“Russia-gate” is the scream of a wounded U.S. empire – a military colossus that can destroy the planet many times over but was defeated in its war of regime change in Syria, despite killing half a million people and displacing a third of its population. Barack Obama was packaged as a “peace” candidate, but his real objective was to reverse the humiliation of his predecessor’s forced withdrawal from Iraq and thus maintain the image and substance of U.S. “primacy” in the world. U.S. public opinion, however, would not tolerate another massive mobilization of American ground forces in the region. Instead, Obama and his secretary of state and would-be successor, Hillary Clinton, partnered with the monarchies of the Persian Gulf, the most backward regimes on the planet, to transform the various flavors of al Qaida into a pro-western foreign legion: foot solders of imperialism.
The nature of the obscene alliance — although impossible to fully conceal, and rooted in U.S. policy since Jimmy Carter’s presidency — could not be spoken. Americans are conditioned to hate and fear all things Arab and Muslim (and, indeed, all people’s not sufficiently “white”). How could a U.S. administration align itself with the same forces that were blamed for 9/11? The same people that the CIA claimed had been harbored by Saddam Hussein? The same madmen that, we are told, want to kill Americans because they hate “our freedoms”? That’s way too much boggling for most American minds.
The very insanity of the idea helped to cloak the truth. The corporate media eagerly provided a full-blown counter-reality to suit imperial purposes. When the U.S. and its NATO and royal Arab allies became the air force for regime change in Libya, in 2011, the western press extolled the democratic virtues of the “rebels” on the ground — even as these heavily jihadist militias lynched and massacred Black Libyans and immigrant African workers by the thousands. (See BAR, “Slavery in Libya a Surprise?”). Lynching was the imperially-sanctioned order of the day, as Hillary Clinton confirmed on news of Muammar Gaddafi’s mutilation and murder. “We came, we saw, he died,” she said.
Many tens of thousands more Africans would die as captured Libyan arms found their way to jihadists throughout the northern tier of the continent, destabilizing much of the region and providing many future “missions” for the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), established just three years earlier.
Libyan jihadists were already showing up in Syria shortly after the U.S.-NATO bombing campaign ended, in October of 2011, joining other “freedom fighters” from around the world. The eastern part of Aleppo, Syria’s largest city, fell to Islamist forces in 2012.
The U.S. and its European, Turkish and royal Arab allies poured so much money and arms into the Syrian cauldron that a faction of al Qaida was empowered to declare a caliphate in the territory it captured from the Syrian army — just as was predicted in 2012 by analysts of the Defense Intelligence Agency. The DIA memo, revealed three years later , said the emergence of a caliphate — the Islamic State — seemed to be “exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime.”
The U.S. imperial war machine was on the roll again in the Mideast, with the two al Qaida factions — al Nusra and the Islamic State — by far the most effective fighters. This is Barack Obama’s grotesque legacy.
Three years later, it was Vladimir Putin who forced the U.S. to deploy its massive bombing power against the “rogue” Islamic State faction of al Qaida when the Russian leader denounced Washington’s double-game before the 2015 annual meeting of the United Nations general assembly. “No one but [Syrian] President Assad’s forces and Kurdish militia are truly fighting the Islamic state and other terrorist organizations inside Syria,” said Putin . The Islamic State’s profitable sale of captured Syrian oil to Turkey was conducted in broad daylight, immune to U.S. airpower. ISIS oil tankers traveled freely under open skies. “The motorcade of refueling vehicles stretched for dozens of kilometers, so that from a height of 4,000 to 5,000 meters they stretch beyond the horizon” [to Turkey], said the Russian president, who called for creation of “a genuinely broad international coalition” to bring to defeat the jihadist terrorists and bring peace to Syria.
Putin had exposed the U.S. alliance with al Qaida on the world stage, and intervened with his own air force at the request of the legitimate and recognized Syrian government, in full accordance with international law.
A little over a year later, in late 2016, when Aleppo was liberated from the jihadists, the western corporate media cried and fumed over the terrorists’ withdrawal from the city, as if the United States and its allies had been routed – which was, in fact, the case. Washington’s alliance with jihadists — the Obama-Clinton scheme to reverse George Bush’s humiliation in Iraq and empower the U.S. to shut the Russians (and Chinese) out of the Middle East – was in ruins.
U.S. imperialism was, indeed, in acute crisis — worse than when Bush was forced out of Iraq. The eclipse of United States “primacy” in the world was now painfully palpable. Further complicating this historic debacle, the Republican president-elect was an unpredictable outsider who had rhetorically questioned the bipartisan ruling class consensus on regime change, economic warfare (“free trade” treaties, crippling sanctions) and relentless hostility toward Russia. He would have to be contained, co-opted, or neutralized. Fortunately for the War Party -now decisively Democratic — Trump is eminently demonizable, and truly deserving of almost any insult.
“Russia-gate” was invented, almost out of whole cloth, in near panic and without benefit of evidence, to create the political climate to sustain the military offensive begun by Obama back in 2011. Having lost their jihadist war option in Syria and Iraq — and with less “soft” power by the day — U.S. imperialism feels it must now more aggressively deploy its strategic/nuclear throw-weight and its powers of economic strangulation, or lose the ability to dictate global affairs. The U.S. public must be made to see the threat to U.S. global supremacy as existential — as do the imperialists. Thus, the Russians have invaded “our democracy”; their interventions in U.S. internal affairs amount to a “Pearl Harbor”; or, as Morgan Freeman, the God-poser, intones, “We have been attacked. We are at war.”
It follows that anybody that says differently should be silenced or locked up.
“Russia-gate,” the howling disinformation machine, is a lie born of many lies — most immediately, the criminal U.S. partnership with al Qaida in Libya and Syria, perhaps the biggest lie and mass media cover-up of the 21st century: the Mother of all Fake News.
Former Vice President Barack Obama shared some of his favorite memes poking fun at his bromance with Barack Obama in a recent interview, saying, “in essence, they’re all true.”
“I feel good about it,” Biden said to NBC News about the memes. “All those memes, there are thousands of them out there, in essence, they’re all true. We had that kind of relationship.”

