City Agrees to Pay $9.3 Million For Wrongful Conviction Tied to Burge Detectives

James Kluppelberg is released from Menard Correctional Facility in Chester on May 31, 2012, after 20-plus years in prison for charges in a fatal fire.

Chicago officials have agreed to pay $9.3 million to a man wrongfully convicted of setting a 1984 fire that killed a mother and her five children, a crime he confessed to only after he was allegedly beaten by detectives working under disgraced Chicago police Cmdr. Jon Burge.

The proposed settlement in the federal lawsuit brought by James Kluppelberg marks the latest in a string of massive payouts by the city involving cases of alleged police misconduct.

It also adds to the ever-mounting costs of the torture scandal involving Burge and his “midnight crew” of detectives, which has stained the city’s reputation and so far cost taxpayers at least $115 million in lawsuit settlements, judgments and other compensation to victims.

The $9.3 million deal, made public Wednesday but reached as the trial over Kluppelberg’s lawsuit was set to go to trial in August, will be considered by the City Council’s Finance Committee at its meeting Friday. If approved , the full City Council will vote on the proposal next week.

A spokesman for the city’s Law Department had no comment.

Kluppelberg, 52, spent nearly 25 years in prison for setting the fatal blaze that killed Elva Lupercio, 28, and her five children, ages 3 to 10, in their home in the 4400 block of South Hermitage Avenue. The building was destroyed. Testing did not find any signs of accelerants.

Fire investigators originally labeled the cause undetermined and said it appeared to have been an accident. But the case was reopened more than four years later when a man arrested on burglary charges told police that Kluppelberg had set the fire. The man’s girlfriend had left him for Kluppelberg a few weeks after the fire, Kluppelberg’s attorney told the Tribune after his conviction.

Kluppelberg was arrested and later confessed to the arson. The lawsuit filed by Kluppelberg in May 2013 alleged that he confessed only after being beaten so badly by Chicago police detectives working under Burge that he urinated blood. Doctors found signs of trauma to his back and kidneys, and a trial judge later threw out Kluppelberg’s confession but not the underlying charges.

Kluppelberg’s attorneys at the law firm of Winston & Strawn and the Exoneration Project at the University of Chicago Law School had argued that the fire was not intentionally set, citing their expert, who found that it might have been accidental.

The man who first implicated Kluppelberg recanted and said in a sworn statement that he had lied to get leniency in his burglary case. And Kluppelberg’s attorneys alleged that authorities had concealed information about a woman who admitted setting a fire to a home on the same night about a block away. The woman, who was convicted of that arson, told officials she had been too drunk to remember whether she had set the fire blamed on Kluppelberg.

It wasn’t until 2012 that Cook County prosecutors dismissed the charges against Kluppelberg, saying they no longer could meet their burden of proof.

Kluppelberg left prison that year with $14.17 in the pocket of his gray sweatpants. He moved to Indiana to be close to his son and daughter-in-law, who supported him while he unsuccessfully looked for work. He later told the Tribune he felt “lost,” struggling to adjust to life on the outside and sleeping only three or four hours a night.

“I thought my life would be moving forward by now,” Kluppelberg said in the 2013 interview. “In a way, I feel like I’m still locked up.”

‘US State Department going rogue, agrees to work with countries that use child soldiers’

In a confidential US State Department memo, reported first by Reuters, Rex Tillerson reportedly breached the Child Soldiers Prevention Act when he decided in June to exclude Afghanistan, Iraq, and Myanmar from a list of states known to employ child soldiers.

RT:  Why do you think Rex Tillerson decided to take Afghanistan, Iraq, and Myanmar off the list of countries using child soldiers? Does this make it easier for the US to cooperate with the militaries of these countries?

Jennifer Breedon: It does make it (easier), but unfortunately Rex Tillerson in his capacity of secretary of state has actually been directly going against President Trump in a lot of the things he stated. One such thing – he stated many times in his platform…about the stand against these countries that are utilizing child soldiers, and we’re not supposed to be able to provide military support or even training.

But essentially if we allow military training of countries that we know have child soldiers, we’re essentially helping to train those very children that have become child soldiers. We have seen this time and time again, where President Trump has stated something in his foreign policy and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has gone against it. I don’t know if this is some kind of stance, or if he is just sort of laughing behind the President of the US, but it’s really showing a destabilization from the US foreign policy standpoint.

