Paul Simon is bidding farewell to the music industry, and many fans could not be sadder.
To say that Simon is a legend in the industry is a huge understatement. For nearly 61 years, Simon has been an influence on music. He’s captured 16 Grammy’s for both his solo and collaborative work, named one of Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists” of all-time, and even made Time magazine’s list of “100 People Who Shaped the World.”
Even more? Simon was the first artist to receive the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song from the Library of Congress. Few artists have received such high honors, and to make his achievements even more spectacular, Simon has done it in a quiet fashion.
There is nothing quiet, however, about his trusty guitar, which not only was a dominating sound in Simon & Garfunkel but also netted him some of the biggest hits of all time. Now, his guitar will go silent at the end of the Homeward Bound tour, which is being presented by Simon as “a big thank you” to his fans before he hangs up his guitar for good.
The final dates of the tour have recently been released, and here are the lucky cities where fans will be able to see a living legend one more time before he resigns to occasional appearances. Keep in mind that dates and venues are subject to change.