“My granddaughters and his daughters are each other’s best friends. They vacation together. You know, it’s family,” he continued, referring to the Obamas.
He also added that one of his favorite memes, among thousands that have flooded social media since last year, involved Obama, President Trump and fake birth certificates.
The politician was referring to a meme of him holding Obama’s shoulder and telling him to hide a fake birth certificate in a drawer in the White House — a reference to the “birther” crusade Trump publicly pursued about a fake conspiracy theory that Obama was not born in the United States.

“A couple of ones I liked were ones where I was trying on Ray Bans and he’s lying on the couch and I turn around and I said, ‘Which ones do you like?’ And he looks at me and says, ‘Joe, Joe, come on, focus here,’” Biden said.
The former vice president also laughed at a meme in which Obama said, “Wave at the people, Joe,” but Biden responded, “IMMA POINT AT ’EM” despite Obama again telling him to “please just wave.”
In an earlier interview released this week, Biden also expressed an openness towards running for president in 2020, but he said he is “not sure it’s the appropriate thing” for him to do.

Former interim DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile said the Democratic party was “leeched of its vitality” by former President Barack Obama and others in the months leading up to the 2016 presidential campaign.
“We had three Democratic parties: The party of Barack Obama, the party of Hillary Clinton, and this weak little vestige of a party led by [Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz] that was doing a very poor job getting people who were not president elected,” Brazile wrote in her newly released 2016 campaign tell-all, titled “Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House.”
Brazile accused the 44th president of caring “deeply about his image” and using the committee to act as a bank for his personal “political expenses.”
RELATED: People who might run against Trump in 2020
Obama “used the party to provide for political expenses like gifts to donors, and political travel,” Brazile wrote, adding that the politician also used DNC funds for “his pollster and focus groups” later into his second term although he couldn’t run for president again.
“This was not working to strengthen the party. He left it in debt. Hillary bailed it out so that she could control it, and Debbie went along with all of this because she liked the power and perks of being a chair but not the responsibilities,” Brazile wrote.
She added that although she believed Obama, Clinton and Schultz loved the Democratic Party dearly, they “leeched it of its vitality and were continuing to do so.”
“I knew that these three did not do this with malice. I knew if you woke any of them up in the middle of the night to ask them how they felt about the Democratic Party they would answer with sincerity that they loved this party and all it had done for the country and for them. Yet they had leeched it of its vitality and were continuing to do so,” Brazile wrote.
Brazile, who assumed the DNC role in the interim following Schultz’s resignation in 2016 after a trove of leaked emails showed the committee conspired to sabotage Senator Bernie Sanders’s campaign, has been facing heat for speaking critically against members in her own party in recent months.
“As I saw it, these three titanic egos–Barack, Hillary, and Debbie–had stripped the party to a shell for their own purposes,” Brazile wrote.