One such example – and this correlates directly with the child soldiers – is the UN speech. President Trump gave a UN speech in September of this year, talking about the self-determination of nations and how he wanted to go against certain people that were proxies, tied to the Iranian regime. Regardless of the stance, Rex Tillerson went completely against everything Trump said. He helped the PMF (Popular Mobilization Forces) and the Hashd al-Shaabi in Iraq, and he has continued to do this almost in direct defiance of President Trump.

RT:   Why did Tillerson make this decision, despite the State Department acknowledging those countries use children in their armed forces?

JB: And that’s the worst part, because the head of the State Department, essentially the head of our entire US foreign policy, Tillerson has an obligation to listen and to utilize the people within the State Department that have been there, and to adhere to their reports, and to what they have said. Unfortunately, it seems like he’s kind of going rogue on this and just thinks that he can do better.

This is the guy who was a businessman – he worked for Exxon – and he’s done all kinds of deals with nations. So if Rex Tillerson is somebody who is only looking at money, and who cares more about money – whether that would be US military contracts or other things with these countries – then human rights of children that are being forced to become child soldiers to take part in these violent battles, then we have a real problem – when the leader of foreign policy cares more about these military or financial deals than he does the human lives of these people.

RT:   Can we assume there is some kind of internal split within the US State Department? How far could this go?

JB: Absolutely. I think that’s been a consistent problem at the State Department, and with this new information unfolding, we’re going to see that more, that there is a split. One of the most important things for any nation – especially a powerful nation – is that there is unification among the people in power and among the leadership.

You’ve seen a split now: you have top State Department officials coming out and disagreeing with Tillerson’s decision to arm these child soldiers. We’ve seen this before in the State Department when they’ve written letters, they have expressed their disconcerting feelings about what the department, what the secretary of state is doing.

So not only is there a split within the State Department, but there is also a very heavy, deep partisan split within the US and a split between President Trump himself and Tillerson. So Rex Tillerson seems to be splitting with not only the president, but his very own State Department, which he is opposed to adhere to, and listen to some of their reports.

RT:   The US State Department spokeswoman claimed some of the countries had only one report of a child soldier. Does that make it reasonable to remove them?

JB: It depends on the situation – I always say this. I am somebody who is a human rights attorney, and as such we always have to look at the situation. For example, there are some countries – such as Afghanistan and others – where terrorism from the Taliban and others have become so bad that it is mainstream. And there are some people that are maybe 16-17 years old that choose to put their studies on hold and with their parents’ consent want to go and fight in the military. Under legal terms, they would be considered child soldiers.

Again, if this is the one instance that you’re looking at, where this was a child that was between 16, 17 years old that wanted to help because the village was unable to live in, then that is a very different situation, than if there were many things happening or this was a six-year-old child that has been forced into military combat. So, as you stated, if there is one – it depends on the situation. If we look at it reasonably, rather than just black and white saying “there is one instance, we’ll never do business with you,” or “what is that one instance?” That is what we need to see more often in the State Department is – what is the instance; can we help these countries?

The US Gov. Agrees to a UN Military Takeover In the Event of Civil Unrest on American Soil

The US Gov. Agrees to a UN Military Takeover In the Event of Civil Unrest on American Soil

This will soon be a familiar site on American Soil.

ISIS, MS-13, Antifa, the conspiratorial wing of the. CIA the cover up mechanisms of the FBI. the Clinton Foundation, the Paddock family, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, AG Jeff Sessions, VP Mike Pence,  George Soros and his communist front groups (eg, BLM), CALEXIT (eg California Gov. They are active and dedicated participants in the plot to destroy the Constitutional Republic of the United States and replace it with a brutal totalitarian government complete with UN troops in our streets and FEMA re-education camps. By the way, what you have read in this paragraph is just the short list.

Before you marginalize this bold statement, you might actually want to consider some hard core, irrefutable evidence. Let’s start with the mainstream media and Fox News.

From Fox News:

The United States is announcing its support for a set of principles that give a green light for U.N. peacekeeping troops and police to use force to protect civilians in armed conflicts.

U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power told a high-level U.N. meeting Wednesday focusing on the responsibility to protect civilians that the United States was “proud” and “humbled” to join 28 other countries that have pledged to abide by the 18 pledges.

U.N. peacekeepers from these 29 countries are now required to act in cases where civilians are in danger.

“The Kigali Principles are designed to make sure that civilians are not abandoned by the international community again,” she said, recalling how U.N. peacekeepers left Rwanda before the 1994 genocide and Srebrenica before the 1995 massacre.”

