw him on the ground.

“He was absolutely crazy like he was on drugs and he wouldn’t answer any questions.”

Margaret explained that the crazed officer scared her and she thought he may hurt Carl who has to wear a protective vest due to an operation on his heart.

“I just thought he was going to hurt him because, you know, he has no protection here,” she said.

When Margaret got out of her car to confront the apparent road raging officer, he then threatened to hurt her.

“I said, ‘you’re not going to hurt Carl,’ and he said, ‘woman, stand back; I’ll spray you with this mace.’”

Suddenly, however, instead of simply threatening to hurt the elderly woman, the officer took to actually hurting her.

“We were standing here at the door of the truck and he ran all the way back and took his foot and kicked her, messed up her elbow, messed up her back,” Carl explained.

A family friend took to Facebook to explain what happened.

These are Mary’s parents, Carl and Margaret Wilson. Both in their seventies, and Carl is an Army Veteran. They were brutalized by park ranger, Jeffrey Axner, in Akron Ohio. (Summit County) This can not be happening!?! Elderly, disabled and citizens of Akron for more than 50 years they have lived in the same home in Akron for all their married lives. Mary’s father wears a brace to protect his heart since an infection after open heart surgery caused him to have his breast bones removed. He was knocked to his knees and handcuffed behind his back for an hour and a half for the crime of honking his horn at a park ranger. This fraud also kicked Mary’s mother in the stomach, knocking her to the ground and handcuffed her as well. She laid on the ground, handcuffed and crying, shaking in fear while this monster threatened to mace her. Margaret is in frail health, having had two brain surgeries and a recent shoulder surgery. This could be your parents! If our country allows this kind of brutality to the old and frail, how are any of us safe?

Naturally, Carl and Margaret, who’ve never had a run-in with police before were terrified after this happened. They explained to FOX 8 that it was especially terrifying considering the fact that it happened in their own front yard.

Carl then had some choice words about this tyrant who he says should’ve never been given a badge.

“I wasn’t even in the park. The guy, he shouldn’t even be a dogcatcher, let alone in the park as a ranger,” Carl said.

For honking at the power tripping officer, the elderly couple was attacked and arrested. However, the charges were so glaringly false that the Summit Metro Parks released a statement noting they are going to be dropping them immediately.

Summit Metro Parks has placed a park ranger on paid administrative leave following an incident yesterday involving a senior couple in their vehicle. We have also requested that all charges brought against the couple after the incident be dropped immediately.

The incident began yesterday morning at the Newton Street entrance of Goodyear Heights Metro Park. The ranger pursued the couple’s vehicle to a residence on Darrow Road and handcuffed both individuals after an altercation. A backup ranger was summoned to the scene, and an Akron Police officer driving past the residence also stopped to offer assistance. The couple was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of official business, aggravated menacing and failure to comply.

We are conducting an internal investigation of the incident and have also reached out to the couple to learn more about the matter from their perspective. We are asking the Akron Police Department to conduct a third-party review as well. We will cooperate fully with APD’s review.

We take this matter very seriously. Our rangers are commissioned peace officers who enforce the park district’s rules, regulations and other applicable laws to protect resources, keep visitors safe and maintain good order. We hold our rangers, and all of our employees, to a high standard of conduct. Even though this incident unfolded outside park boundaries, we expect them to live up to that standard. The public deserves no less.

As soon as we learned of this incident, we immediately placed the ranger on paid administrative leave and began our investigation, in keeping with Summit Metro Parks policies and procedures, and in keeping with our contract with the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (OPBA).

We will provide updated information as new developments occur.

The Wilsons told FOX 8 they are hiring an attorney so we can rest assured the taxpayers of Akron will pay for this insane cop’s behavior

“I don’t wish anything bad on him, but I think they should prosecute him so that he don’t act like that anymore and hurt someone else.”

MSNBC Republican Suggests GOP Better Off If Dem Beats Roy Moore

HUGH HEWITT, MSNBC POLITICAL ANALYST: I believe that Judge Moore — Justice Moore — if he wins, could be defeated in the general because Republicans don’t want to be branded with that. I asked Robert Costa — our colleague — about that this morning. He doesn’t think it’s that close of a race.

I think it would be a very close race because there are a lot of strategic Republicans who think that Justice Moore could end up being a terrible brand for the Republicans to have to burden under for the next — 51-49 being better than 52-48 if your 52nd vote is Judge Moore. We’ll see — I think that could be what the story line coming up.