All five living former U.S. presidents gathered at a hurricane relief concert in Texas to raise money for victims of Hurricane Harvey, Irma, and Maria on Saturday night — and the Internet can’t stop obsessing about one moment between George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
During his time in office, Obama was known for his composure and, at times, even disposition. But over the weekend, the former president completely lost it at the relief event hosted by One America Appeal.
You can view the moment at the 3:35 mark.
While Bill Clinton delivered a speech discussing the enduring disaster in Puerto Rico, the younger Bush smiled and appeared to whisper something to Obama, making him laugh behind Bill Clinton.
The giggly moment has since gone viral, with many users online tweeting about how much they enjoyed watching the two bond.
“W cracking a joke to Obama while Clinton gives a speech is me in middle school,” one user wrote, while another added, “Bush pulling a dad move, cracking a joke to Obama during Clinton’s speech, and glancing repeatedly to see his reaction.”

As Democrats and Left-wing “progressive” anti-gun activists continue to push for gun bans and other erosions of the Second Amendment following the terrible mass shooting in Las Vegas on Sunday, it is well to remember that, once upon a time, a pair of notable Democrats did their best to ensure that kind of violence occurred as often as possible south of the U.S. border.
Early in President Obama’s tenure, he and Attorney General Eric Holder cooked up a scheme to send thousands of U.S.-based “assault weapons” — that is, semi-automatic rifles which cosmetically resemble real assault weapons — into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. The goal was to ensure the guns led to maximum death and carnage so that the Obama administration could then push for far stricter gun control laws that included complete bans on certain weapons.
The operation was called “Fast and Furious,” and it was run by an agency that answered to Holder Justice Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
As reported by the New York Post, the operation was a Department of Justice-run program that allowed thousands of rifles including .50-caliber rifles with a range of nearly two miles and powerful enough to take down a helicopter to be sold to the cartels, allegedly so they could be “tracked” back to the illegal drug-running operations.
However, the Post noted, “internal documents later revealed the real goal was to gin up a crisis requiring a crackdown on guns in America. (Related: MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: Official story of Las Vegas shooting unravels; physical impossibility of lone gunman senior citizen makes narrative ludicrous.)
“Fast and Furious was merely a pretext for imposing stricter gun laws,” the Post noted — even if that meant scores of people would have to die in order to achieve the political objective of more gun control.
Talk about sick.
In fact, the guns did cause death, mayhem, and carnage:
…[T]he scheme backfired when Justice agents lost track of the nearly 2,000 guns sold through the program and they started turning up at murder scenes on both sides of the border — including one that claimed the life of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.
While then-Attorney General Eric Holder was focused on politics, people were dying. At least 20 other deaths or violent crimes have been linked to Fast and Furious-trafficked guns.
The plot came to light after Terry’s death in 2010 at the hands of Mexican drug bandits; he was shot in the back with what was essentially an Obama/Holder-supplied rifle. But then, getting caught red-handed in the scandal, “the most transparent administration in history” lied repeatedly to Congress about the program, denying it ever existed. At one point, reported Newsroom American, Obama even extended executive privilege to Holder in regards to documents that were related to Fast and Furious. The site noted further:
[House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell] Issa [R-Calif.] and his committee have regularly demanded scores of documents from the Justice Department pertaining to the botched operation, in which the BATF allowed straw purchasers to buy guns from the U.S. and supply them to Mexican drug cartels south of the border.
The administration stonewalled on the documents, leading to a contempt of Congress citation for Holder.
However, as the Post noted, in May 2016 — when the Obama administration was gearing up to spy on the presidential campaign of then-GOP candidate Donald J. Trump — a federal court ordered the release of 20,000 pages of emails and memos that had been previously denied Congress and others looking into the scandal. “A preliminary review shows top Obama officials deliberately obstructing congressional probes into the border gun-running operation,” the Post noted.
Bottom line: Obama and Holder purposely created a situation that led to the slaughter of scores of people, including at least one federal agent, for the sole purpose of subverting the Constitution’s Second Amendment.
What disgusting treachery.