Camp Grayling Is a FEMA Camp

This FEMA camp facility in Grayling, MI., is the sight of martial law training for the Michigan National guard commencing on July 15, the inception date for Jade Helm. This facility also houses hundred of UN military vehicles.

Camp Grayling is a FEMA camp facility in Grayling, MI., and was the sight of martial law training for the Michigan National guard which commenced on July 15, 2015, during the Jade 15 Operation. This facility also houses hundreds of UN military vehicles.

The foreign troops training at the FEMA Camp facility, Camp Grayling, are clearly UN troops who are undoubtedly training for the inevitable.

With regard to Obama’s  July 1, 2016 executive order:

“United Nations “peacekeepers” may soon arrive and see action on American soil following the United States’ announcement of support for “a set of principles that give a green light for U.N. peacekeeping troops and police to use force to protect civilians in armed conflicts,” Military Times.”

I also received this email from an eyewitness to the treason going on at Camp Grayling.

The Army has been diligently training to lock the country down into martial law. Specifically, I am referring to the Army’s building of a ‘fake” $96 million dollar Northern Virginia town which is being used to train the military to enforce martial Law. Of course, the government says that this is a foreign town being used to train our troops to occupy. We also hear this same worn out argument about Jade Helm training in that “we are training for the Middle East”. Does the following video look like the Middle East to you, or does it look more like Mainstreet America? If Jade Helm truly training for the Middle East, then someone needs to explain why the town has a Christian church, handicap parking spots, Washington DC subway logos, loading zone signs and road signs in English. I don’t remember seeing pictures of the streets of Damascus in which they display handicap parking signs and have a plethora of Christian churches. A picture is worth a thousand words as you will see in the following video.

As far back as 2011, I published the following account: Sherrie Wilcox of Knoxville,TN. Sherrie has seen and photographed DHS armored vehicles back in March with Russian soldiers manning the vehicles in eastern Tennessee and Western Kentucky. The following video details how Russians are training in DHS vehicles.

I could fill a book with examples of UN/Foreign troops on American soil. The abovementioned three examples are merely prepatory background material in order to lay the groundwork for the latest example of UN/Foreign troops on American soil.

Subsequenttly, the Fox News story belongs in a history book, not reported as recent news. The UN is here on American soil and they have very bad intentions.

A  recent Q Alert posted at, stated that the United Nations is  preparing for what I have written about in the previous paragraphs.

This does not come from a high level source. Just an everyday average Joe. But a guy that works in the same industry, that always gave a hard time about the tin hat-stuff, recently returned from a Great Divide Concert at which a gentleman just passing by, stopped to mingle with this group of people. They had a couple of drinks, and this guy states, he likes America, he likes the people. He wished he could dance like, the Americans. Laugh.

He states he had been fighting beside US troops over past 6-7 years. And this is why I feel I need to tell someone over here in the states a lil something. He said he was from Norway. And he would be back in 3-4 months as a part of UN troops. He said there was nothing he could do. But felt compelled that he needed to say something, just to let such good people know what is coming. He said that they were going to be going door to door taking guns, or shooting to kill. They already had the lists of names, and addresses.

I have no reason to not believe the words from acquaintance. It actually pretty much freaked him out. He is rather overwhelmed from the conversation.

The players are in place and they are awaiting their predetermined signal. The plan is simple, yet comprehensive and relentless. The subversive groups plan to create as much chaos as possible. The stage has been set for UN intervention. Gun confiscation confiscation will be the first order of business. Ask yourself, what do you think they are going to do the members of the Independent Media. Gun confiscation will be followed by FEMA camp incarceration for “at risk people”.  This is something that I know a fair amount about and will be discussing this aspect at length over the next few days.

Re: Russia agrees to 1,000 more Iranian troops entering Syria

Russia has agreed that thousands more Iranian troops may enter Syria in support of the exhausted regime forces which have limited military capabilities, Israel’s Maariv revealed on Friday.

According to the newspaper’s security analyst, Yossi Melman, Israeli intelligence evaluation has disclosed that in the battle against Daesh in eastern Syria the regime needs intensive support from the well-trained Iranian troops as well as Russian air cover. Russia, he said, has approved the reinforcements from Iran.

“The Iranian presence in Syria will increase as long as Russia is interested in supporting the stability of the Assad regime to maintain control of Syria, or most parts of it,” intelligence sources were quoted as saying.