(…)

HEWITT: A lot of Democrats would love to see Justice Moore become Senator Moore. They would love that

ELIANA JOHNSON, POLITICO NATIONAL POLITICAL REPORTER: There was a time when the Democrats were cheering the rise of Donald Trump. They pulled up an old Washington Post article that had that headline, and I was wondering: Are Democrats now going to cheer the rise of people like Roy Moore and, you know, Danny Tarkanian and all these other fringe candidates? Or have they been chastened in the way establishment Republicans capitulated?

(…)

HEWITT: In my Republican closet in my head up here, there is the name Sharron Angle — there are a number of — there’s Todd Akin — there are a number of Republican nominees who damaged the party long-term.

CHUCK TODD: They didn’t even get into the Senate.

HEWITT: They didn’t get there. If Justice Moore does, it becomes an ongoing problem that will be every question. That’s why I think the time — what we have here is an election where people like Chuck (Todd) are going to be asking him —

TODD: Way too much time between the runoff and the general. That is uncomfortable amount of time. By the way, I can’t tell you how many Republicans from ’94 loved winning without Oliver North.

Russia Beats US In The Middle East

    God bless you, +BN.

    What a fantastic Video! And very timely, too. I really enjoyed listening to you on the show with Rense, and you’ve solidly hit quite a number of nails on the head, including Russia’s exposure of the ‘empire’ having no clothes.

    In fact, the velvet gloves have come off. The Russian fist picked up the hammer, and it looks like operations in Idlib to clean out al Qaeda/Nusra/HTS started a little early.

    Operations have been in the planning, but HTS at the prodding of its US masters started their mischief and wham!

    On the 20th, TASS reported:

    MOSCOW, September 20./TASS/. Three members of the Russian Special Operations Forces suffered wounds while breaking the militant encirclement near the Syrian city of Idlib, Head of the Main Operations Department at Russia’s General Staff Colonel General Sergei Rudskoi said on Wednesday.

    “Aircraft were delivering strikes on terrorists, the unit breaking the encirclement was supported by two Sukhoi Su-25 aircraft that attacked militants and their armored vehicles from extremely low altitudes.

    “As a result, the encirclement was broken and the Russian troops entered the area occupied by the Syrian government forces. During the operation, three Special Operations Forces members suffered wounds,” he said.

    According to Rudskoi, all the military servicemen who took part in the operation have been recommended for receiving state awards. “The steps that the Russian military command took together with the Syrian General Staff helped repel terrorists’ offensive and inflict significant damage on them,” the Russian general said.

    “In the current extreme conditions, Commandeer of the Russian forces in Syria Colonel General Sergei Surovikin has formed a de-blocking group,” he said. “It brings together units of the special operations force and military police, equipped by troops, natives of the Northern Caucasus, and Syrian special forces.”

    “During the past 24 hours, 187 facilities were hit by airstrikes and artillery fire, and about 850 terrorists were destroyed, as well as 11 tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles, 46 pickup trucks, five mortars, 20 lorries and 38 ammunition depots,” he said.

    “Taking advantage of the fire damage, units of the 5th Assault Corps of the Syrian Armed Forces together with units of government troops and backed by Russian aircraft launched a counterattack and at the present time they have practically fully regained the lost positions. The operation to destroy terrorists will be continued,” the top military said.

    Jabhat al-Nusra offensive

    Gunmen of Jabhat al-Nusra (outlawed in Russia) have launched a large-scale offensive against Syrian troops in Idlib de-escalation zone, Rudskoi, said.

    “Despite agreements signed in Astana on September 15, gunmen of Jabhat al-Nusra and joining them units that don’t want to comply with the cessation of hostilities terms, launched a large-scale offensive against positions of government troops north and northeast of Hama in Idlib de-escalation zone from 8 am on September 19,” the general said.

    “According to available data, the offensive was initiated by American intelligence services to stop a successful advance of government troops east of Deir ez-Zor,” he added.

    A platoon of Russian military police (29 men) was sealed off in the de-escalation zone Idlib and was beating back Jabhat al-Nusra attacks for several hours, he went on. He said Jabhat al-Nusra militants had mounted a large-scale offensive against Syrian troops in the de-escalation zone Idlib.

    “One of the militants’ main aims was to try to seize a Russian military police unit, deployed at an observation post in the capacity of a monitoring contingent,” he said.

    “As a result of the militants’ attack a platoon of military police (29 men) was sealed off and for several hours was beating back attacks by an outnumbering enemy force shoulder to shoulder with a unit of the Muali tribe, which had signed the ceasefire agreement and remained committed to it in this no easy situation,” Rudskoi said.