For those still in complete denial and missing former President Barack Obama, the Huffington Post’s Carly Ledbetter was kind enough to supply its readers with sentimental but silly Obama family themed jewelry, clothes and other accessories. The headline? “20 Perfectly Nostalgic Items For When You’re Missing The Obamas.”
Ledbetter wrote: “As the threat of nuclear war looms and President Trump’s Twitter feed continues to shoot out fiery tweets, it’s easy to pine for the Obamas. While we can’t bring Barack, Michelle, Sasha and Malia back to Pennsylvania Avenue ― and it’s nice to see them living their best lives on well-earned vacations ― we can always wear our love for them.”

These silly souvenirs are only the latest of a long line of “we miss Obama” sentiments and for anyone who considers themselves part of the “resistance” that President Trump “isn’t my president.”
Last month, the media fawning over Barack Obama seemed like it was an all-time high. That’s a lot, considering it seems like it never ends considering he left office seven months ago. But, alas, that hasn’t stopped lefty news sites over their slobbering lovefest for the former president.
Take the smallest of things, and the media will turn it into an oh so sweet and positive piece for Obama, much like they do to Trump, though they prefer to write negative and nasty stories over the littlest of things Trump has done.
Like in an Associated Press article last month, with the less-than-objectively titled, “Oh My God, it is Obama’: Alaska mom, baby meet ex-president.” It was a story about Obama taking a selfie with a baby. That’s some truly groundbreaking stuff right there. From the Associated Press? That’s some soft sugary piece you would expect from Buzzfeed, Bustle, CNN or the Huffington Post. But don’t worry – they went there too!
The Huffington Post’s Doha Madani called Obama a “baby whisperer.” Actually, she said he will “always” be a baby whisperer. CNN’s Alexandra King also touted the “baby-whispering skills” of the former president, as did Bustle and Refinery 29.
Considering the “Miss Me Yet?” memes of former President George W. Bush came out well after a year into Obama’s presidency, the media and resistance followers have been missing their beloved #44 since before Trump even took the oath of office. It’s simply nauseating and, dare I say, a contributing factor in the liberal mentality called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Barack Obama is an incredibly popular politician, and he’s got the social media clout to prove it.
A photo tweeted by Barack Obama in the wake of the violence at the Charlottesville protests became the most-liked tweet ever on Wednesday, with 3.4 million likes at the time of this reporting. The photo, an image of Barack Obama smiling up at a window full of babies, was accompanied by the first third of a Nelson Mandela quote concerning the human predilection for love over hate. The other two tweets completing the quote also received more than one million likes apiece.
The sentiment is compelling in the aftermath of the open display of hatred and bigotry in Charlottesville, when neo-Nazis and white supremacists marched to defend Confederate statues and President Trump tacitly refused to denounce them.
As such, Obama’s tweets were greeted with an intense outpouring of love and support, beyond the literal millions of favorites. Many users said they missed Obama, while others speculated on the spot he will occupy in history.
The positive response this tweet thread garnered was nothing new for the former president. Six of the ten most-liked tweets of all time, per Wikipedia, come from accounts associated with Obama. Two are from his archived presidential account, and four from his personal Twitter. After all, many of the qualities that carried Obama through his presidency translate well online. He retains his photogenic, charismatic, inspiring aura through well-intentioned platitudes and curated pictures of his equally photogenic, charismatic and inspiring family.
But Obama’s most recent and most popular tweet also renewed calls for the president to do something about Trump: release a stronger statement of condemnation, band together with other former presidents, or even step back into office himself, a Constitutional impossibility.
The Obama presidency was far from perfect, with potential criticisms to be made coming from both the left and the right. But his Twitter presence offers a nostalgic reminder of his “No Drama Obama” persona, taking Americans back to a time when the president’s most controversial headlines were his choice of condiments.
But it’s that same drama-free persona that means Barack Obama is not coming back to save us from Donald Trump. It would be a serious deviation from American political norms for a former president to criticize his successor any more than these tweets already implicitly do. Obama has long emphasized his belief in maintaining those norms, even as Trump flaunts them.
As such, Obama has generally shied away from making strong rhetorical statements since he left office. Most of his tweets are condolences to victims of tragedies, reminders of his administration’s policy achievements, or compliments directed at his wife.
He can ameliorate the pain that stems from watching the rise of open white supremacist movements in America, but comfort is all that he can offer. And frankly, it’s not his job to do otherwise. In the words of Obama himself, it’s ours.
That’s the sixth most liked tweet of all time, so hopefully people got the message.