Melman pointed out that the Israelis are concerned that Iranian and Hezbollah troops will be deployed near the occupied Golan Heights. Israel expects thousands of Iranian soldiers to join the 1,500 “experts” who have been in Syria for years. He claimed that Israel recognises that its ability to affect the emerging situation in Syria is limited.

The senior security analyst added that a recent Israeli delegation headed by the Director of Mossad, Yossi Cohen, went to the White House and discussed the situation in Syria. An informed Israeli source told Melman that the delegation had all the appearances of a funeral. “Those who offered condolences were the Americans,” he explained. “The Israelis received the condolences and the funeral procession included the burial of US policy in Syria.”

Sarcasm-Free Zone: Sarah Silverman 'Agrees' with Geraldo to Ban Columbus Day

Never one to shy away from a controversial topic, comedian Sarah Silverman thought she would jump on the social justice warrior bandwagon, but instead of promoting the continued takedown of Confederate monuments, Silverman thought it would be a good idea to take away Columbus Day, which she describes as a “sham holiday.” These people never stop.

Silverman responded to Geraldo Rivera’s sarcastic tweet, asking if Robert E. Lee is to be erased from history, why not erase Columbus Day, whose arrival “ignited genocide of Native Americans.”

Apparently, Silverman missed the boat on this one. Pun intended. Rivera was being facetious in his tweet, basically saying if you take away everything from America’s past, it’s basically taking away part of history, which hard as they might, can never truly erase.

Silverman responded with her own tweet:

Insteand, Silverman has the great idea of making Election Day an official holiday, “so working people can vote.”

Doesn’t Silverman know working people already vote? I mean, working men and women all across the country have voted before work and after work with no problems at all, let alone most states actually have laws that require employers to allow their employees the opportunity to vote, in addition to absentee voting.

We know Silverman is a comedian, but sadly, she wasn’t trying to be funny when suggesting Election Day becoming a holiday so “working people” can vote when they can already do so. Another example of how Hollywood is out of touch with the everyday Americans.

Zio press freaks out because President Trump agrees with Dr. Duke on obvious facts

By Dr. Patrick Slattery — At Donald Trump’s press conference today, he surprised the Zio media by reiterating his original assertion that there were “problems on many sides” in Charlottesville last weekend. Obviously, we do not agree that any fault lay with the organizers of the “Unite the Right” rally nor with the groups that came to support the rally. But with the media whipping up hysteria over the fatal car crash involving James Alex Fields before the circumstances surrounding the event are even clear, the best we can really hope for is a false equivalence at this point.

It took a great deal of courage for Donald Trump to condemn the violence perpetrated by what he called the “Alt-left” (certainly the Antifa, but there were also violent elements in BLM, etc.). Please note that the Alt-right attendees brought defensive gear like helmets and shields, while the media’s darling “counter protesters” brought cement-filled bottles, flame throwers, hydrochloric acid (which they used to apparently permanently blind one of the Alt-right speakers), urine, feces, used tampons, and used condoms. The latter few items may seem like jokes, but anyone who has worked in the health care industry can tell you that these can spread HIV and other serious diseases. These are serious chemical and biological weapons, and the Alt-right brought their helmets and shields because the violent leftists have been using these methods of attack for some time now.

President Trump also showed tremendous courage in pointing out they are attacking Robert E. Lee today, but tomorrow it could be George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Actually, with the NFL season about to begin, next in line is probably the national anthem. The Star Spangled Banner was written about a battle in the War of 1812, which had nothing to do with slavery or the Holocaust® any other hot-button PC issues. What makes it objectionable is that it is from an era before multi-culturalism, before Zionist domination of our country. What do they propose replacing it with, one of Nikki Minaj’s award winning songs?

When Donald Trump read a prepared statement condemning the straw men of the KKK and white supremacists, Dr. Duke and others warned that it would never be enough to satisfy the Zio mouthpieces in the media. And it wasn’t. CNN interrupted its 24/7 coverage of Russia’s make-believe election hacking to inform viewers that the President’s prepared statements specifically calling out mythological white racism was too little too late.

So today it was with great pleasure that I turned on CNN’s Erin Burnett Show for a dose of the host’s usual vacuous indignation, only to hear her ask if the last person in America who supports Donald Trump is David Duke. Then it was more of KKK this and white supremacist that.