    ~~~*~~~
    Of all the stupid moves that US stooges of HTS/al-Nusra/al-Qaeda could have made in Idlib which it now dominates, picking a fight with the Russian Military Police tops the list for Stupid Award of the Year. This all occurred with a few days of 35 local militant groups in the ceasefire zones expressing their readiness to side with the Syrian government forces.
    These defections are going along all the time, as +BN has pointed out, during the course of amnesty and reconciliation once the truces have had time to sink in. In short, it’s the Syrian “opposition” actually separating themselves from al Nusra/Qaeda and ISIS terrorists that Russia requested time and again, the task that Obama and Kerry kept saying was impossible to do.
    Russian Military Police are a new army unit, with first deployment to Syria in December of 2016 to east Aleppo.
    This is worth watching to get an idea of who these men are, a 30 minute documentary by ANNA News about the MPs with English subtitles.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxmYR6QQkI
    Many of the Russian MPs serving in Syria are Chechens and Sunni/Sufi Muslims, although there are other Caucausian Muslims and Christians as well
    The Chechens and many of the Caucasians are battle-hardened and very experienced some of the senior men having fought in the Chechen wars, are well-trained in urban combat tactics.
    The MP platoons are being assigned all over Syria, and more to the de-escalation zones, and serve a six month deployment rotation I believe. I believe they directly answer to The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides which works together with the Syrian Centers for Amnesty and Reconciliation.
    The MP’s are kind of the Swiss Army knife of the Russian Army. They’re primarily responsible for guarding Russian military bases and operations, guarding the temporary field hospitals and clinics and military medial staff and their patients.
    They also guard the Russian combat engineers de-mining places, guard humanitarian relief truck convoys and the local distribution centers, and the caravans of buses filled with people released under cease-fire agreements from terrorist besieged cities.
    They patrol for stay-behind ISIS and al-Qaeda terrorists, and assist the local civilian police and municipal authorities as needed, as well as helping out the people themselves with some of their problems.
    The MPs are trained to assume policing functions in civilian areas, only to fight defensively. Most are Muslims so they understand the culture of very traditional Muslims and their clan and tribal societies.
    The MP’s play an important role in Russia’s humanitarian relief programs and transitional life from war to peace, adding order to often still chaotic situations until the Syrian civilian authorities can assume normal local functions again.
    Now, the Russian MPs were called on to perform as the cease-fire monitors in the four zones agreed finally agreed upon just within the past week or so.
    They’ve earned the respect, love, and friendship of the local Syrian people, and generate a huge amount of goodwill for Russia, and for Chechnya, because so many of the terrorists in al Nusra and ISIS were Russian Chechen terrorists.
    It looks like Russia and Syria are kicking off the cleanup of Idlib a little early. Deir Ezzor military airbase is now fully functioning for the SAA, which is flying combat air strike operations north, east and west of Deir Ezzor against ISIS.
    Although there were 29 MPs along with an unknown number of fighters of the Bedouin Arab Muali tribe (about 5,000 altogether in Idlib) who held off the US-proxy HTS’ attack until the wrath of the Russian forces rained down on them, its not certain that 29 Chechens actually kicked America’s butt with this one, because the other guys are just as tough, but there’s a pretty good chance some of them were.
    Many Chechens know from first-hand experience just what US-CIA meddling was going on in Chechnya back in the 1990s and early 2000s.
    Now there’s this statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense:
    ~~~*~~~

    South Front: RUSSIA TO STRIKE IMMEDIATELY US-BACKED FORCES IF THEY TRY TO ATTACK GOVERNMENT FORCES NEAR DEIR EZZOR – RUSSIAN MOD

    Russia has officially informed the United States via a special communications channel that Russian forces will strike immediately US-backed forces if they attack or shell Syrian or Russian task forces operating near Deir Ezzor city, Russia Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Thursday.

    Konashenkov emphasized that “any attempts of shelling from the areas where the militants of the Syrian Democratic Forces are based will be immediately curbed.” Russian forces will supress “firing points in these areas” using “all means of destruction”.

    The general added that 85% of Deir Ezzor city is liberated and Syrian forces will fully liberate it in the coming week.

    Since early September, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have repeatedly claimed on an official level that the SDF would not allow Syrian governent forces to cross the Euphrates River and is ready to fight Russians and Syrians if it was needed.

    However, it seems that making statements and attacking assault forces assisted by the Russians are two very different things.

    Syrian government forces have already crossed the river and now are developing momentum against ISIS on its eastern bank.

    https://southfront.org/russia-to-strike-immediately-us-backed-forces-if-they-try-to-attack-government-forces-near-deir-ezzor-russian-mod/

    Note General Konashenkov’s use of the word “militants” which more or less delegitimizes the fig leaf of the SDF somehow being legitimate forces under the authority of an illegal US military occupation in sovereign Syria.

    Play Ball!