(INTELLIHUB) — A lawyer of Barack Obama has filed a lawsuit against President Trump and political operative Roger Stone.
Stone appeared with Alex Jones on a live Periscope transmission Wednesday night to explain the situation.
During the transmission Stone appeared to be upset about what he said was nothing more than a “smear attempt.”
All of the details of the lawsuit are not yet clear but are expected to publically emerge in the coming days.

J.D. HEYES–The Washington establishment media, with plenty of help from their official political apparatus, the Democratic Party, has been in full meltdown mode over what legal experts widely agree is a huge nothing burger: That President Donald J. Trump allegedly pressured former FBI Director into dropping the bureau’s investigation into the president’s former national security advisor, Michael Flynn.
Comey allegedly made the claim in a memo that he supposedly wrote, a copy of which has never actually been seen yet by the general public. The allegations were laid out in a New York Times story based on what an anonymous source read over the phone to a Times reporter, if you can believe that.
My, how journalistic standards have fallen in the Age of Trump.
In any event, constitutional and legal experts aren’t buying it just yet. One of them is Prof. Jonathan Turley, an Obama supporter and a constitutional law professor at George Washington University Law School. Writing in The Hill, he states:
For the first time, the Comey memo pushes the litany of controversies surrounding Trump into the scope of the United States criminal code.
However, if this is food for obstruction of justice, it is still an awfully thin soup. … Indeed, it raises as many questions for Comey as it does Trump in terms of the alleged underlying conduct.
Lost in all of this parsing of Trump’s alleged illegalities and impeachable offenses are all the times when, were the dishonest media to apply the same standards, would have led to cries of “Impeachment!” for President Barack Obama.
As reported by WorldNetDaily, there were numerous instances when Congress — especially the GOP-controlled Congress — could also have introduced articles of impeachment against The Great One. Some of those instances include:
- Knowledge of Hillary Clinton’s private email server: Within five days of the original disclosure by The New York Times that Clinton had built her own private, unsecured email system, Obama told a national TV audience via CBS News what he always said when a new scandal hit his administration — he found out about it at “the same time everybody else learned it, through news reports.”He was lying, flat out.Subsequent reports months later stated that Obama himself had emailed Clinton via that same server, using an alias. And in fact, former U.S. attorneys believe that’s why Comey elected not to recommend her for prosecution. Hillary couldn’t be prosecuted without Obama being prosecuted as well.
- Obama IRS targeted conservative groups: Prior to the 2012 election, when Obama was running for a second term, the head of the IRS division that approved political activist groups’ non-profit status made certain that conservative organizations were targeted for outsized scrutiny and were held up from receiving their status. That meant they were unable to participate in the 2012 election cycle. This targeting of groups strictly on the basis of their political affiliation is against the law.
- Obama’s spying on Team Trump: This criminality actually began long before the Nov. 8 election. As reported by the National Review’s Andrew McCarthy, a former federal prosecutor, Obama politicized the U.S. intelligence apparatus and used it to spy on reporters, investigative journalists and even U.S. congressmen who are opposed to the regime’s policies.
- Illegal amnesty via executive order: Prior to his 2012 reelection, Obama stated repeatedly he did not have the authority as president to simply change immigration law and legalize millions of people who came to the U.S. illegally. But right after the election, he did just that, granting legal status to “Dreamers” — young illegal aliens who had been brought into the country by their parents.
There are many other instances — including the scandals involving Benghazi, Obama’s unconstitutional decision to bomb Libya without congressional authorization, the Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal, to name just a few — that were legitimate instances of presidential abuse of power warranting impeachment.
But of course, the Washington establishment press is the propaganda division of the Democratic Party, so they looked the other way. Often.