Vacuous indignation

The question I have is what do they mean by white supremacist? According to Wikipedia, “White supremacy or white supremacism is a racist ideology based upon the belief that white people are superior in many ways to people of other races and that therefore white people should be dominant over other races.” I don’t know of any of the planned speakers at the rally who want white people to be dominant over other races. As for “being superior in many ways,” Dr. Duke acknowledged in his books that, on average, blacks run faster than whites, east Asians score somewhat higher on IQ test, and so on. Yet, he is proud of the incredible achievements whites have had in science, culture, etc. Is there something wrong with that?

The irony, of course, is that Erin Burnett and most of the rest of the mainstream media work for bosses that do adhere to a racist ideology: Jewish supremacism. Their tribal religion proclaims them to be God’s chosen people, and even those who are non-believers in God still have a strong tendency to behave ethnocentrically in order to build and maintain domination over all other races. We see it in the media. We see it in banking and the Federal Reserve. We see it in campaign finance that has turned the politicians of both major parties into scared little minions. And we see it in academia, where non-Jewish whites are vastly underrepresented in elite universities relative to both their merit and their population.

And there is something wrong with that. I don’t expect Erin Burnett or any other highly paid anti-white propagandist in the Zio media to ever admit it. But I am very heartened that Donald Trump seems to get it.

Former Chicago professor accused of murder agrees to Illinois transfer

By Alissa Greenberg

DUBLIN, Calif. (Reuters) – A former Northwestern University professor who led police on a week-long manhunt after he was accused of stabbing to death a Chicago-area man agreed on Monday to be transferred from California to Illinois to face a murder charge.

The manhunt for Wyndam Lathem, 42, and Andrew Warren, a second suspect who worked at Britain’s Oxford University, attracted international attention. The two, who surrendered to authorities separately on Friday, were seen on surveillance video leaving the victim’s apartment building, police said.

Chicago authorities, who are seeking to extradite both men, have described the crime as domestic in nature, without offering a motive.

Before turning himself in, Lathem made a video to apologize about the slaying, and he may have made a mysterious donation to a library in the victim’s name.

“What he is accused of is totally contrary to the way he has lived his entire life,” Lathem’s attorney, Kenneth Wine, said in a statement.

Lathem, with close-cropped hair, appeared on Monday in Alameda County Superior Court in the Northern California community of Dublin.

During the hearing, prosecutors asked a judge to order him sent to Illinois, where he faces a murder charge. Lathem told the judge he has agreed to be transferred.

He will likely be moved within a week or two, Wine said outside the court.

The victim, Trenton Cornell-Duranleau, 26, was found stabbed to death on July 27 in Lathem’s Chicago apartment, along with a knife with a broken blade, said Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Chicago Police Department.

Northwestern dismissed Lathem from his position as associate professor of microbiology and immunology, the Evanston, Illinois-based university said in a statement on Monday.

Warren surrendered to police in San Francisco on Friday, the same day Lathem surrendered in nearby Oakland.

Guglielmi said Warren had arrived in the United States one or two days before the slaying. It was not clear if he had a lawyer.

Warren, a senior treasury assistant at Oxford’s Somerville College, is expected to appear in court on Friday at a hearing where prosecutors will seek to have him transferred to Illinois, said Max Szabo, a spokesman for the San Francisco district attorney’s office.

Lathem sent family and friends a video apologizing for the crime, police said. The case also took investigators to Wisconsin’s Lake Geneva resort community, where a man police believe was Lathem made a $1,000 donation to a library in Cornell-Duranleau’s name.

Syrian group that left anti-Daesh fight agrees to return US coalition-supplied arms

The US-led coalition and the Syrian Shohada Al Quartyan (ShQ) group that defected from the counter-terrorfight, have agreed on the return heavy weapons, Operation Inherent Resolve spokesperson told Sputnik on Thursday.

Last week, CNN reported that the coalition had cut ties with the ShQ because the group’s leadership wants to fight the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad instead of Daesh terrorists. When commenting on the reports, Operation Inherent Resolve spokesperson Col. Ryan Dillon said last Thursday that the US-led coalition will reclaim some equipment it provided to Shohada Al Quartyan fighters.

“Our meeting with the ShQ was cordial and we negotiated for heavy weapons and other equipment to be turned in,” the spokesperson said. “The ShQ also agreed not to conduct offensive operations against the Syrian Regime from inside the 55km de-confliction zone.”

The de-confliction zone is located near al-Tanf in Syria.

The spokesperson said while the coalition is no longer supporting the brigade, some of the ShQ fighters “may yet stick with fighting ISIS [Daesh] as they link up with other groups.”

“The Coalition will continue to train, advise, assist and accompany other vetted partner forces in southern Syria that wish to defeat ISIS above other objectives,” the spokesperson added.

The move came just over a week after The Washington Post reported that President Donald Trump decided to end the CIA’s program to arm and train Syrian opposition fighters.

NYPD agrees to $75mn payout over illegal ‘broken windows’ policy

A class-action lawsuit accusing the New York Police Department of issuing hundreds of thousands of summonses in order to boost its crime statistics has been settled for $75 million.

A federal judge approved the settlement Monday after seven years of litigation.

The controversy arises out of the NYPD’s ‘broken windows’ policing strategy, tactics based on the idea that clamping down on minor crimes, such as broken windows, helps prevent more serious crimes. The NYPD adopted the policy in the 1990s and it subsequently spread to other American cities.

The plaintiffs in the case Sharif Stinson et al v City of New York argued that minorities have been disproportionately targeted by the policy.

US District Judge Robert Sweet approved the settlement, saying the ruling strengthened people’s protections under civil rights laws.

“This civil rights class action is the paradigm of change and progress achievable in a society undergirded by the rule of law,” the judge wrote. “The rights of all citizens will be fortified through what has been represented as the largest settlement of Fourth Amendment claims in New York City history.”

The $75 million settlement covers approximately 900,000 summonses issued from May 2007 to December 2015, all of which were later quashed due to a lack of probable cause.

Some $56.5 million has been set aside for the claimants who can collect a maximum of $150 each. Meanwhile, the law firms that took on the class-action suit – Quinn Emanuel; Cohen & Fitch, and the office of Jon Norinsberg – will divide the remaining $18.5 million between them.

Judge Sweet overruled objections that the figure was too small and released too many claims.

Reuters report that one of the plaintiff’s lawyers, Joshua Fitch, said that the class-action lawsuit has led to better policing in New York.

“It shifts the department’s perspective from ‘broken windows’ and statistics, to a focus on communities and fighting crime,” Fitch said.

A spokesman for the city’s law department told Reuters that parties will move forward to execute the agreement.

Washington Post Agrees With Clinton: She Lost Because She’s a Woman

In Monday’s Washington Post, the media’s pathetic attempt to blame everyone but Hillary Clinton for her election loss trudged on. Today’s paper highlighted a study by two professors at the University of Texas at Dallas, that surveyed what voters felt about women in the workplace, and whether or not their answers fit into a “traditionalist” or “progressive” mindset. The survey’s writers concluded that their six question survey found that Clinton was correct: “Negative attitudes toward women affects voters in 2016, and the impact of these attitudes influenced the outcome of the election.”

The study’s writers, professors Harold Clarke and Marianne Stewart, found that there was a mixture of what they deemed “traditionalist” and “progressive” attitudes towards the role of women in the workplace. Despite finding that there were more progressive attitudes than traditional ones, the fact that traditional attitudes towards gender still existed, they argued, meant that Clinton lost because of sexism. What?

The study’s writers, nor The Post, make no attempts to connect how these “attitudes” affect voters choices once they get in the voting booth.

In fact, they admit that their study did not make any reference to the 2016 election:

These questions are intended to capture whether survey respondents have “progressive” or “traditionalist” attitudes toward women’s roles and statuses, without any reference to Clinton, Donald Trump, political parties or the election.

Noticeably absent from their analysis? Clinton’s credibility issues with voters, her recent e-mail scandal, her reticence to campaign in counties she didn’t think were important enough to visit and the three-decade long political baggage she brought with her.

Even after admitting that because there were more “progressive” attitudes than “traditionalist” ones this probably helped Clinton more than it hurt her, they still concluded that Clinton lost because of “traditionalist” attitudes towards women:

In short, our analysis suggests that Hillary Clinton is correct: Attitudes toward women’s roles and statuses influenced presidential voting in 2016. If fewer voters had held traditionalist attitudes toward women’s roles and statuses, Clinton’s national popular vote total (already a plurality) would have increased. Even small shifts in these attitudes could have affected the outcomes in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio, where Clinton lost by an average of only 0.57 percent.

If this sounds like a weak argument, the study’s questions don’t help bolster their case either.

The survey is full of loaded questions that could be read in multiple ways such as “There is a lot of equality between men and women,” and “Women often earn lower salaries than men.” One might agree with the statement but disagree with the clear bias behind the question, thus affecting how the respondent answers the question.

Bottom line is, the media keeps clinging to this narrative that sexism helped Clinton lose and Russian “hacking” helped Clinton lose, despite there being no definitive proof of either of these things.
